What I have LOVED about CSM part 2 is how Denji really has shown to have matured enough to drop anything and everything for Nayutas benefit.

You can hear the excitement in Sufferents' voice. I was also not too sure about the chapter when I first read it, but on a reread, it finally feels like Fujimoto is bringing together everything that has been set up so far.

I wasn’t questioning a lot of things while reading, but I was SUPER CONCERNED WHEN KUMBAYA was being sung. I mean that's not a normal song that a Japanese person would just up and start singing out of the blue, it could be a trigger to make his abilities stronger?

Fujimoto is a South Park enjoyer and I can guarantee the CSM community that he has watched Something Walmart Comes This Way. There is a scene where Randy and the townsfolk burn down Walmart and sing the same song Barem is singing only for the store to comeback and the store itself is somewhat of a demonic entity so for those that understand the Kumbaya reference this is foreshadowing that something really bad is going to happen next chapter. I’m on the edge of my seat for what’s gonna happen next.
I imagine the fake justice devil is Fami herself, she has scales symbolism as her earrings, which is usually associated with justice
She can manipulate devils forcely create contracts. Every horsemens unique ability is they can make contracts from all devils including primals. Its all Fami's work since she is the brains and preparing an army against her sister death. I just wanna see someday how war devil create contracts too.

War did make contract with asa by owning her entire body. Idk if she might be hybrid becoz its quite debatable. Second is fami making contract with falling devil and justice devil Plus the mystery devil (no info) we dont know what are the terms of their contract but for some reason they work for fami so it counted as they have contract.

I do wanna give you credit for Fami's example though. (Although her being able to summon those devils might be a result of her specific ability, a deal one of her followers had made with those devils or them just seeing her as their "master")
i think asa being taken into custody and meeting reze(they said they had taken csm churches "heavy weaponry") would be a perfect way to put reze back into the story
one thing that’s definitely easy to miss, and could very well be a red herring, but, Fami is yet to appear in this whole situation. she’s definitely up to something. most concerning thing about that is Nayuta’s one line is, “i’m starving”. could totally not be entirely literal, but Fujimoto loves his subtle foreshadowing

I was going to post a lot of my thoughts about Fami and Justice (especially considering the fact that Fujimoto had kinda told us that Fami was the one who was giving out the contracts, seeing as how she had healed and buffed Yuko). But instead I just need to praise Barem.
All of his plans were ruined, he's done nothing but sit on a bench for the past 4 chapters and even then he continues to be entertaining as hell, and something tells me he is going to go off with his Plan B very soon. If Fujimoto does him well he will probably be my favorite antagonist in this series so far (besides Makima), but so far he has really impressed me.

I think the next chapter (or two) will be the trigger for a whole series of actions or twists, as we've already had a taste of with Part 1 (Katana Man / Reze / Santa Claus). I have a feeling that Berem is going to "set things on fire".

I just realized that justice is always depicted as two scales, which is the exact thing that Fami is associated with. Her power probably allows her to create a lot of "copies" of the justice devil and that's how the chainsaw man church can make a lot of contracts with the same devil
Just a small detail I noticed, Fumiko specifically mentions that public safety already has “Bow” and “katana”, so this does mean that Reze is either a part of the csm church or completely on her own. Maybe that’s who Barem is waiting for to show up, I don’t know. Still absolutely love this chapter and can’t wait for next week’s as well.

Fami is most likely the “justice devil” that’s giving these people contracts. Think about it: a person contracted with them was apart of the church, yuko said “the justice devil is at the school”, she’s a horseman so she’s powerful to make contracts with nothing in return, and symbolically justice and famine both hold the same object of scales
my main theory about barem is that he's calling fakesaw man over which is more realistic i think
however a far scarier theory is that he's calling the darkness devil over as he's waiting for the sun to set
i think it's much more likely fakesaw will appear but i can't just discard the darkness devil possibility no matter how stupid it sounds
i’m really hoping it’s make sense if you continue on with the same plot points being continued from part 1. this would be the arc where the darkness devil shows up and waiting for sunset i believe it homestly

@@dooplon5083They might not but I'm sure they can get abilities from contracts. We already know people can use multiple contracts example being Aki and Kishibe and the abilities that a devil gives can vary a lot that some contracts allow transformation. Example is Yuko and Class Prez.
@@globurim Indeed, the "justice devil" contracts are a prime example of that as well as the zombie devil but in that case you gotta keep in mind that the transformation of the fake seems to be completely unrelated to any devil we've seen so far, even the mysterious "justice devil", so knows where this will lead lol

My tiny brain wasn’t even thinking about chapter one with the classmate who had the contract with the “justice” devil.
Does this mean that Asa was set up from the very beginning? Could War actually be involved with this fake-Justice devil??
Also, on a list of returning characters, I am still waiting on Yuko to pop back up. Ain’t no way she gets killed kind of “off screen” and doesn’t re-appear.
We also have Rize and Blood/Power too.

Rize would definitely have the training and expertise in breaking out Asa & causing a scene to distract the Devil Hunter’s. I think with all the Weapons being brought up this would be a great segue into her re-introduction. Would love to see her feel some jealousy towards Asa as I feel like Rize would have been keeping tabs on Denji and know they have a connection
Looking back, Fami was able to summon and return Falling Devil. She's also behind the Church's doing as well. Fami wanted to starve War devil and turn her into her pawns much like Falling Devil which I think is already going that way. It's also worth noting that Fami could very likely be playing on both sides to make sure things go according to plan to prevent the prophercy from happening. So what if the main Villain isn't Fami even though she is one of the 4 hoursemen but someone else? If her intentions are to prevent the nostradamus prophecy, then it's highly possible that the Fake Chainsaw Man could be against Fami's wishes and also be the one to make the prophercy come true. Perhaps even be the main villain that fights Asa and successfully kill her?

I had the exact same mindset by the end of the chapter I felt like 'oh no, something big is about to go down.' Now I wouldn't be upset if it's not coming next chapter or ends up being nothing altogether, but I was super on edge with this chapter too. Really feels like some things are coming together that have been festering since the beginning of part 2. Either way this was a cool ass chapter that gave me the feel of part 1 again with how fast it went. As always love your videos and commentary!

It was a very very clever misdirect tbh. In falling arc everyone was super-focused on Falling devil & Fakesaw man, no one gave a shit about that worm. The fact that it weilds a gavel, wears a napkin and has no eyes just makes it very obvious that it was justice devil all along. Fami is fooling Asa and everyone in the story. There's still so much mystery left to unpack. Fuji knows what he's doing 😂

Imo fujimoto has mastered the art of off screen story telling, I could believe In the time we've been away from asa she could have gotten significantly stronger without it feeling like an ass pull
Well the difference with Asa and say, another character that might get an "ass pull power up" is that it's been established in the story that she has been killing devils for the CSM Church and become their poster child. That is largely offscreen, yes, but her increase in strength doesn't come out of nowhere because it's been set up. Also, Asa is such a good character in general that she manages to have impact even when she's not present in the story for a period of time.

This was a huge chapter. So many important and interesting things happened and were said.
I also think a primordial fear is about to show up. Just looking at that sunset, it felt very ominous. Adding to that Barem's demeanour and the conversations the hybrids had in the previous chapters, referring to this "God". The already speculated God Devil, or maybe some other primordial, will maybe descend.
I loved the fact that we got confirmation that Public Safety knew about War Devil and that they've been using both Asa and Denji as weapons. I'm gonna say it again, this makes the ending of Part 1 very sinister.
Asa suspected that Fami was the Justice Devil, and to be honest at this point it might not even matter if there was an actual Justice Devil or not, because Fami's been here since the beginning of Part 2 as the puppeteer. She corrupted and used countless students and even summoned Falling Devil. Ever since she made her appearance, I always had a feeling she was the true "Justice Devil".
I really liked Asa's development and growth. I always hoped she would get to this stage where she had this mental capability and spirit to fight. And the fact that Yoshida cut her arm off is great, because what she lacks is experience in a real fight where she gets destroyed. It's something Denji went through many times before, getting his body cut into pieces, getting revived and then getting back into the fight.
It's also very exciting to see if and how fast she can regenerate, because then we'll also have more of a clue as to exactly what kind of being she would be classified as.
Last thing I'm gonna say, Fami and Barem seem to have gotten a lot of L's, but I think all of them were planned and next chapter I'm expecting Public Safety to completely get decimated. This massive public opperation is so sudden and serious. They're even trying to counteract Fami's influence of the public perception through their own propaganda.

For example, if public safety wanted to turn denji into a weapon. Since denji already worked for them, why dont they?
Another important one is how they know asap is the war devil, yet they have never talked about nayuta being the control devil. Do they know this? If they do, why don't they bring their best weapon back? Along with denji whom they want to be a weapon for them or something

Not comparing it with its part 1, but just as a story in general
Part 2 is definitely slower but it's obvious Fujimoto wanted to write something different, but it's not the story's fault that you can't follow the reasoning, not to sound like an ass but you said it yourself, a lot of your questions already have answers but they are never outright stated, Fujimoto has always been show don't tell type of writer, not just in CSM but his other works too that's why many praise him for being a talented creative.

I have read fujimotos works too, but This new way he is writing csm in particular doesn't work with " his show don't tell " type of writing.
A good story shouldn't need to give it's reader homework all the time and never answer any of them. Which is what it feels like he's doing in part 2.
II'm an overthinker so each question I have like 3 possible answers. I have guesses sure, but I need the real answer.

@@davidogan2482Ok well firstly don't bring in other people, you can say a lot of people don't like it but I can also say a lot of people do like it and we can argue all day lol the point I was making was in your first comment was you felt like there were no answers when they are clearly there. That is a true or false statement, If you personally don't like it or feel like it's too much work that's perfectly fine to feel that way but part 1 was also like that, we didn't know anything about pochita, Makima, or the gun devil, TILL THE FINAL ARC so to me that story flow is pretty much the same as part 1 only slower because Fujimoto wants to actually flesh out his characters and world which I'm 100% here for. And I guess final note, there are plenty more complex and deep stories with tons of unanswered questions than CSM and people absolutely love them. AOT, Monster, Berserk, HXH just to name a few.
Hope something good happens in the next chapters because this is becoming boring (imo)
