Great video! I know others have said this before, but it's really great to see someone putting out quality videos about a topic they're very clearly passionate about. It's also great to see your videos improving in quality, especially with how helpful some of the comments on your previous videos have been. Don't worry about the time it takes to make these, I highly doubt anyone is expecting a strict upload schedule, and the quality definitely shows. I hope you keep making these, and most importantly I hope you keep enjoying playing Mario Kart. Have a great rest of your day, you certainly made mine better.
This video was SO USEFUL I've been waiting to see a video about all the shortcuts in the game for so long but this one is far better than I expected well done !!!
There’s also a pretty sweet shroomless cut on Dragon Drift way right as you exit the indoor dragon section at the start of the race where can hop over a pretty big gap to skip an entire turn! Love the video btw!
6:00 On 200cc, you don't even need to go in the upper tunnel or do a miniturbo. Just hop right before the offroad and trick off the ramp You dont even need to really hop to do it, but of course its slower that way
Man is it a breath of fresh air to see a relaxed and fun channel getting this much traffic. And they're really good videos too! I can tell you enjoy making them.
I don't even like Mario Kart all that much; but this is super entertaining! Hadn't realized how much.. depth, I guess? Was in this game! And your editing's super high-quality; it's really clear how much effort went into making this. At some points, though, it seems the background music jumped or cut out completely, which sounded a little odd. Specifically around 6:12-6:30 ish. I'm just really happy every time I get a notification that says you uploaded a video, is what I'm trying to say lol edit:minor spelling mistake
I can't say what hasn't already been said, but *damn* your videos are great! They're informative and straight to the point, and your editing has notably improved! I see a great future if you continue to make what you want!
Some editing feedback: I love the current style and aesthetic, But my single gripe is to how you do audio along with your visuals, if there's just more tactility with your sounds as things are being explained on screen, I believe it will be more engaging and/or appealing
been binging all your videos, damn you are good. there's not enough good short form nintendo youtubers out there and you are filling an awesome niche :)
I'd like to mention that in Big Blue in the final part where the roads divide, there are at least 2 spaces where one can hop into the other track instead of taking all the turns. Otherwise this video is very complete and a quite useful compilation and explanation of many shortcuts I've seen. Keep up the good work!
Great video, I didn't know some of these existed. I don't see anyone else commenting about this but I'm hearing some weird hiccups with the music, especially toward the end around the 6:00 mark. It seems to line up with the cuts in your voiceover.
I'm glad your channel is gaining in popularity! I hope you'll continue to only make the videos that you want to make, and that you make them at your own pace too. You should never feel stressed about an upload schedule. Just have fun with this channel and the passion will shine through in your content! We're always happy to wait too.
That's a pretty darn comprehensive video, and those animations are pretty darn great too! (Anywho, if you want some constructive criticism, I'd say that. It's worth trying to not abruptly cut your mic audio, as the abrupt absences of the mic noise do feel a little bit jarring. Maybe insert some filler mic noise or something in those bits, so it's a bit less jarring idk)
Can I just say, when I first heard a kid talking I thought it was going to be an amateur video, well let me first say I was wrong - this video was way more professional than the others I have seen and you ALSO include tips on how to actually make the shortcuts unlike other channels. I am very impressed - great work, great narration, fun animations.....I'll be watching more of your videos for sure
also in yoshi circuit you can go through the waterfall as a shortcut. and with the twisted mansion one i found you can clear that whole part with one shroom instead of two.
Nice video! I might suggest in the future, instead of displaying "Mushroom x2" just put two pictures of mushrooms there, it's a little easier to parse at a glace imo.
I really like how you skipped all the intended shortcuts. I thought I’d have to sit through a bunch of obvious ones I found in time trials, but I was pleasantly surprised!
Great video, one thing I'd like to mention is that the donut plains 2 shortcut does make you miss an item set on a course with only two of them, which is definitely something to consider while taking it
I loved your video, it's really very good!!! and I have learned many shortcuts that I did not know xdd. you are great, never leave youtube, you have talent
I didn't know about the ramp in Shyguy Falls. So many of these are shortcuts I never would have noticed because I wouldn't have thought hops would be so useful.
I just want to add: If you want to get the best time you can on Rainbow Road, you should use your first mushroom at the very beginning so you don’t have to wait to get to full speed. The following 2 mushrooms will be used at 3:16 on the FIRST 2 LAPS! This is because the slower lane will be on the right- use your mushrooms to get as close to the right as you can. On the last lap the lanes are reversed so you can use the right lane while drifting and you won’t lose time.
Fun fact for the rainbow road you used: there is actually a very VERY useful shroomless shortcut that saves at least 3 seconds in one part, and if you use a shroom while leaving the nunchuck into its initial position, you save a good 2 other seconds.
Awesome video, love your stuff! I don't normally like videos but I appreciate that you gave us a good reason to like and subscribe instead of just demanding it. I'm no content creator, but I'd love to see track maps on all the footage (you did it for most of them), as it helps me find what you're referencing faster. Also, I'd love to see some chapter/timestamp thingies so I can go back and look at a specific one later :) great stuff, much love!
Excellent video. I didn't know all of these ones. There's one that I love using that you didn't include. In MK8 Rainbow Road, in the 3rd section (the split curving section leading to the finish line) on the right side path, the 1st spin boost appears as the course takes a hard right. Instead of preparing for that turn, drive straight at the spin boost, and jump off the now left edge of the course. You will fly and land near the end of the left side path of that track section at the item boxes where the paths merge for the hard turn at the finish. Only works 100cc and above, and I find it saves at least a second, if not two. Plus it messes with blue shell pathing :P
you absolute saint I've been struggled with the dismount off the glider on dolphin at 200cc for god knows how long, never ever thought to keep goin with it! smh
On Donut plains 3, immediately after the shortcut you show, you can jump from the water to the "mole warning" sign using a mushroom and bounce back into the road. I have only done that on vanilla MK8 on WiiU a couple of times and I don't know if saves any time, but it looks pretty cool.
On the hyrule piste you can do the shortcut better. You have to aim between the wall and the tree and do the miniturbo AND jump right before the grass. You will see that will jump all over the grass. But anyway great video and keep going ❤
There are also many 200cc shortcuts you didn't include, like the shroomless shortcut on Yoshi Circuit, the gap jump on Dragon Driftway and a bigger version of the Big Blue shortcut.
Time stamps :) Yoshi 0:59 .2s saved Mario stadium 1:21 .3s saved Volcano 1:33 .3s saved mushroom required Twisted mansion 1:47 1.5s saved 2 mushrooms required Mario circut 2:02 1.5s 2mushrooms required Toad harbor 2:18 .4s saved Dolphin shoals 2:47 200cc .5s saved Rainbow road 2:59 .5s saved Dry dry desert 3:35 1-4s mushroom Donut planes 3:50 1.7s saved Mario’s gold mine 4:18 .2s saved (also there’s a major short cut where the machines go through right next to a tunnel) Big blue 4:30 1.5s saved Huyrule circuit 5:05 2-3s saved is possible without mushroom but sometimes required Shy guy falls 5:46 2s saved can be done without mushroom but sometimes required Let me know if anything is off or if you have any other short cuts to add :)
Hey jopes, I’m just a newbie to both your channel and Mario kart, and I was wondering if you could do a reverse of the statistics in the worst kart combo video, I.e. the best kart combo, so A): friends can use it to match or be batter than you, B): to help with time trial scores, and C): easy wins in online races, keep up the good content! Edit: if you do in fact make this video, it would be cool if you could put some live game play at the end with you and your friend in a voice chat, where they play the super kart while you either play the worst kart or your normal kart combo
depending on how long your car stays in the air, you can do so much more with some of those big blue shortcuts, making big blue on 200cc one of the most fun to run
Great video! I know others have said this before, but it's really great to see someone putting out quality videos about a topic they're very clearly passionate about. It's also great to see your videos improving in quality, especially with how helpful some of the comments on your previous videos have been. ^^^^^^^^
^^ spitting straight facts
this is so well said.
^^^^^^^^
i aint readin allat
I'd argue the ramps on the edges of the beginning and end of Wario's Gold Mine are intentional shortcuts
Same with the underwater Donut Plains 3 cut. You can see tire tracks leading out of the water at that exact location.
Yeah me too for both. But besides the wario one they're all at least somewhat difficult and aren't obvious at first glance
i'd say the same about mario's circuit
Shy guy falls is intentional
This video was SO USEFUL I've been waiting to see a video about all the shortcuts in the game for so long but this one is far better than I expected well done !!!
@DonFun Well good for you, I didn't so that's why I said that this video was useful

you should try out mkwii or mk8dx (this game) some time, it takes a bit of getting used to but I think you will have fun as you get better!
This video was very well edited. I've tried similar things in the past and doing good editing is actually harder than it looks. Keep it up!
I can't say what hasn't already been said, but *damn* your videos are great! They're informative and straight to the point, and your editing has notably improved! I see a great future if you continue to make what you want!
You are literally one of my favorite youtubers and whenever you upload it makes my day
Some editing feedback: I love the current style and aesthetic, But my single gripe is to how you do audio along with your visuals, if there's just more tactility with your sounds as things are being explained on screen, I believe it will be more engaging and/or appealing
Using some slow motion could help in some parts too
I love the videos, they give me ideas for the game and I ascertain a lot from your videos. Thank you and props to you. Keep it up!
Love your videos, keep it up!

These are shortcuts that I feel many people take for granted and don't do. They save more time than people give them credit for. Great video
That's a pretty darn comprehensive video, and those animations are pretty darn great too!

Gosh thanks for the help and great quality videos!!!

Great video and production quality as always, also your audio balancing has only improved! Looking forward to your next video!
Well done Video the mix between music and voice over was perfect this time.
you are fr one of the most underrated youtuber’s
High quality video lil guy... I appreciate your diligence and lack of dilly-dallying! subbed just off that
I really like how you skipped all the intended shortcuts. I thought I’d have to sit through a bunch of obvious ones I found in time trials, but I was pleasantly surprised!
I never knew about the Big Blue or Hyrule shortcuts before. Thanks!

I loved your video, it's really very good!!! and I have learned many shortcuts that I did not know xdd. you are great, never leave youtube, you have talent
Keep growing, also your thumbnails are really good for a small channel.
I didn't know about the ramp in Shyguy Falls. So many of these are shortcuts I never would have noticed because I wouldn't have thought hops would be so useful.
I love their videos so much, and they’ve only just begun!
Joey the homies love the advice we got you a sub
That’s another great video
YESSSS my favorite channel uploaded again :)
I don't even have a Wii U, neither a Switch, but your content is amazing. Keep it up!
Another great video, as always :)
As a fellow content creator, you should start doing game reviews. Love your channel!
I'd especially love to hear a review of Breath of the Wild (his favourite game)!
Great vid man just one thing the sound sometimes was a bit weird and cuts aswell, keep it up ur content is really Great though
Jopes: Then aim for the right of this arrow, and do a trick.
Jopes: *Doesn't trick*
Trickless, shroomless shortcuts fans: *it's free real estate*
Your videos keep improving in quality, keeping it up! Sincerely, an anonymous supporter
Crazy good editing for such a small channel! Keep it up from another small content creator.
Again, a new video really instructive ! Good job !
Nice video, been great to see you improve with each one. Keep it up!
Genuinely love your stuff a lot :)
Wake up babe new Jopes upload!
Great video, you have amazing voice imo. Your gameplay is quite nice
Dude your content is AMAZING. I wish i could be as productive as you are with my hobbies!
Well done, Jopes! Great video as always. Very informative.
I just want to add:

Great video! your explanations and way of speaking is just surpurb

His voice changed so much in 1 year
I thought he was a girl and it jumpscared me
another great video thought i knew most shortcuts but learned a few new ones
hi jopes i always look forward to your videos. keep it up
I love the video and the tricks.
Grow channel grow!
NEW JOPES LETS GOOO
shit I mean "first"
Second*
Great video as always Jopes!

Well done! I love the added detail of how much time it saves!
I don't play Mario Kart, but I can tell this is a really high quality video
Love you videos Jopes! Keep it up :)
Another good one. Learnt some new tricks for sure
hey jopes, just wanna say your videos are great and so happy you went viral 3 months ago you deserve it !
Nice video, well explained keep it up!
Another great video you seem like a natural
Excellent video. I didn't know all of these ones. There's one that I love using that you didn't include. In MK8 Rainbow Road, in the 3rd section (the split curving section leading to the finish line) on the right side path, the 1st spin boost appears as the course takes a hard right. Only works 100cc and above, and I find it saves at least a second, if not two. Plus it messes with blue shell pathing :P
It’s such a shame that such a good channel only has 50 k subs
Amazing video as always, incredible job!!
Also remember the bigger jump in big blue. That one cuts a lot of the middle part
you absolute saint I've been struggled with the dismount off the glider on dolphin at 200cc for god knows how long, never ever thought to keep goin with it! smh
God, if my sister was actually willing to play mario kart with me anymore these would be really helpful. Thanks!
On Donut plains 3, immediately after the shortcut you show, you can jump from the water to the "mole warning" sign using a mushroom and bounce back into the road. I have only done that on vanilla MK8 on WiiU a couple of times and I don't know if saves any time, but it looks pretty cool.

Awesome video! Can’t wait to try some of these while racing online (after practicing of course) 👍🏻
There are also many 200cc shortcuts you didn't include, like the shroomless shortcut on Yoshi Circuit, the gap jump on Dragon Driftway and a bigger version of the Big Blue shortcut.
Oh man, I’ve tried a lot of these but struggle a lot with doing them correctly
In rainbow road if you go on the lower path when they split you can drive off of the track and onto the other path twice, saving a lot of time
The second jump doesn’t actually save time btw.
Time stamps :)
Yoshi 0:59 .2s saved
Mario stadium 1:21 .3s saved
Volcano 1:33 .3s saved mushroom required
Twisted mansion 1:47 1.5s saved 2 mushrooms required
Mario circut 2:02 1.5s 2mushrooms required
Toad harbor 2:18 .4s saved
Dolphin shoals 2:47 200cc .5s saved
Rainbow road 2:59 .5s saved
Dry dry desert 3:35 1-4s mushroom
Donut planes 3:50 1.7s saved
Mario’s gold mine 4:18 .2s saved (also there’s a major short cut where the machines go through right next to a tunnel)
Big blue 4:30 1.5s saved
Huyrule circuit 5:05 2-3s saved is possible without mushroom but sometimes required
Shy guy falls 5:46 2s saved can be done without mushroom but sometimes required
Let me know if anything is off or if you have any other short cuts to add :)

Awesome tips! Thanks! 👍🏽
This will give me an even greater edge against my sibling with this video.
another banger video Jopes
Great video! I’ve done the last one once
seconded on the mario strikers, i know mario kart is your bread and butter but there's probably a lot to cover in that game
Great tips I didn’t know most of them but on the big blue one in the same place you can pull back left and save like 5 seconds shroomless
even though i know all of these short cuts i still found this interesting
Good video. Explained clearly
Fantastic content as always!
Bro I love your content
Thank you for this, I can beat my mom in mario kart even harder now
Good video and will probably use it when friends come over, but what’s with the music audio messing up? At some point, the music just cuts entirely
I really enjoy the retro motion graphics.
This is a really good video! Btw, where did you find the amount of time each shortcut saves?
Holy frick this kid cracked at 8Dx!
