Great discussion! I don’t have the nostalgia for Mother 2 like I do with Mother 1. I played the bootlegged English copy of M1 when I was a teenager and loved it for how it felt like a classic NES jRPG, but I didn’t playthrough M2 until it appeared on the Virtual Console years later. And I love how Discord allows creators to come together. It’s helped me meet so many great content creators, but also get some awesome advice on a number of topics specific to distributing videos here on YT.
Interesting!! Mother 1 was a game I first played on a 25th anniversary rom hack cart. It’s pretty cool but super super old school! But yeah discord has been a great asset for me in chatting and networking with other people. Incredibly handy!!
I've introduced my daugther to video games when she was 2 with little big planet. Now she's 11 and gaming weekends is our thing. She's not much into platformers because it's like she doesn't get the 'physics' of it but she enjoys management and sim type of games. She also likes retro RPGs. She had a passion for final fantasy tactics when she was 7 or 8 and she would chat about it with me like how are we gonna manage our party and so on. It's so nice to be able to share the passion with her and it brings us closer. Plus, she's super competitive so Mario Party evenings are always a show to behold. Thanks for the video. nice seeing you two chat around.
That’s awesome!!! I love that so much. It’s great that you can involve her and overtime she gets her own unique taste for games. So cool!! Thanks for tuning in!!
Amazing convo! I related to so much from growing up in the 90s to being a gaming parent. Paige was definitely one of my main inspirations for getting through my backlog. I also relate with side quests. I don't always do them. I try to try the side stuff at least once. But I don't have the time to sit down and actually plat a game
Finally got to listen to you guys this morning! Such a great discussion, so much to unpack! I really need to take a 'Paige' out of Femtrooper's book and take the risk with video creation and just enjoy making UA-cam videos because I want to. I tend to overthink my video ideas, and really need to stop stressing and simply enjoy myself!
This was rad, man. I originally found Paige through a mutual friend via Twitter a couple years back, so it's cool seeing the two of you talk in such a chill and candid way.
Thanks!! Yeah this was a really low key chat, which is really good. Sometimes I get a bit nervous cause I don’t know the guests very well but since we’ve been chatting for a while it was very relaxed and fun!
Been following Paige’s channel for the last year. Been enjoying her topics and the way she presents the material. Enjoyed the conversation you two had and kept things flowing naturally. 🎉
jrpg can be a hard genre to get into in my opinion. A lot of fans get into jrpg because they played it when they're young. If it's not nostalgia then maybe you played it during a particular time in your life that leave a memorable impact on you or you just don't have any friends to talk to.
My parents definitely didn’t get video games when I was growing up but I do have a memory of my mom learning how to play tmnt on the nes and we would play together a lot during the summer.
Great convo! Erek, all of these podcast conversations are so wonderful because they are authentic and engaging. Love seeing all of these perspectives! Keep it up! :)
That was a great listen. And I'm planning to discover Dragon Quest now, like you I've only played XI. Oh, and I introduced my kids to gaming way earlier than Paige 😂
THANK YOU FOR HAVING ME ON! This was so awesome!!! 100% would do it again! :)
The pleasure is all mine!! Thanks for making time for me. I’m sure we’ll do it again!!!!
