Thank you for this video! Had mine switched out today in an hour and now it works perfectly. No more loud motor or it turning off intermittently. Also a big shoutout to whoever designed this to be able to replace so easily. Thank god I didn’t have to spend the night on the floorboard. 😂
I thought I had to replace the BM but just taking it apart and cleaning it did the job.. So glad I watched this video, nice and easy 👍
Great video, thank you for posting. I highly recommend getting a new blower motor cover before you do this job (my screen was totally disintegrated. I bought mine from FCP Euro. Also, if you buy a new blower motor cover you have to take the sensor from the old cover and transfer it to the new cover (I used needle nose plyers to remove the sensor). The whole job (including clean up) took 1.5 hours.
Great video! Short, well edited, to the point, with good tips. Now all I need is motivation to go do it in the cold😂
You can do it!!
This definitely needs more views!!! Also, I placed a hood holder stick and popped out the hood holders on both side to push the hood all the way to the windshield. Made it so easy to take out the whole assembly. Thank you so much for this video!!!❤❤❤
Thank you so much, this is a great video. So informative and easy to follow. Much appreciated
Excellent video with perfect comments! Thank you!
Thanks, Brian.
As you said, nice to have access in the engine bay vs inside under the dash! 👍🏻
So much better
Thank you Brian for the video!
Thank you for watching!
Great video. Thanks for the help.

Glad you like the video. That’s a good idea with the hood. Thanks for very much!
You’ve literally saved me $1400 (quote from dealer) - thank you!
That is too cool. I was happy to here to help Sommer save some money.. thank you for watching!
this video needs WAY more views.
I agree. Thank you for watching!
Great video. My m5 is going into the shop in the new year for a new blower
Do it yourself easy
Thanks for the video, right to the point.
Thank you for watching!
2015 bmw 528i took electric cover off then filter cover I saw though the vents a small old leaf took my vacuum put a small hose inside the vacuum hose with tape around it and sucked the small leaf out all that noise from a small leaf unbelievable!!!! My filter had a hole in it went to lowes hardware bought a course ac filter 20 by 30 blue in color THAY have cut it to size silicone the to ends and it works perfect good air flow put back together works like new nice in quiet 😀
Thank you for the video. How much time required from start to finish?
Followed repair and fixed the problem I was having which is great, Had a question though. How do you transfer the sensor thing on the filter part to the new filter. I might be dumb but I was just wondering so when I buy the new one the repair goes good.
Do you have to disconnect the car battery?
Tip to get the blower motor out, at least on my car (2015 528i). I moved the cover with the electrical connections towards the fender and let it lay flat. Then I lifted the blower up and turned the opening with the flaps, so the opening was facing the fender and it slid right out.
what if the air is low in the front vents but high when switch to the windshield defrost, does it mean that the motor is still bad or does the front windshield defrost uses a different motor?
Sounds like something is blocking the vent or you have a bad blend air door in the dash. Start by checking the cabin air filter.
How about the fan blowing some times and sometimes it stops. And it goes back and forth how it self see fit?
👍
Thank you!
Man I wish my 2017 X5 had the blower motor where this 5 series does under the hood. Mine was behind the glove box and lots of disassembly
Yeah that’s not a fun one to do.
HELP! I need name of this white rubber element at 5:38. Need to replace it... some dude put a glue on that plastic that goes to blower part...
I don’t know the name of the part. The dealer would be your best bet.
I have a bmw e60, and it only blows air warm/cold on top of the dash not anywhere else, not on the sides, not in the front or anywhere else but on the top center of the dash🤣
You or anybody in here have a idea what could cause this?
Could it be the controll panel itself?
Or the stepper motors that open and shut the flaps that distribute the air?

Its it a special motor? I guess for the price of bmw parts the blower should smell like flowers when in operation
A blower motor for a 2014 535i is 150$. That's for the OE part made by Behr/Hella. It's not bad really.
Lol right
