  • Found nice sketch of the library and I really wanted to catch the atmosphere of the space, with that beautiful spiral stairs. This is not low poly by far and not exactly what you're used to see from me, but I hope you will like it anyway. Please, let me know :)
    Due to technical issue, the keyboard shortcuts aren't available in a later part of the video. Sorry for that :(

    Being truthful: Your vids are the MAIN reason I've been repolishing up my Blender skills! (Though I prefer the fact that I'm trying my best to relearn from scratch, including the experimenting of the hotkeys, preferences, materials, etc.). I'm nowhere near as skilled enough as you (yet) to make full dioramas-well, I can make little scenes with a few simple props, but I don't know if that counts. (My latest being a coffee cup with a spoon, milk, and three sugar packets). 😃
    Great job on the study, in advance! 😄

    I love it, hopefully helpful tip, if you have curves there's a geometry tab under the curves properties panel where you can add thickness or a bevel, very customisable, would've saved you a bit of tinkering with that particle system for the railing bars. Beautiful work! I love your stuff!

    • @polygonrunway
      @polygonrunway  4 роки тому

      So you would rather use those horizontal bars as a curves and modified the geometry? I sometimes do that, but with particles, it's easy to edit just the one object after that. Especially if they are not going in the straight row, but down the spiral as well. That would make difficult to select the center points for editing, woulnt it? And thanks for the tip and feedback, really appreciate it :)

    Hi, I am a (beginner-ish intermediate) and following this and recreating a version with little changes . can u explain what you did between 1:11:11 - 1:12:42.
    u created a diversity through nodes by using object info. from this, u created 2 books in one shader. then u created a new material named it book2, from here on forward I cannot comprehend what you did as it was too fast, how u ended up creating only 2 meshes which gave up to 4 book colours.
    I guess that you created 4 variations using object info in 2 materials????? Am I right?
    As I am short of textures of book covers, I am using object info to change the book cover colour.
    Your help and answer(explaination) would be appreciated. Will comment again when I am done with recreating this.

    • @polygonrunway
      @polygonrunway  4 роки тому +1

      Hi! You're right. First I wanted to have universal material for the books, but I ended up duplicating the material and switching only textures. Then I add these two books into the collection, and I instance the collection with particle system randomly, not the object, so I end up in random selection of 4 book types :)
