I have been holding off in an attempt to hold of spending more upper $$ on aircraft but think I may have to go for purchasing the Phenom 300!!! Great review!

You're really pumping out the content now. Good to see! I am enjoying it.

Thank you Kiwi, I really enjoy the actual making of videos, but I dislike the editing. I used to edit heavily, and sometimes it took me up to an hour, per minute of video, so a 15 minute clip, with all else involved were a FULL weekend with at least 1 VERY late night.
Doing it raw in 1 shot, definitely makes my stuff longer and less slick, and it don't please the majority of the tiktok gen very much...
However, I realised (also from my tactical takeover channel) that doing single takes, with nothing more than a mute button to avoid coughing into the mic, really does produce something else, that a small percentage of people, really appreciate.
It's not very easy to define, but I'll call it something vague like "an authentic flow of consciousness, that's perfectly imperfect."
Those with low attention spans can't stand that sort of thing, nor perfectionists. If I say 3 things, and stumble over my words 3x (electric box, switch box, fuse box etc) then some will leave a comment like "omg" but everyone else will appreciate I didn't just cut it out, to try and fake perfection. That's a lot of assumptions there, but I believe it to be true, as social media becomes increasingly fake, is good to know there's still some of us, who appreciate the real.
      Speaking of real...
I would REALLY like to setup a thing where I could interview old timers (feels like I'm fast catching up myself!) who flew anytime, beforehand and up until about 2010 ish.
They'd get to share a great part of history, I'd enjoy talking about a subject I love, one that's fast becoming automated into extinction, and I suspect there's at least a hundred people around, who would enjoy hearing these kinda things.
      What do you think Kiwi?
Everytime some golden age flyboy or crewchief passes, it's like a library of aviation was lost as well.
To preserve some of this for today, tomorrow and future. Kinda similar in ideas to what some channels do with war veterans.
Whatever you think about that, I really appreciate your support, you been there since the very start of the channel 2-3 weeks ago, and somehow we managed to welcome 100 folk onboard, alongside us!

@@InternetFlightRules that's without doubt the longest answer I ever got to one of my comments on YT.
I honestly think I prefer the raw, basically unedited content, it comes over more natural. I could get into a major discussion about a lot of the current YT video world, doing so much crap to their videos with the sole intention of baiting clicks. But I'll leave that for another day. Long story short, natural is always better. Not just in the social media world, but anywhere. When I see what some women do to their bodies and faces these days I just have to cringe. Natural trumps every time.
Anyway, your idea is very good, I would like to see such interviews, one could learn a lot about the fly days of the past, I think you should go for it. I am not sure where you will be able to get hold of your subjects though, you'd surely know better than me.
I am just a bit shocked reading that pre 2010 is old timer history, it only seems like yesterday, who sped the clock up? 😎
Pre 2000, now that wouldn't shock me so much. So are you talking about pilots in general or airline pilots or what kind?

@@kiwinesss Thinking any sort of pilots, airliner would be the ideal goal, but if some military pilots etc, that would make for a nice mix. As for 2010 date, my thinking was if they retired flying then (or before) they were probably flying through much of the golden jet age. I'm also not exactly sure where to get hold of people like this, but I have a little idea that I'm going to try.
As for the being "real" and the fakeness that's currently invading social media, I'm not sure what's worse, the people who do it, or the people who click! It kinda freaks me out, but I suspect the high number of UA-camrs who suffer with "burnout" is because many are chasing these weird kinda stats, that force one to become increasingly fake and inauthentic ( there's a tiny tiny minority of people who are super likable, talented and grow massive without doing this, but they're RARE). I think the more you spend yourself online trying to be someone else, to get views and stuff, the unhappier you become. I see these kids with saucer eyes sometimes, and I wish I could just tell them... But my comment would be lost amongst a sea of otherwise, mostly gibberish where people just copy paste stuff over from the video before that got up voted.
You can probably tell, like you illuded to, I could go on for a very long time about this subject. I don't know what experience you had with it all, but the whole "keeping stuff moving on the screen to hold people's attention" etc - it's like c'mon, if I have to keep bright colours and text popping out the screen, with cut scenes every 5 seconds to boot to keep someone watching, is that REALLY the kind of person I wanna aim my videos at? They're gonna be the first to log off when the word context.... (user disconnected)

@@kiwinesss I've been making YT videos for 5 or 6 years and have garnered less than 3K subs. My average number of views per video is somewhere around 200, a meager number. I used to try to grow the channel but realized most folks simply don't like me. However, those that do are loyal. As InternetFlightRules mentioned, I spend hours editing after each video, so I'm leaning toward streaming. Editing, however, allows me to remove some of my blunders and misspeaks. If I streamed, I could put out over 2x the videos. I can't decide whether to stream on Twitch or UA-cam - doing both effectively requires a paid restreaming service.

Absolutely, even if they don't really do many biz jets, every new aircraft is still a big risk for companies outside the big 2

How does one get checklist for all planes on xplane? I wish the manufacturer can add them like in msfs

    • @InternetFlightRules
      @InternetFlightRules  Рік тому +1

      There's a couple ways,
      1) get the checklist mod, which the runs for all aircraft.
      2) my preferred method - just load the checklists as a .PDF file into avitab (the in cockpit tablet) and view it in there.
As you may know, I'm not one for checklists, but were it to matter for whatever reason in the SIM, that's how I'd do it.

Just for the record, most Devs include documentation in a subfolder under "aircraft" in the X-Plane folder.
