1992 Toyota MR2 with a 1MZ-FE V6 engine swap, just been finished, a few little things to tidy up but for the most part done. Car now all done, Quick flyby video here • 1992 Toyota Mr2 v6 1mz...
I was just gifted a 2005 1MZ-FE Camry with 135,000 km, owned by an older fellow, original owner and after doing some research and seeing your video, I feel like I've won the lottery of cars. Super-reliable motor with good economy and power, sounds great and lasts forever. I won't ever do something like this, but damn that's a great project. I love the MR2.
This thing must pull hard. I know the 1mz-fe is a powerful engine, but mostly it is bottlenecked by heavy cars, like the 5th gen camrys. my car's 4000 pounds and the pulls are not bad at all, i can only imagine how it must pull with 1500 less pounds. unreal. very cool build.
Love the swap, big fan of factory Toyo to Toyo swaps. One question I have is what year is the 1mz motor you put into the 92 mr2? Did you have to modify anything for the lower mounts, or axles which ones do you use mr2 or Windom or combo? Asking because I want to put a 3sgte manual swap in my 97 Windom.
Hey mate. This is neat. Just trying to source a donor Camry at the moment. What should I be looking for, I know sludge can be an issue, is smoke the only giveaway? How many ks on your donor car?
Did you wrinkle paint the inlet manifold and top cover yourself or get it done by someone. Looks good. I doing a 3VZ-FE turbo swap, but want to detail some of the engine components like the intake manifold etc.
Hey bro, I am looking at preforming this same swap with my 1990 sw20. I was just wondering what certifications were required for this swap in New Zealand.
One of my favorite sounding V6's. Also I really like what you did with the wrinkle paint.
That engine cover looks very nice with the matte black spray and the red text!

Awesome project. How did it improve your linear performance? Did it deprecate braking or cornering?

is it faster than a stock 91 turbo?
High key. When I heard the lawn mower was like wtf. Man's car sounds like a honda
Isn't the toyota Windom what they call the lexus es300 in Europe and japan
Hey, what fuel pressure regulator did you use?
The transmission hooked up ok?
Where did you find your engine mounts?
