Amazing; I have fathomed crossing the ocean the same way, and wonder if there would ever be a boat that went from Seattle to Dumaguete in the Philippines that would also take a lot more cargo than and airplane.

Is it possible to do this on most cargo ships, or is it quite difficult to find a ship willing to take you along? I'm considering travelling like this across the Indian Ocean.
Hi. Thank you for watching. It seems that now are less vessels than before allowing this. Since covid started it became more restrictive. But, try to get in contact and discuss with fleet managers. They might redirect you to an agent.

Can you tell us about the prices you know of for different cargo cruises? I recently booked a repositioning cruise across the Atlantic, with stops at 6 ports, for $1200. But I do prefer the idea of traveling with dozen people rather than three thousand! Hoping short trips will be more affordable?
How did you book this trip? I have googled endlessly and haven't been able to find a way. I want to take a transatlantic trip
I took a freighter cruise five years ago - I was the only passenger on board! :)

Is it better to book through an agent or is it much cheaper to go directly to the ship management?
Hi, for large cargo companies, for sure you have to go through an agent. Even if discussing first with the fleet manager, most probably will pass you to the agent, for boarding formalities.
On the other hand, agent will not proceed without owner’s instructions. So, best, first contact owners, fleet managers or super-intendants to talk about it and after agent for boarding formalities
Are you allowed to jump off the ship at ports along the way to check out the sights and get back on again?

Regarding your question, depends on port. During Covid, it was very strict.
Nowadays crew members or passengers onboard can disembark onshore and return to vessel. 🚢 before departure

Hi, They just drop a rope to service boat and lift the luggage up, or for more luggages and staffs, they use the nets crane to lift up all together 🙂

Oh I love this. I loathe the Disneyland cruise ships. I am 68 but athletic (I workout), so the ladders are easy for me. What was the frighter trip cost?

I will say, I recently went on a Disney Cruise, and absolutely loved it. I’m sorry your experience on them hasn’t been good.

I knew some Indians in the US. The accent you speaak English with is similar to the accent those Indians had.
My native tongue is Japanese. I graduated from a college in the US, so I knew many accents my friends from differnt countries had.
