    what kind of guiding service do you provide? i would love to come out and fish with you some time

    • @tightliningmd
      @tightliningmd  8 місяців тому +1

      I offer a wide range of options. I do half and full day personalized guided trips for 1-3 people. I offer clinics in a group setting, where you can sign up individually and participate with others learning on and off the stream. I also do Tight Lining Schools in the spring that are geared for learning that are shorter and time is spent on and off the water.
      Email me at jslepesky2@gmail.com and I can share more. Also, check out my website www.tightliningmd.com for more info/details.
      Thanks for leaving a comment and hopefully we can get something on the books for 2024! Tight lines!

    Nice job, Mike. I was dying for you to take a cast in that deep run. It looked juicy!

    • @tightliningmd
      @tightliningmd  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Cory,
      Casts were made lol. I will put out a streamer video of a few catches from this day. I don’t believe I got one from that run. They are in there. But sadly came from different areas that day. In spring and fall though they are more present. I think I had a flaws in that spot but it was a short strike. Definitely one of my favorite pieces of water to be on in general. Very productive with deep and shallow and good structure throughout. Thanks for watching my friend!

    Good tips Mike! 👍 Winter fishing is definitely harder. Did a float last Saturday before Valentines day, and dealt with eyelets freezing and I was cold as heck before the float ended. Tightlines

      Thanks! Floating in the winter? You are a brave man. Sorry it didn't go as planned, but that is the risk we take. Thankfully, warm weather will be here consistently soon!

    Rookie fly fisher. Great info. I certainly want to fish all through the year. I look forward to exploring your channel. And perhaps a guided educational trip to learn how to fish MD trout waters someday. Need to save my pennies first. Thanks!

      Thanks for watching. Through most of my videos I try to add some level of educational value in each one. Usually a tip or trick spread throughout. Hopefully you find some of the videos help. Stay with the process and hobby. It’s frustrating some days. But with time and experience you will figure it all out. Would love to help in that journey with a guide trip. Half day is a good place to start for getting acclimated. Just let me know when you are ready. In mean time have fun and right lines. 🎣

    Great video, how do you tie your tandem rig? I tie my tandem rig to the hook of the first fly, I see yours is a little different. Advantages/disadvantages to the way you tandem rig? Thanks, tight lines!

      Hey Brett,
      I put a 4-5 ft piece of tippet on, then I double surgeons in a second piece of 18 inches. I try to leave a 6 inch tag off the original tippet and tie my fly on that 6 inch tag, and another on the extra 18 inches I added on. Hope that helps!

    Third winter fishing season is drawing to a close here in Idaho. These are all EXCELLENT tips and advice to fish the cold season; well done !

      Thanks for watching. We really didn’t get a wi tee here this year. Literally no snow. No ice. Water temps stayed pretty warm all winter. Fishing was hit and miss as a result. Excited for spring but feel gypped for winter. Hopefully you had a good season and thanks again for watching and supporting! Tight lines.

      No problem Jerome. I hope some of the stuff I do help people out to learn more of the sport and help cut down on learning curve. Glad to hear you are finding success and enjoying fly fishing. This is why I do the channel. Thanks for sharing and tight lines!

      No problem Dale. Thank you for watching. Simple, but important and tried and true. Good luck when you come down this week. There is supposed to be a brief warm up like Thursday. And another early next week. Thankfully I guide on Monday, and they are calling for 60. SIXTY! Can't wait. Tight lines when you go!

    What stretch of GP are you fishing - without giving away your “ hot” spot!!

    • @tightliningmd

      My general advice is go where people aren't. I found that I was fishing Falls Rd, near the damn, and I was playing hopscotch all day. The more I explore other sections, and get away from the crowds, the better I do. Book a trip and I can show you some other lesser touched water. Tight lines Bill!

    What net do you use

    • @tightliningmd
      @tightliningmd  Рік тому

      I have a CatchCam net and a Rockspring Net. The latter is wooden. Both are great small companies and truly make great nets. Highly recommend both. One accessary I can't life without is the Hip Holster from CatchCam. Game changer for carrying nets of ANY brand.

      Love that! Sometimes you just don't know. I also can't take for granted that some people are new to the sport or just don't have the experience or person to lean on for help, like I have with you. Therefore, if one person took something away that catches one more fish, this was a win!
