This is a good zone press break, thank you, simple. Out of curiosity the one zone press you didn't cover which I see all the time is the 1-2-2. Is this not suitable for that one? A variation of that of course is the 1-3-1 set high . How would those work out?
We used it against all presses. We would end up in our 2-1-2 look. If middle cuts aren't there first time we would reverse ball and settle in the middle with PG. Once we hit the PG in the middle it could be a 3v2. Either alignment works though.
@@GetBetterBasketball coach do you have one for 2 2 1 press
@@h.e.cshano6937 I'll work on it
Will this work against a 1-3-1 half court trap
If they extend it to 3/4 court you can use it. You could go 4 across half but I would go with a 2-1-2 look. Middle opposite and attack. Or, across, Middle opposite, attack.
Everytime you passed it in you gave it to the 5. If you went to the other side obv the four would get it. What would happen if you couldnt pass it to either of those guys with that press break?
Good question. If we force a zone press to shift to the sideline it really opens up the middle. It would be perfect if they overshift to our taller player with a smaller guard. We hit the guard at the elbow middle who steps to the ball then have 2nd guard cut middle. Makes it easier for us. You could also throw up to the taller player then hit middle too. Either way, anytime we could hit one of the guards right away in the middle it was to our advantage.
Thank you
