    Very clearly explained. On the strobe topic, please create an episode covering thoughts on some of the available models. There are not many people like you two who have access and the knowledge, of course, to make an objective comparison of various available models. Keep the great work!!!

      Thank you! I think we will avoid making comparisons as neither of us has used the full range of strobes available. I also think that the place for this discussion would be on the forum, where you can get a wide range of opinions. I do see the possibility of us adding some reviews of specific products on here though, but they would not be comparative.

    Thank you for clear explanation. Myself I always shoot using manual stobe control. It's easier than playing with TTL even while shooting macros. You can control power also by moving the srobes nearer or further away from your subject. With TTL it only tries to comprnsate your move.

      I think we agree about using manual control of our strobes! You can move strobe position, but bear in mind that if you do so, it becomes harder to control the fall of the light

    Thank you so much for taking the time to share all your knowledge with everybody. I’m a relatively new amateur underwater photography but completely passionate about it. Everyday I can learn more with your videos, like this topic about TTL and manual.
    I have been criticized for using full manual mode on both my camera (canon 5d mkII) and my strobes. Is this the best setting for underwater photography or is it the setting you use? Please consider that I have been a professional video maker and amateur photographer for years and know my gear inside out. Thanks a million.

      Both Alex and I use manual mode, for the reasons we set out in the film. Is this the "best setting?" I guess the short answer is it works for us...For more input I would check out the huge amount of discussion about the subject on the Wetpixel forums: wetpixel.com/forums/index

    thank you for your videos! it helps a lot :)
    if i'm using a flash trigger (sony a6300 + flash led trigger), do I need to use only the full / manual modes on the strobe?

      I think we need a bit more information to give you a correct answer and neither of us shoot with Sony cameras. I would post your query on the Wetpixel forum: wetpixel.com/forums/

    Is there a video that shows the different strobe positions used for different shot and some examples of creative lighting?

    Awesome video. Quick question. If you are diving with strobes and you see some scene that doesn't require strobes(such as an animal in the distance). What is the best way to shut them off quickly? Or do you let them fire anyway?
    Thanks!

    • @Wetpixel-Live
      @Wetpixel-Live  3 роки тому

      Thank you. There are too many variable to answer your question! If there is nothing being lit by the strobes, it will not affect image quality directly, although it may light up particles in the water. It may also slow down your camera's speed if you are using the camera's flash to trigger the strobes.

      Im interested whether you think TTL would be useful on fast moving subjects where there's very little time to adjust strobes - basking sharks for example.
      Also, I'm interested if theres any difference between electronic cables and fibre optic when it comes to TTL :-)

    Adam, you need to communicate and pay back the money you owe me and others. You have been reassuring me for months that you would get me my 5,000 dollars back from the Lembeh trip you rescheduled once your health allowed you to do so. I you are able to post new trips and collect money from people you can send me my money back. There is no excuse for this behavior.
    I warn others that there is a pattern of collecting money then no communication and sometimes not even a trip like this Red Sea one. To not talk about it and reveal what Adam is doing is hurting the industry and protecting someone that is fraudulent and causing great damage to the industry.
