i think this is the most Derk has ever talk in a video, this really feels like its his video as well, instead of just a guess star. it also shows he is alot more comfortable infront of camera, which allow him to be more expressive, and just be himself, and getting all the jokes in. i love it,
It's nice to see a husband and wife challenging each other and arguing about the food and rating like you two. Yet there seem to be a rivalry about who thinks what food is better, who's pick is better or worse. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Classic husband and wife action packed video this one. Love it! Let the rivalry continue!!!
Yeah. But tasting food is subjected to every individual, like Tofu pudding/douhua in China, it could be served as either sweet or salty dishes. Personal preferences matters
@@citruschaos9402The translation was pretty close though. The literal translation would be big mac salad pancake. The words in brackets below were actually bacon and meat floss which i am guessing are the fillings of the pancake.
@@HatsuneMiku-hl3sj oh wow so the translations are mostly accurate I guess I was intimated by the length and thought he just chose the shortest one without reading everything lol
This shopping mall looks realistic, just like going to another world, and it is great to choose any kind of noodle cuts and toppings we like. Merry early Christmas, Miss Amy. 🎄
Nothing beats a Chinese Mall. Clean, organised and nice vibes. They love the kids and cater for them. Very sensible. Food offerings choices are massive, often freshly cooked, from healthy to a bit indulgent.
I've never been to China, so I can't compare the two, but IMHO Derk is 100% correct about the sausage in Germany. One of my best memories in the world was a freezing cold night, just before Christmas, eating Nuremburg Bratwurst and drinking Glühwein at Christkindlesmarkt. Best holiday ever. 圣诞快乐, Frohe Weihnachten, & Merry Christmas!
😮 Wow...what a unique looking beautiful mall...looked like fun 😂...enjoy and Happy Holidays to Amy and Derk, subs and viewers....have a healthy and prosperous New Year to all ❤😊
Hearing so much german in your videos, makes them even better, now they are 11/10 😁 can you also speak german? Btw you need to make a Tsingtao episode with him, this would be super enjoyable, regarding the history of this city!
Hi Dirk. "Neck and Neck" is a an old horse racing term. It's popular in Australia along with others - The Melbourne Cup is a big race that has traditionally been known as the "Race that Stops the Nation". Many younger people don't like it for animal cruelty issues. YMMV.
We know the saying in Dutch as well, would have thought there'd be a similar saying in Germany... maybe there is, I must say a lot of the younger generation doesn't seem to know any sayings whatsoever 😅🫣 my nephews 10 and 11, and also their friends look like "they've seen water burning" (also well known Dutch saying) whenever any of us uses sentences like that.. 💀
Another great food adventure. I felt for you Amy when you were trying to get that bite of fruit pizza down - you poor thing. Wishing you and Derk and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! See you in 2025!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and Derk. And thanks again for an epic Chinese food adventure in 2024. May 2025 be another blessed and bountiful year for you both. 🙏
Northeast China is probably the easiest place to find salad-like dishes. People there love raw veggies like lettuce, radishes, and cucumbers with 大酱 dips, plus mixed salads. In the South, though, they mostly eat cooked veggies.
Amy pronouncation of 煎饼 is a little off. The closest we have to fruit pizza in Singapore is durian pizza. Pineapples on pizza is still ok, but dragonfruit and banana is just way over the top. With a signature dish of fruit pizza, its a miracle the shop hasnt gone down under yet.
You and husband are so adorable! You can't make us choose a team because I'm Team Amy & Team Husband. There's no choosing in this case. Merry Christmas and Happy new year!!! 🥰🥰
Amy, that fruit pizza is genuinely the scariest thing I've seen you try! My boyfriend was in China earlier this year for work, and his co-worker invited him to dinner out with his family. They went to Dominos, and I was so amazed to learn that it is a top quality chain there, with hand- made pizza crusts! It's also how I learned about Pizza Gloves. 😊His workmate ordered his all time fave- Durian Pizza!
Hoping that you won’t get food PTSD after eating that pizza. 😂 The expression on your face was priceless… 😫🤣🤪 But seriously, yours is one of my favorite channels on YT. Keep up the fantastic work, Amy. And wishing you & Derk more beautiful adventures & blessings in 2025. Happy CHRISTmas!
Thank you for sharing . Derk is hilarious here. Not shy on anything. Challenging the wife in her own channel 😅 I have to say the Jianbing. Who would thought that pizza was that bad. Isn't it like Hawaiian pizza... Merry Christmas Amy, Derk and families.!!!!😊
Oddly enough, one of my new favorite ways to eat apple pie is with some sharp cheddar melted on top. I think it’s entirely possible to have a delicious fruit pizza with cheese, it just depends on using the right type of cheese and fruit.
I didn't know Derk enjoyed stinky tofu (one of my all-time favourite street foods since childhood!). I've always enjoyed watching non-Chinese people's reactions to stinky tofu and durian (unsurprisingly my favourite fruit). Amy, fruit and ketchup on pizza (except pineapple)....or overall fruit with cheese, I can understand why you cried. What a challenge! Also team Amy because liangpi, yumssss~~~
Actually I’ve seen fruit pizza in Australia as a dessert though - banana and Nutella and sometimes strawberry, but never with cheese. In the 90s I used to get this banana custard calzone as dessert at my local Sydney pizza place.
In the West, pizzas don't come with ketchup. The usual sauce for pizza is the garlic sauce. In rare cases, some customer may request a cup of the sauce that is placed on pizza between the pizza dough and the cheese and toppings. Ketchup is used for French fries, chicken nuggets, etc.
That was fun! Amazing mall! In the US, fruit pizza has a crust made of sugar cookie dough, then some cake icing and then a variety of fruit. No cheese or mayo.
Ten years ago, I traveled to Germany and found that the German sausages and sauerkraut I ate in Munich were no different from those in Northeast China.
11 years ago I was on a business trip in Frankfurt, where there is kind of the Wall Street of Germany area and in the middle of the day people who works there would come down from their offices for foods in the street. what surprised me was that all those fancy dressing people were just shoving down some hot dogs (with "German quality sausages" of course) and call it a lunch. I mean, In China hot dogs are looked at as a quick fix for hunger, like when you're in a pinch and just need something to eat, similar to jianbing guozi. They're not really seen as a formal, enjoyable sit down meal that provides emotional satisfaction. for office workers in China, as early as 11am before the noon people in the online chat groups would already start the topic of "ok folks what should we eat for lunch today".
That pizza is pure evil XD, i swear to Lucifer if anyone makes me eat that pizza he will get 豆汁 in his caffee in return 😆. Btw im rally glad to see Dirk getting more and more comfortable in your videos and showing his germany side, dorky and cute
I feel the fruit in the pizza has made the pizza healthier. Good for everyone especially the kids to fulfill their daily fruit intake while indulging in carbs. 😂
