  • Part 2 where Matt from MT Performance Engines gets the 4age head ready to bolt onto the fully forged 7age bottom end (very informative). Big cams, port work, oversized valves and much more.

    You’re blessed to have a guy like this down under. I don’t think an engine builder this knowledgeable about 4A’s exists in the states.

    Your can grinder use the early cores we used. They are strong. But no metal treatment...

    Also are these 1.0mm or 1.5mm for the intake super tech valves. The site says 1.5 only

    I have a 1988 MR2 with a 4agze, and I was thinking about building a 7age with the stock supercharger. What are your thoughts on that build idea?

    I have a 7age 20v black top using the timing belt from the 16v .... whats the correct timing with toda cam gears and stock 4age crank gear cuz i used the 4age oil pump

    Did you not have the piston tops relieved to miss the valves

      Toyota 4age valves are two pieces friction welded from factory mine are machined from one piece so I’d argue mine are more durable and reliable

      I think do a true top dead centre, timing, and the cam timing need a little more adjusting, cause by looking at compression while you test is under 250 psi only. Between 2 and 5 degree timing is also important... by the look Matt doesn’t use the degree wheel, and a dial gauge to measure the cam duration,,,he guessing,,,so therefore need to find that sweet spot,,,so to save time use a degree wheel and a dial gauge so you can pin point for quick reference....that my opinion....I sponsored garage 4age channel.by buying his t shirt....
