Does anyone know if Taylor will expand these to the other lines? I've not played one of these yet, but I love the idea of a large bodied guitar with a short scale. I'll take a 516 with cedar top please.
The Wood & Steel magazine pointed out another change to the Grand Symphony shape... a shorter scale length (24-7/8" instead of 25-1/2") and lighter strings (instead of the Medium gauge).
I bought one last year. It’s really a sound machine. I recorded a song with this and sent to my friend. He asked me is it your new guitar or the previous Martin HD 28e? I asked why u r telling this? He answered this sound has a separate and extended sustain sound.
Yet another great presentation, but I really didn’t pick up on the increased bottom end that you mention. Tbh… I’m really not impressed with the overall sound of this model, and the sound port appears to be nothing more than a gimmick.
It would also be good to mention some of the negatives of a guitar from time to time, and not to gloss them over... Take motorcycle reviews for example: They always talk about the positives as well as valid negatives.
Music Villa is a retail music store that sells guitars, and they review guitars that are in their inventory, and that they are trying to sell. If you want to hear “negatives”, you will most likely need to watch a review from someone who does not sell guitars… try Premier Guitar or Peghead Nation. BTW, I have purchased three guitars from the guys at Music Villa, and have a 4th on order… great service and selection! Question: are these motorcycle reviews being done by trade publications, or by retail motorcycle shops trying to sell motorcycles?BIG difference…
I wish there weren't so many players that think this is the only way to play a guitar- bright and jangly and tinny, with a slab of a pick, and playing more often close to the bridge. That might be the old-school Nashville/country way, but it's definitely NOT the way to get the best sound out of a guitar that is possible. The way it's being played here- it doesn't sound any different than a 2 or 3 hundred dollar mass produced Tak, or Yamaha, or Fender. Way to NOT take advantage of the instrument.

Sounds excellent and I just bought one!!

Nice concepts, though I'm surprised they didn't add the arm bevel on the larger body. A GS with the bevel makes sense, even more than the GA models.
I've played this already. Sure, it's not the best looking taylor out of the bunch, but it does sound great
It literally looks like 90 percent of the Taylor models out there just with that little sound hole.

It's close to perfect... Sounds awesome.
Sounds amazing
Excellent!
I have a Taylor guitar with a sound port too. I call mine the feedback machine.
Good playing! From what I can hear it sounds good and loud which I like 👍
Very nice.

I'm not a fan of finger nails strumming across the strings. It loses it's warmth a bit.

Greg Carpenter Right?! these guys praise everything its all a selling point.

Might make a person grab the wallet....Very cool.
Something wrong with the sound balance here. I want to like it, but...
A little too Boomy for my liking. I tend to like more focused sound. I can see the desire for some people to have one, but it's not for me.
Sometimes you need both.

Huge mistake taking out the armrest
All tin and no bass,.... or is it my speakers!?
Already invented by Scharpach guitars in Netherlands.
Not for me.
