    Great video! I'd suggest two things. The first thing is to have an extra column showing the profit for each card (could also be the ROI on the money spent on the card). That way you can analyze which cards give you the greatest profit to optimize your buying strategy. Could also be different shades of green marking the card. Dark green = great profit and light green = small profit. The second suggestion is having an extra column showing your purchasing price (yes you would have two identical columns showing purchasing price). But when you make a sale you delete the value in one of the columns. That makes you easily track your current inventory value. It's not perfect, as the purchasing price at the given time does not always reflect current value but it does give you a pretty decent idea of total inventory value. For me it was an eye opener seeing how much money I had tied up in cards and boxes just laying around. It can also be pretty handy for insurance purposes. Thank you for your content - please keep making it!

    I just re-started collecting cards (used to in the 90s). I'm also using Excel to track all the spendings and sales. Great job mate!

    Thanks for this video. I am just getting back into cards in an attempt to build a small business flipping. I collected as a kid in the 80s and jumped back in a couple of years ago to make money, and I jumped back out after a couple of months because I wasted so much on braks, razzs, packs, and buying th wrong cards. I am now getting back in, starting with around $200. I am going to try to build from the ground up. I have done a lot of research, and I now have a strategy. I bought my first cards for the past 2 weeks. I have a handful to flip as the NFL season begins, and then I am moving to basketball for the start of the NBA season. I am just beginning a tracking spreadsheet, so this is a useful video, hanks.

    Excellent video! Very informative! I do something similar, but it’s pretty cumbersome and takes a bit of work to do some real analysis of how well I’m doing. And I only put cards I’m listing in the spreadsheet…I need to start doing this for all cards. Each card gets one row and there are columns for purchase price, grading, platform charges, and even pre-grading notes. It’s kind of one stop shopping. Oh yeah, the best part is after I enter all the details for cards, I output a CSV file which gets uploaded to eBay and creates listings. Thanks for the video! Would love to see more content like this. I’m going to check out your previous videos.

    Just curious, would you find it helpful if there was a platform that helped specifically manage your sport cards inventory? I was working on something like this as a side project for fun, as a way to combine my interest in tech and sports cards. But now I am wondering if this is actually something useful to invest more time in 🤔

    • @DanielsonSportsCards

      It's a great idea. I think it would be really helpful. I feel the biggest thing my sheet doesn't do well is showing currently inventory and inventory value. Market movers is good because it can do that and show prices of comps. But it doesn't work well for raw cards, and transitioning raw cards to graded. But I think it's the closest thing that exists.

    • @dora_dadestroya
      @dora_dadestroya 4 місяці тому

      @@DanielsonSportsCards Thats exactly why i started to build a platform for this. I wanted something a bit more specific in terms of tracking Raw to Graded, knowing what cards are in Grading Process (PSA,BGS,HGA) , and knowing the money i've spent and margins ive made per card. I think I will restart this project again, I didn't think it was too useful to continue but now im having second thoughts. Thanks! 🤔

    How do you input when you sell a card purchased in a previous year?

  • @zachmiller9861
    @zachmiller9861 4 місяці тому +1

    I have columns that show the average sale price of that card, and the gem rate % for PSA, BGS, and SGC for that card. Just a suggestion. How do you account for raw cards that you later graded? It seems like you are only buying raw, selling raw. Buying slabs and selling slabs
