PFS: I've had my '09 c4s since new in 2010, a great time to buy:-) . I have done about half of the care & service, including rotors & pads @ 33k ('23 41k miles). Your vids are going to get me underneath my 911, so thank you, Paul

Glad to see that these video are helping you out or at least incentivizing you to tackle some additional projects on your car. These cars are fairly easy to work on as far as routine maintenance goes. Enjoy the ride!

I jumped in and bought an 09 997.2 cab back in September. My experience mirrors yours from a maintenance standpoint. Just replaced my tires with new Michelin PS4S and the new rubber helped my road noise. Don’t forget that FCP Euro has a lifetime warranty on everything they sell, including oil! I’m about to do my second oil change and plan to give their warranty process a try. Great cars and surprisingly easy to work on. Mines certainly worth more than I paid last year!

Glad you are loving your as well. So ….. are you telling me the lifetime warranty applies to oil as well? That seems too good to be true. I know it applies to consumables like rotors and brake pads. FCP Euro is a stand up organization. I love their service, prices and warranty. I will look into the PS4S tires. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Glad you found it useful. Really a relatively inexpensive car to own if you do the maintenance yourself.

The 997.2 engine is very reliable. However, the 2009 year, which is the first year of the 997.2, is the one to avoid. That is, get one from 2010-2012. I have a pdk 997.2 c4s which I bought in october 2018, which I think was the bottom of the depreciating curve for this car. I used to have a manual 996 and I can tell you its not worth it specially if you plan to drive this car a lot. Most people who are buying manual transmission porsches don't drive them that much, basically these cars become glorified garage queens. I mean, what is the point of having a manual transmission if you don't drive tbe car? You can get a set of michelin tires with 300 threadware for like $1200. As a comparison, my mom paid like $600 for a set of 4 tires for her 2014 Corolla. If you bought this car around 1.5 years ago, my guess is that it has apprciated like 20%.

Good to hear in regards to the depreciation. I will shop the tires a bit more. The on,y thing scary is the pdk service cost. I guess it’s the price you pay for admission.

      Why avoid 2009?
