Thanks for doing this, I had never really heard of this collection before. It's interesting that, like all other 'complete' collections, it omits the 1977 Elvis in Concert material. EPE must have nixed including it--it likes to pretend that these recordings never existed.
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it! I guess in this case, the justification is that it presents all the masters released during Elvis's lifetime, and EIC is excluded due to it being a posthumous release
Thanks, Sean. I've always been curious about this set. I have to say, they did a good job carrying the "themes" idea all the way through Elvis' entire catalogue, even if one or two of the connections are a bit tenuous. Very nice presentation, thanks.
I see that set on Ebay not too long ago but can't remember what it was going for. I think it is a truly gorgeous set but I've reached that point were I don't wanna keep buying music I don't need, I collect so many other artists. Luv the show.
I have this Franklin Mint Box-Set in my Collection but my favorite is "The Complete Elvis Presley Masters" (numbered Edition) from 2010, it's absolutely 1st class👌 Thanks for showing Sean!
@@sincerelyelvispresley...Sean my friend, maybe another idea for an Unboxing/Review Video: "Elvis Complete Single Collection" the japanese 10CD BMG/RCA Box-Set from 1999. Imo, it's one of the very best CD Box-Set Releases ever👌
Great review! I remember when this set came out and I found it very interesting, but I passed because I had “The Complete Masters” set, which I still own. I did think the thematic way the cds were presented in The Franklin Mint was cool.⚡️
I'd love a copy of the 'big brother' set Curt, but I think that's unreachable now. I agree that the thematic approach FM went with was pretty cool, and certainly unique
Hi Sean, the 2016 boxset is probably the greatest Elvis release ever IMO. It’s the one I’m going to try to convince my daughters to keep, not least because of its size! It was a little piece of genius- both in terms of its design and of course the content. This FM collection strikes me as almost like an attempt to copy the Bob Dylan Theme Time Radio Hour. I saw Jamie from EAP eulogising about his Sony set. But the 2016 boxset knocks both out the water for maybe a10th of the price. This set is interesting but I won’t be adding it to my list. I thought this year would be quiet for me. I spent a lot last year playing catch up. In May 23 the only FTD I owned was the Elvis Is Back release from 2005. At start of 25 I was missing 4 essentials- Welcome Home Elvis, Summer of 61, Viva Las Vegas box and the MSG book. 3 weeks into 25 and I’ve scored sealed copies of MSG and 61, and a mint copy of Welcome Home Elvis. I wouldn’t be put off reviewing sets like the King Creole box. The only decent reviewer besides yourself is Scotty and, as you know, he is the man for vinyl. The EAP boys can’t get the new sets as quickly as we can in Europe. The rest are so dull I was thinking of doing it myself..! Gary
Thanks Gary, I think the album collection box set is one of the very few things everyone seems to universally agree is pretty close to perfect. A rarity indeed! I'm holding the KC set back, as it will definitely be making an appearance in an episode in the not-too-distant future!
Completely missed this set when it first appeared. But as you said Sean, now not an essential set as I have the later 60 CD set. Nevertheless, a great packaged set and good review 👍🏼👍🏼
A great looking boxset , and I do like the way they have gone about it ,I never came across one , but if I do ,and its not silly money I would buy it 👍 Great review (as always😊) Have a great week brother👍👍
Sean I have been waiting for someone to show the Franklin Mint "Complete Masters". I do not have that as I have the Legacy "Complete Masters" and the 60 CD Legacy box set. The music is superb on both of those sets (obviously telling you nothing new there) however the hard cover book that comes with the Complete Masters is worth the entry point. Its a wealth of information collected together in one place and I find myself going back to it time and again. The CDs in the "Legacy Complete Masters" all have a face print of a mixing board console: I assume its Studio B as there are various studio shots of B throughout the books many pages. And all the music is in recorded chronological order Except for the last 3 CDs which are a selection of rarities. If there is a hidden gem in Elvis' 70s catalogue it would have to be "How The Web Was Woven" the words to that song and Elvis' vocal treatment, make for a great paring. By for now, stay safe and go well.
Thanks Terry, wherever possible I do try to showcase things that haven't been shown anywhere else. I completely agree that both the other sets you mention are superior to the FM one, which is definitely the more oddball release of the three! Also agree about HTWWW, one of my absolute faves 👍🏻
Thanks for that look into the box set. For my part, I am disturbed by the compilations and miss the record artwork from the originals. The 60 CD box set is really great, and the two boxes of 20 albums that came before it were very decent. Those lacked the Golden Records series, but it was possible to get those in the separate boxes of 5 CDs. It was just a thrill to get every album on CD for the first time. I think it would be fantastic to have a set of mono mastered albums in a set, featuring alternative artwork from Europe and South America and the fabulous New Zealand Christmas album. Imagine that.
That's a great idea! I know what you mean about having the original artwork for sure. Next week, I'll be showcasing a set that falls somewhere in the middle. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
@@sincerelyelvispresley Come to think of it, put the mono set out on vinyl at a price humans can afford and in numbers that make it available to all. That’s the problem with today’s products; be it Beatles or Elvis, you have to be there on the first day or it’s too late. Very frustrating.
@elvisonwax I know just what you mean. I'm not going to bother with pre-orders anymore, I just becomes impossible to keep up with the pace of all the releases
I agree mate ,it's a great little set ,how did you originally go about buying it ? I would get it but I agree that the 60 cd set is maybe the way to go
Album Collection from 2016 is a terrific set but The Complete Elvis Masters (2010) has tracks in order 1954 -1977, from Sun to Moody Blue. Plus deluxe 240 page book which is brilliant.
wow what a lovely collection - not seen it before - thanks for sharing 👑💛⭐
You're welcome Helen, thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed seeing it 🙂
Looks like a great set. I like the box. Thanks Sean for letting us see it.
I have theb60 cd set and I love it.
It's pretty neat Juan, but the 60 album set is definitely the gold standard!
That’ box set looks good bud thanks for sharing looks like good mixes on the cds
Cheers Tommy, it's pretty unique, that's for sure

Thanks David, it's certainly a unique release. This one was for you btw, as you'd asked for it when I did the room tour 😉
@sincerelyelvispresley Thanks again.👍

Great video my friend like how they put it all together very different. 👑👍
Thanks Adrian, appreciate that buddy 👍🏻
I have this set. Really Nice. Enjoy Sean.
Thank you, it's a nice one to have in the collection I think

Hello, Another great review. Thanks for showing us the kind of stuff we would never get to see especially if you are on a budget. Cheers

Mine came from eBay Paul, is that what you meant? If it was a choice between the 2, the 60 album set wins hands down
😬…. Yah, I have the boxset. Can’t afford anything from Franklin Mint.
