That was REALLY clear! Thanks so much; I knit Portuguese style, so it’s hard sometimes to make sure your yarn is in the right place, but your video made it absolutely clear that what looks like a very long yarn over across a lot of stitches, once you take the slipped stitches over, then it falls into the right place and you haven’t missed a yo. Thank you so much - problem solved!

Holy Cow thank you so much! I have Knitting Fresh Brioche but I can't learn very well just from reading, I need to see it done. You are so clear! Wonderful.

I really appreciate your videos; I've graduated from making a simple brioche scarf to a hat, and your videos make the written instructions so clear!

Thank you very much. Your videos are so clear. I am looking (in vain) for a clear video creating a left leaning decrease on the purl side (brpLsl) - a 2 stitch decrease. I have written instructions but I too need to see it being done. Are you considering such a video?

Arlene Jackson Hi Arlene - thank you! I’m glad you found it helpful.
I haven’t thought of doing that video but if you’re willing to send me the instructions you have I’d be happy to create a video for that. Meaghan (at) unapologeticknitter dot com.

The Unapologetic Knitter Wow. Thank you. It's from Knitting Fresh Brioche. Slip the first stitch purlwise. You are now going to switch the position of the following 2 stitches on the LH needle. Do this by going behind and skipping the following stitch, put the next stitch on the RH needle purlwise and at the same time hold the skipped stitch to the front with fingers (or on a stitch holder), place skipped stitch onto LH needle and purl it, then pass the slipped stitches over, first the one closest to the working stitch and then the very first slipped stitch. Whew.

Hello Meaghan, I love your very clear videos and have watched and learned your right and left slanting Brioche decreases. I'm doing a pattern from Nancy Marchant's book, "Knitting Fresh Brioche" on page 144 called "Bart & Francis Compressed". That pattern calls for a "brpLs and a brpRs" decrease. A PURL slanting decrease! So confusing!
Have you ever done that maneuver and was it successful?? I've googled it, read it and looked at the pics in the book and tried it many times and can't seem to GET IT.
If you are familiar with that decrease, would there be any chance you could video it for folks ??
    Thank you,
    Sharon

Hey Sharon- I'm glad you had luck with the knit side decreases. I have NOT done a purl side decrease but I'll look into it and see about getting a video done up. Thanks for the feedback!

Can I use these right slant/left slant decreases for a raglan decrease in brioche knitting? Having a hard time finding example of the raglan decrease in brioche.

Carol Pennings Yes, that would be correct. Just keep in mind that these decreases take out 2 sts each time you work one so rather than working a decrease every other round, you'd likely want to work one every 4th round to keep the shaping ratio correct.
