Ive got a 2008 SH forester. Did a 2" lift and some AT tyres and it absolutely smashes the sand. Subaru's AWD system is different from most other AWD systems. Most are front wheel drive based until they lose traction, then they send a small amount of power (usually up to 30%) to the rear. This is sufficient for some improved traction control, but not offroading. Subaru has something like a 60:40 split between front and rear all the time, so is far more capable.
Steve I thought he had no chance, especially at high tide. When we saw cruzers and patrols getting bogged I thought we were in for a world of trouble, but it just kept going 🤣😂
Yeah mate, I was shock just how well they go! All comes down to weight on sand, your car is super light so just cruises over the top. Taylor had issues with the sand in the engine aswell.
@@Off.Track4x4 I've just put a set of BFGoodrich AT tyres, a sump guard from subaxtreme. My solution to the sand will be bringing a blower and two or three layers of bug screens to minimize the amount of sand in engine bay. Anyways I'm so confident with the Subaru's offroad capabilities. I'll go Bribie again shortly and let you know if the tyres and the bash plate make a huge difference
@@fredd298It's the limited approaching angle of Subaru comparing with traditional 4WD. Sand does come in the engine bay from the lower part of the front bumper
just make sure youre only lifting the body sub 3 inches or you will end up having to change links and whatnot in the suspension .. 2006 forester here lifted 2 inches with big knobby tires is unstoppable
Subie Lift Oz do a 2" strut block lift, and Ironman do a 2" suspension lift as well for the SK Forester. Tell him to get a sump/cvt guard from Subaxtreme too.
@@Off.Track4x4 got a stock height Forester with the sump guard and All Terrain tyres. My old Forester was lifted though. Great cars. Thanks for the video. Gotta get to Bribie one day
Great video! I've got a 2012 turbo Sedition Foz with the auto trans and a little lift - it LOVES SAND 😅
I was so gobsmacked at how well it went. Good on you for using yours as well
I have a 2011 Forester kitted out with a bash plate and a lift, head up the beach all the time, never get bogged!
Yeah mate, sand and hevey cars don't mix! Your car would be unstoppable with the lift 👌

Hello Jarryd, they really are an impressive car, I bet yours is unstoppable
Subie 👍
Thanks for watching and subscribing mate 😊
It’s actually amazing a stock Forester can do that!

I've just taken my brand new outback to the Bribie. No mods at all. It did surprisingly well except the sand in engine bay.

What issues are we talking about?

Got a 2 inch ironman lift going Into my outback, definitely check out subaxtreme for some underbody protection to replace the plastics.
Really Ironman do a left kit! Handy to know I'll let Taylor know and hopefully we can have a new challenge
@@Off.Track4x4 they do, iron Man ATS kit comes with everything you need.
Yeah I got an 2010 forester with 40mm strut spacers lift , it really makes life easier, and yes it goes everywhere my friends duel cabs do
I can imagine it would! We were all blown away at just how good the Subi went.

3 inch lift would look wicked 👍

Wow Joel our man in the know!! I will pass on all the info to Taylor. Thanks mate 😊👍
I'm guessing you have a lifted Subi?

2 inch lift kit from Subi lift Oz, Subaxtreme sump bash plate and good set of AT tyres on my 2015 Forester. Just loves the beach.
They would be so light compared to the utes, so just float across the sand
I’ve got a lifted 2018 Outback - been up DI many times
Brodie who lifted it for you? Taylor would love to lift his.
I got a forester now im interested in a lift😁
Mate with a lift they would be unstoppable!
Subi lift oz
Google that :)

Thanks mate 🙂
That suspension looks terribly soft.
Hey mate, just factory suspension, I'm pretty sure it was not designed with beach driving in mind 😂🤣
