It's interesting to know what happend, and how this was possible to happen.
Investigation is still going on.
But safety in aviation... (and in general) is important.

mightymkl yeah, humans can make errors, it’s something natural. But it’s important to try and avoid it as much as you can. Especially while doing something like flying a plane with 150 passengers onboard. Anyway, it’s interesting for sure! :)

Great video Captain … and great airplane the best ever made !! Just a question .. the Vnav e Lnav you swicht on after 400 ft call out ?
We couldn't arm LNAV because the first turn was more than 5 degrees from the beginning of the SID. So we departed with heading select. Passing 400ft we are able to select LNAV.
VNAV was enunciated on the PFD so we called it, but was already on.

There is a basic knowledge needed prior starting your ATPL.
If you have that... then there should be no problem.

Nieuwe procedure dat de pnf zijn hand tot v1 op de throttles houdt? Ik dacht dat dat (voorheen) door de pf gedaan werd.....
De captain neemt na Thrust set. de throttles altijd over...
als hij PF is dan heeft hij ze al.
"Quick turn-a-round"? Aan je kleurtje te zien had je wel een paar daagjes zon gepakt daar... Trouwens hebben jullie ooit fysiek of mentaal "problemen" gehad met de continue switchen van klimaat tussen het vertrek en eindpunt ?
Na een week werd het wel weer eens tijd inderdaad! 😂
Onze omdraai is meestal 45 minuten... soms korter zelfs.
Daarin moeten de mensen er uit... en er weer in.. brandstof tanken etc.
(Dit kleurtje was van de Hollandse zon... "oude" opname).
Mooi filmpje weer Michael! Moesten jullie nu op de baan zelf wachten totdat de toren jullie toestemming gaf om op te stijgen? Dit gebeurt soms ook al eerder toch als je nog aan het taxiën bent naar de baan?
Klopt... we mochten niet eerder dan een bepaalde tijd airborn zijn... dus moesten we wachten. Als er dan geen verkeer komt... mag je soms al oplijnen.

Altijd interessant en vermakelijk om naar je video's te kijken! Mag ik vragen waar je je opleiding hebt gedaan? Ik bekijk verschillende vliegopleidingen zodat ook ik mijn droom hopelijk kan waarmaken.
Mijn vliegopleiding bestaat niet meer. Het was de EAA (European Aviation Agency).

Michael, gebeurt het vaak dat er een doorstart wordt gemaakt bij een landing? Wij hadden afgelopen maandag een Transavia vlucht van Athene naar Eindhoven, waarbij de landing werd afgebroken en een "go-around" gemaakt werd. Blijkbaar was er een probleem met het ILS signaal vanuit Eindhoven?
Goeie vraag.
Het gebeurd niet vaak. Dus dit meemaken is in mijn ogen super tof! Alleen denkt niet iedereen daar hetzelfde over. Vaak is initieel niet bekend waarom we een doorstart maken en mensen met vliegangst denken gelijk dat ze in een aflevering van National Geographic zitten. Meestal laat de vlieger wel even wat horen vanuit de cockpit en is de spanning weer uit de cabine. (Lees, weg bij de passagiers).
Trouwens een doorstart is 1 van de veiligste opties als er iets gebeurd en je niet direct kan uitvinden wat er gebeurd. We trainen dit vaak in de simulator.
@@mightymkl Ik had inderdaad al snel door dat het een doorstart was door het snelle optrekken.
De andere passagiers vonden dit wel minder tof! Na de doorstart werd inderdaad gecommuniceerd door de piloot dat er bij het landen een systeem in Eindhoven uitgeschakeld was en dit niet aan de piloot was doorgegeven.
Minimale hoogte was 1770ft, dus nog eindje van de grond veronderstel ik.

wat vind jij van die Air Europa piloot die SQUAWK 7500 gebruikte om te laten zien aan piloot in opleiding?
Ik weet niet wat daar gebeurd is.
De uitleg over deze code lijkt me onnodig... want die is al in de basis opleiding gegeven.
Ik heb het idee dat de vlieger niet het idee heeft gehad wat de impact zou zijn bij het instellen van deze code....
nice, ideetje om keer hele vlucht te doen? bedoel dus take off en landing van dezelfde vlucht. wat ook wel interessant is om keertje de briefing te doen? of red je dat niet met je go pro?
Ik ga dat niet redden met de GoPro... Maar het is ook wel erg saai hoor... een hele vlucht 1 op 1 van A naar B. Ik heb dat 1 keer gedaan trouwens... dat was een korte vlucht van Amsterdam naar Rotterdam. Misschien heb je die al gezien.
Maar.... je brengt me wel aan het denken... en misschien ga ik er toch iets mee doen.
Ook de briefings... al moet ik zeggen dat ik niet met camera's bezig wil zijn tijdens zo'n belangrijk onderdeel van de vlucht. Safety first you know! :-D

@@mightymkl hele vlucht is misschien ook wel tikkie saai. Misschien idd landing en take off apart posten. 👍 Safety briefing van te voren go pro aanzetten in vaste opstelling een oplossing? Of misschien ander idee: walk around posten, hoewel je dan eigenlijk ook weer met het veiligheids issue zit. Anyways thanks in ieder geval voor de leuke en interessante posts die je er al op hebt gezet
Ik kan je alleen zeggen dat ik dit soort ideeën waardeer en dat ik ze ook onthoud... maar dat ik je helaas niets kan beloven. Safety en werk gaan voor de hobby! 😜
