4 trails 2-3 in case they are trapped forming triangle, also protects basket if ball is stolen. this play works well for youth basketball. very easy to teach kids this press break.
I don't know any team that runs a 2-2-1 press. I would kill them with my press break plays. Does 4 take a video of the play or play cards. Terrible play.
Not horrible, 1-4 press break is used widely for almost any press. I run similar, I just don’t give my players specific spots to run to, I tell them to look for openings in the zone and go there. Most defenses don’t run the 2-2-1 correctly anyway.
