  • In this video I remove the front bumper from my vehicle, I did this to clean out the radiators and install some grill protectors. Also refurbished the plastic pieces using the Eastwood product I used in my previous video. Only tools needed are as follows: T25 and T27 bits, screw driver and a pick tool to pull out the bumper/fender connector clips. Sorry for the choppy and poor camera work but my camera man is on strike.

Thanks for this, you're the only bumper removal video to show the proper way to disconnect the harness plug for the lights. Simple but not intuitive and kept me from breaking it. Much appreciated 👍

Great video. Just did this myself on my 997.2 C4S. Behind your amber side markers there should also be a torx screw holding the bumper to the fender. They’re vertical. Someone had been into my bumper at some point, also - the two electrical connectors are held together with zip ties cuz the previous idiots broke them both. These electrical connectors are different on the 997.2 versus 997.1. On the 997.1 these lights just come out the front of the bumper whereas on the 997.2 you have to remove the bumper to get them off.

Glad the video helped you out. This is my first Porsche so I wasn’t aware of the differences between the .1 and .2 cars. So far so good with mine. Thanks for watching.

Thanks You, Sir. I have been wanting to do this for a while and I had the same concern / question as Louis about reinstall of the clips. Also liked the Plasti-dip "Carrera" idea as I want to black out the my "Cayenne GTS" logo. Keep 'em comin'. I'm a subscriber now :-)

Thanks for the comment and kind words. Like you said another viewer had questions about the replacement of the front bumper fascia retainer clips. I went ahead and made a really quick video that shows how simple it is to replace the retaining clip. Hope this helps you out with your car. Thanks again for commenting and watching.

Hey, good video. How challenging was it to slide the 2 clips back into place. I believe that is the only reason why I am hesitating on completing this job so that I can also clean the front and rear of the radiators. Thanks

Ok so putting them back in easier than taking them out. They went in easily with hand pressure but I used a long socket extension and a hammer to lightly tap them into the fully “seated” position. Very light tapping with the hammer on the end of the socket extension is plenty of force to get them back in. Super easy job to complete and well worth it to clean out the radiators and AC condenser. I should have done a video on my installation of some screen to prevent this from happening again. Good luck and a super easy job to do.

Did I Fix That? Definitely all of your 997 videos have been very helpful.

Amber side markers? Is that a region specific thing? My 997.1 had them replaced (it was an U.S. car owned by "The Cake Boss" apparently.
If it's just a region thing - highly recommend the clear side markers - for $45 nothing else will update the look more!
Might just be Porsche people still being upset about fried eggs, so getting rid of any amber helps appease those peeps lol.
