Definitely the best one of the three Rainbow roads. I know I know, most people like the N-64 best and while the setting in the night sky with magical fireworks is spectacular, it's NOT ALL THAT FUN to play! It's a pretty linear track with a pair of annoying chain chumps. BTW, Bayesic, you could also put together a video on some SICK shortcuts in this Rainbow road. It may not be the fastest way to play, but if you can pull them off (and there are a few, both for 150 and 200cc) it takes your breath away.
People like the N64 version in online VS because it's one of the easiest courses in the game. Very boring imo. This version of rainbow road looks cooler and more fun to play
I have come up with a consistent method for the cannon glider (on 150cc anyways) Hop when you're halfway between the boost panel and the glider panel. This makes fast glider more consistent, though I haven't tested it enough to make it 100% reliable. While it may not be that much better, it's better than rolling the dice every time.
The hardest part of this course isn't that the course is hard... the hardest part is when in online you know what you are doing, so you get super far ahead, and then the cannon glider section screws up the item distribution; making it so second place can get OP items, even if they aren't that far behind in reality.
@@Bayesic It makes sense why the game factors in the distance away from first place, but if that’s the case, why put item boxes before cannon gliders? It just messes with the distance counter
I'm pretty sure the canon glider part is faster when holding down because it is actively raising you up, but that's just speculation. MK physics are weird man
Today at a gaming con got 2.08.899 with a clean mk8 file tomorrow going to try to qualify to get a spot on the main stage with streamers! Update: IM IN THE FINALS
It took a lot of training but I now managed to get a 2:02.900 for this track (using King Boo + Biddy buggy). I consider this as a really good time as I am only ~ 4 seconds away from the world record, but on the other hand, I am still wondering how people manage to get a cleaner run than mine. I really have no idea how to even take the turns more tight for instance.
@@Bayesic I really do exactly the same stats as the world records and I really cannot make the run cleaner on this track. That is why it is so strange that I am still 4 seconds behind
@@miguelthedarkbluelnerb1250 I’ve got three videos called “conquering the staff ghosts” that shows some beginner friendly lines for every track in the game. Hopefully that helps :-)
I will no longer become a shooting star falling off the rainbow road
Why do you need all those coins, does it not count as beating the ataff ghost?
It’s just cause coins make you go faster
@@Bayesic whait... really?
@@cubing_nerd_ yup! I’ve got a video in my deep dive playlist that breaks it down, but it’s basically a 5-6% increase in speed from having 10 coins
@@Bayesic ok! Thank you!
this helped me understand this track better. wish tutorials as good as this existed for other mario kart games :)
i know right

Agreed this is the best of the three for sure!

My favourite is SNES but yeah the N64 remake is meh... Not as bad as the original though
my favorite is snes but this is my second favorite!
No more falling off on the godly track
this track is actually fun now for me, thank you so much
i used to dislike it for the difficulty, LOVE IT NOW
Finding the ideal coin line was driving me nuts. Thanks!
I’m just trying to not fly off the edge every three seconds 🤣
Personally, I’ve never had trouble with this track, but my PB was only 2:12 so I needed this 😂
Mine was 2:10 lol

Man and I thought my 2:07.892 was good
edit: down to a 2:04,7
Wow, absolutely crushed my old PB!!! So helpful, thank you!!
This is the equivalent of 15 guys discussing there clash of clans attack plan

Yeah the itemization in this game definitely leaves a lot to be desired

Alright now it's time for rainbow road 200cc lmao
Please do a guide for Rainbow Road 200cc. That second turn always gets me.
Are there "official" world records for motion control only? Does such a sub category exist somewhere in the speedrunning community?
I am 4.7 seconds slower than your pb at the moment. Currently working on Toad Harbor, but I'll work on this track next and update with my results.
Got down to a 2:04.2, only 1.5 slower!

Awesome stuff!
Man I was proud to get under 2:09.00, I can definitely do better now, thanks!
Time to learn how to avoid atmospheric re-entry.
Damn, this is going to take a bit of work, thanks for the great video as always
6 left until golden wheels!

I just got 2:04.800 on this track!!! Using a baby character :D
For the life of me, I can't consistently nail that track switch shortcut

Very nice! Go get em!
i’m rlly enjoying these guides there’re awesome and rlly helpful Thx Keep it up bro
YEESSS!!! It's here. It's time for some training now.
I’ve finally mastered 150cc, but I cannot stay on the track at 200cc.
All about the brake on that course

Sick
yeah that tends to happen a lot as you get better at the game, like how the hell am I losing more than a full second per lap?
@@Bayesic I really do exactly the same stats as the world records and I really cannot make the run cleaner on this track. That is why it is so strange that I am still 4 seconds behind
i mean i have a 2:00.043 and its mostly just smoothness in the driving and consistency tbh
This helped out alot on timed trials
Gotta love Bayesic

Bravo
Can you do a tutorial on how to win a time trial race 150cc please
I’m not sure I understand what you mean, are you talking about how to beat the staff ghosts?
