  • In his home workshop, Taylor Guitars' master guitar designer Andy Powers demos two of his latest creations: the 324ce, built from reclaimed wood sourced from city trees in Southern California, and the 816ce, a Grand Symphony model with a modified Florentine cutaway, both from the Builder's Edition series. See AG's full review of the guitars at bit.ly/2VQScnl.

Great explanations of what you were trying to do and what you actually created. I have many of the guitars you have designed and love them all.

Kudos for playing Lagrima at the end. It convinces me that this guitar is great for finger style.

I think part of Andy Power's ability to create such responsive and specific guitars comes from his ability to play. It is one thing to understand how a guitar works from a mechanical stand point, but another when combined with the ability to hear and feel the guitar working. Being able to put that all together and create a guitar is truly impressive to me. I am just hoping Taylor brings back their full size dreadnought line again though. I can appreciate the place in music that smaller body guitars have, but to me nothing beats a dreadnought, and I would love to see what Andy is able to create with that body style.

Taylor make some of the best guitars. I have two and going get another.
I use a 322ce at the moment, done hundreds of shows with it, never gone out of tune or let me down
It’s a great bit of kit , can’t recommend them highly enough .
If Taylor would like to donate a 514 ce cedar top . It would greatly appreciated 😆

Great sounding guitars. I need to try that BE 816ce. I recently got a BE 717e with its super sound and neck. Keep on guitarAneering Andy. Wonder what a 12 feet would sound like.

I bought this guitar recently from Sweetwater... AMAZING sound. While this isn't a twelve fret, it does have a shorter scale and light gauge strings. Very comfortable to play, along with the smooth, balanced sound of the Lutz Spruce top, this is a definite keeper!

Andy Powers invented wood. He also sacrificed his own horse and invented hide glue.Andy is responsible for water's existence by hide gluing hydrogen and oxygen molecules together....BUT, Andy's guitar innovations suck.V-Class bracing in these GA size guitars was a huge mistake.I own a 2019 914CE. Blechh.
