And Neilsen...very VERY underrated and recognized. But then, same applies to vocals and bass!!! Cheap Trick!!! THANKS FOR SHARING!!!? Speak now or forever hold your peace!!
Bun E was just on fire at this particular gig. I've seen CT many, many times through the years, beginning in June '79, and this is probably the best Bun E performance I've ever seen. They say a band is only as good as it's drummer, and since Cheap Trick is one of the greatest bands in the history of rock and roll, well...
Seeing as they have (or rather had) arguably the best drummer in the world. Bun E is and always will be one of my favorite rock "stars". Rock on Bunzuelo Carlos.
This really was a hot performance from the whole band! Robin is exceptional vocally and sexually! ❣️💘 I met him in 1977 in Amarillo Texas after the show that they opened for Foreigner. Classy guy at 25 years old. 🥰
@@connormurphy7684 It was me with two other girls. We were 15 yrs. old. He was a true gentleman answering questions and signing posters. We were surprised by his Midwestern accent. He said the same about our Texas twang. 😁. This was just before Budokan when they had their meteoric rise to fame. Thanks for asking.
These guys blended together so well.. rick, robin, tom & bun e carlos doing so great on the drums, they were the true definition of a very talented, very good rock band..been a fan after hearing the 1st album...thanks for posting this, too bad the video sucks so bad...oh well
7 minutes in and already... YEAH, CALL AN AMBULANCE. CHEAP TRICK IS KICKING MY ASS AGAIN. Over 45 years now of me and them and the only thing that doesn't surprise me anymore is they never fail to rock my socks off.
Yeah August of 80. The Dream Police Tour. I remember talking to Rick at record store in Vancouver where he was judging an air guitar contest. After our conversation he had to catch the ferry across to play that night. They played the Pacific Collusieum the next night with Lover boy. That's the show I saw.
Epic really messed up the sales of the "Next Position Please" album by making "Dancing the Night Away" the first single. Should've been either "I Can't Take It" or Heaven's Falling"
This must have been the last tour that they included "Reach Out" in the set list. That was Pete Comita's song, and from what I remember there was some bad blood between Pete and CT over the inclusion of this song after he left the band. Too bad. It's a damn good song.
Pete's coke habit was hard on himself and the band tho he was a great bassist and fit for CT. That being said in light of the trouble between Robin and Bun I'd say Pete had a legitimate argument that Robin ripped him off.
Bootlegs are illegal throughout the universe. Read a modern contract and it'll blow your mind all of the incredible things they anticipate for the future and the past.
They must have gigged too many times with Van Halen and/or management stepped in as Robin Zander is clearly going through his David Lee Roth front-man phase with only a few songs on guitar. That along with losing he suits, tighter clothing and some bare chest action for the ladies. This must have been short lived as when I saw them in 1985 he was back to his old self and remained that way ever since.
And Neilsen...very VERY underrated and recognized. But then, same applies to vocals and bass!!! Cheap Trick!!! THANKS FOR SHARING!!!? Speak now or forever hold your peace!!
This would have been a great live album.
The world's most Underrated Band
Zander sounds incredible during this show! And so does Bun E. Carlos!
This is what Rock n Roll used to be like!
Powerful, Exciting and Melodic!

What a fucking great rock n roll band !
Damn, Bun made this band swing.
Yes he did... I miss him in this band
most powerful instrument on that stage is Robin's voice
His vocal range is astounding, one of the best overlooked rock vocalists in the world
This is a fantastic concert, the lone exception is how badly they managed the Motors, " Dancing the Night Away*.

Cheap Trick (and Aerosmith) only 2 bands EVER came out...no grills, no spectacle. Just came out and ROCKED!!!!
Oops....no frills! Although before hand, some grills were outside! Cheap Trick!!!!

got this on cd...obviously not an official release...arent "bootlegs" legal in europe? Samurai Rock Band is untouchable, though

Reach out best song on setlist
