Thanks! This definitely needs more views!!! Also I placed a hood holder stick and popped out the hood holders on the side to push the hood all the way to the windshield. Made it so easy to take out the whole assembly. Thank you so much for this video!!!
Thank you for this video! Had mine switched out today in an hour and now it works perfectly. No more loud motor or it turning off intermittently. Also a big shoutout to whoever designed this to be able to replace so easily. Thank god I didn’t have to spend the night on the floorboard. 😂

wow never take anything to the dealer (some may disagree). Isn't this part around $100 and 1-1.5 hours to put in. Sounds like your dealer was looking to make some extra cash. BTW I have a Range Rover sport also. Dealer quoted me $2700 to fix a coolant leak, which we saw where it was coming from. Took it to my local garage, which I trust very much, $1400 later my leak was completely fixed.
Great video, thank you for posting. I highly recommend getting a new blower motor cover before you do this job (my screen was totally disintegrated. I bought mine from FCP Euro. Also, if you buy a new blower motor cover you have to take the sensor from the old cover and transfer it to the new cover (I used needle nose plyers to remove the sensor). The whole job (including clean up) took 1.5 hours.
Followed repair and fixed the problem I was having which is great, Had a question though. How do you transfer the sensor thing on the filter part to the new filter. I might be dumb but I was just wondering so when I buy the new one the repair goes good.
Hallo. Best Clip i found... shortest and mostly easiest way to change blower. I will do it the same way without disconnecting wires but with straighten up the hood for more place. My blower makes noise and cuts off from time to time. I wonder why... Barely 13 years old and already broken. Should I write a letter to BMW? Greetings. 🙂
2015 bmw 528i took electric cover off then filter cover I saw though the vents a small old leaf took my vacuum put a small hose inside the vacuum hose with tape around it and sucked the small leaf out all that noise from a small leaf unbelievable!!!! My filter had a hole in it went to lowes hardware bought a course ac filter 20 by 30 blue in color THAY have cut it to size silicone the to ends and it works perfect good air flow put back together works like new nice in quiet 😀
I have a question sir. I took my 2016 535i to get looked at because the heater does not work. The A/C works perfectly fine, amazingly might I say. However, when I switch to heat, it’ll blow air but no heat whatsoever. Would this fix the problem? Thanks for your time! (They replaced/cleaned out the heater core, flushed it as well) they think it might be the motor but the cold air blows perfectly fine, the hot air blows cold.
what if the air is low in the front vents but high when switch to the windshield defrost, does it mean that the motor is still bad or does the front windshield defrost uses a different motor?
Tip to get the blower motor out, at least on my car (2015 528i). I moved the cover with the electrical connections towards the fender and let it lay flat. Then I lifted the blower up and turned the opening with the flaps, so the opening was facing the fender and it slid right out.
HELP.... any one knows the problem?:.... I have an 2011 BMW 535i GT... (with 21,000 miles) that no blowing air the driver side., no cold or hot air....blowing the bottom ( i feel on my foot) ... left side all the vents blowing normal. It has climate control, when I Max the air flow, (right side) after I turn off the left side, I hear the motor running.
I have a bmw e60, and it only blows air warm/cold on top of the dash not anywhere else, not on the sides, not in the front or anywhere else but on the top center of the dash🤣 You or anybody in here have a idea what could cause this? Could it be the controll panel itself? Or the stepper motors that open and shut the flaps that distribute the air?
Great video! Short, well edited, to the point, with good tips. Now all I need is motivation to go do it in the cold😂
You can do it!!

Glad you like the video. That’s a good idea with the hood. Thanks for very much!

this video needs WAY more views.
I agree. Thank you for watching!
Brilliant video well explained. Just changed on my bmw f10. Is easily a diy job, under 2 hrs.
You’ve literally saved me $1400 (quote from dealer) - thank you!
That is too cool. I was happy to here to help Sommer save some money.. thank you for watching!

I thought I had to replace the BM but just taking it apart and cleaning it did the job.. So glad I watched this video, nice and easy 👍

As you said, nice to have access in the engine bay vs inside under the dash! 👍🏻
So much better

Excellent video with perfect comments! Thank you!
Thank you Brian for the video!
Thank you for watching!
Do you have to disconnect the car battery?
Thank you so much, this is a great video. So informative and easy to follow. Much appreciated

Great video. My m5 is going into the shop in the new year for a new blower
Do it yourself easy

Sounds like something is blocking the vent or you have a bad blend air door in the dash. Start by checking the cabin air filter.
How about the fan blowing some times and sometimes it stops. And it goes back and forth how it self see fit?
Great video. Thanks for the help.
4:02 on my 528i there were 4 torx screws instead of just 3, after that the blower slid right out
HELP! I need name of this white rubber element at 5:38. Need to replace it... some dude put a glue on that plastic that goes to blower part...
I don’t know the name of the part. The dealer would be your best bet.
Thanks for the video, right to the point.
Thank you for watching!
thank god brian you dont have to rip out the dash

Thank you very much mine wouldn’t move! Got it now
@@austinbender Glad it helped.
Mine was making noise, I replaced it and it worked fine for 2 days, then I replaced the cabin air filter and it's making noise in full blast

Man I wish my 2017 X5 had the blower motor where this 5 series does under the hood. Mine was behind the glove box and lots of disassembly
Yeah that’s not a fun one to do.

Hello. I had same problem. I solve it in the same way
@@KoljanRR nice. Thanks for watching!
Its it a special motor? I guess for the price of bmw parts the blower should smell like flowers when in operation
A blower motor for a 2014 535i is 150$. That's for the OE part made by Behr/Hella. It's not bad really.
Lol right
😂😂💐💐💐
👍
Thank you!
