Thank you for your content, very informative, very thorough and very clear. However I do have question…Is there a way of telling what version of controller it is from the box? I would hate to buy a new controller and it turns out to be a 30. Cheers!
I'm really unsure, your best bet would be to have a Google. I only know by the numbers on the back or by popping the R1 or L1, checking the colour of the screw.
I've only seen a handful of people with 030 and they got them in a bundle, so guessing you can't buy them seperate yet!
This kit might work on a 30, I haven't got one to actually try it 😄
@@CraigsChannel thank you for your quick response. I have one more question though… In this video you did not cut the 20 circuits and everything seemed to work fine, now could I do to same with the 2 paddles kit, just tape up to ones I don’t used?
Yeah of course, I usually do that when installing my own kits, just so I have the option in the future to use it on another controller. Just make sure you put some tape on the one you're not using in case it shorts the board or something. Tbh they you just give you two separate ribbon but maybe that would be more expensive for them

Can this LED set be used in conjunction with their Rise 4.0 remap kit? I noticed that the LED kit has the same connection point as is used for paddles.
Can this be paired with all extremerate products? back paddles, and mouse clicky digital triggers?
I remove the 10 and now saw this video im thinking if maybe i removed the wrong one it won’t work what can i do now my model 1A but screw was silver so im cunfused it doesn’t turn on the led
Unfortunately my controller worked but when trying to play a game. It doesn’t work. 😢
For some reason buttons aren't responding correctly and I placed everything correctly
I don't recommend doing this... i fked ny controller up. The kit worked for about 2 days. 1 day I come home try to play as usual led doesn't show up, original led either btw and ps button doesn't work. I tried opening the controller again and connected everything back up... nothing still doesn't work, unistalled kit and tried with original again nothing. Lesson learned, when something seems to good to be true it usually doesn't last. My recommandation is just get a ps4 controller, easier to mod and more durable in any case. Ps5 controllers seem to be made to break quickly
I've helped thousands of people with these kits and the back buttons kits, it's always something simple and easy to fix.
If you've took all the kit out and it's still not working something could he up with the controller, it could be coincidence you've fitted a kit and it's been a faulty pad. But if I was you I'd open it one last time, unplug everything and put it back together. Not really much can break inside
So no soldering is needed for this eh?
Not for the LED not. You only need to solder for the back button kit, and that's only if you want L3 or R3 as any back buttons
Hi Craig, another excellent video. I'm another viewer who wants to see LED + back button video. I followed your back button 2.0 video & worked a treat. However I think I'm going to pull it apart & solder the thumb stick ribbon cable. Thanks mate, from 🇦🇺

Followed every step and when I installed the thumb stick L3 and R3, they stick to the left or right or up and down etc etc 😅 they also don’t rotate smoothly? What could be the cause of this please?
I have a 020 and am using the same kit my controller worked just fine before the lights but now it doesn't power on followed ya video step by step literally.......what could be the issue?
Hi, the last cable confuses me as its got both control versions. I have the 020 and i cant find a place to put that cable?

@@CraigsChannel the v3 cable sorry. On the 010 control it plugs into the led flex bit and the handle and the motherboard then u tape the last bit up but i have two clip bits im able to plug the v3 into the 020 control. On the motherboard and on the handle but its on the inside of the handle not outside like the 010. Im sorry if this doesnt make sense 🤣. Also the led lights arent working but im not sure if its because i need the v3 installed x
@@keekee4697 Can you maybes make me a quick video and put it on your channel so I have a better understand or post a picture of Twitter. I'm just a little confused 😄 but happy to help. It's never really anything major that needs fixing, 9/10 it's the L1/L2 ribbon cable not being in the right way
@@CraigsChannel my control didnt work at all with the led kit, i took it out and the control works again. Im not sure if i need that v3 cable just to make the led lights light up do i? My control lit up orange around the touchpad and was pulsing with the led bit in and it said for me to press the playstation button, which i did and it nothing worked. I need to replace touchpad colour, should be arriving soon then il take it apart again. 🙂

Are you sure you're controller is a 020? If its brand new it could be a 030
Does it need the ribbon cable from the L1 L2 installed? I can’t see any reason why it would be needed at all but for some reason my kit doesn’t work and I haven’t installed that ribbon cable

Yeah you can use it with the back button kit, I'm sure I did a video of them both together. Personally though I never use the LED but the back buttons every day

Yeah they've got them for both consoles. There's quite a few LED things you can buy. My friends got LEDs what goes inside his PS5 and you can get the same for the Xbox

Just installed mine with the other kits, all of them work except the LEDs. Any ideas?

@@CraigsChannel clicky buttons as well as the bumper triggers. I did figure it out the vid that has all of them being installed missed a step
Mine died after 9 months...the controller stopped charging...removed this mod and controller works again. But when it worked it was cool lol
You get a 12 month warranty with their products you know, just drop them a message on Twiiter, they'll probably just send a replacement for you 😁

You could always get them to send you a replacement and sell it, get some money back 😉

Obviously that idea wasn't from me, I'm just here to help people out 😁 but technically speaking you're entitled to the replacement if yours has broke, that's the whole idea of the warranty plus their customer service is really helpful

Yeah you can add them both, I never use my LED kit if I'm honest, my back buttons on the other hand daily

When you have the buttons glowing, is it supposed to blink after a bit and continue glowing? Or are the lights not supposed to blink?

A good video but this led kit don’t fit a bdm 020 controller that’s for sure ,the manufactor says it fits both 010 and 020 but not the 020 controller that is buildt very different from the 010
you probably have a 030 controller, came out at around christmas 2022
Wanted to know are you able to install this led kit with the back pedal kit?
Used the blue strip, it came out a faint blue. When I switch ps5 controller skins I will apply 2 of the blue strips so it is hopefully a darker blue.
hey how are you liking it this is maybe like my 5th kit as the v1 and v2 was shorting out been talking to them about the problem so far not having the problems like before. i see it took you about 20mins mine took me about 1h 20min to install cuz they send me alot the Halloween shells the DTF kit and rise 4 in diff colors with the thumbsticks risers and or shells lol

The kits don't really take me long to fit, it's the filming and angles that take the longest, I really need to buy a tablet or something as I'm currently doing my videos on the floor.
I'm not sure which other version LED I've got maybe the v1? It's still on my clear controller.
I've had a few people lately mention they've gotten the 030 controllers, so not sure if the kits will work on them
@@CraigsChannel yea from what they told me it’s only for the 10 and 20 I have not came across a 30 yet it might be a diff region version
You could he right, it might only be certain parts of the world. No idea why they've brought another version out, unless they've done something with the analog sticks which I very much doubt 😄

I have a 20 and i dont see no place to put the last strip where it says 20 and 10
Are you sure its not a 30? Loads of people have been getting 30s lately
I think it is the 2 strips you take off the side are white and tiny not orange like the other ones so i dont see where i can connect the last stip for the leds
Thanks for the help, I got sent the wrong things from amazon, the wrong buttons the wrong part to go into the mother board, but seeing this one I can do it because it came with that second little part
So if you were doing the back buttons as well you would just connect those ones you taped down to the little sticker board you put on the battery for the pack paddles. Craig would you be able yo make a video doing a fully modded controller with back buttons and leds and clicky triggers all on one!? Cheers mate your the best!
Yeah you'd just install the LED first then put the ribbon for the back button ontop, like the bit you sandwiche the board together.
I've a few videos already installing both triggers and back paddles together. But since then there's been 3 versions of controllers, quite a few different back button kits and quite a few digital triggers 😄 personally I go for the 2 back buttons and tactile triggers

@@CraigsChannel How would you connect the ribbon that connects to the two little prongs from the led kit to the remap kit.
Same way you would if you didn't have the LED kit, you just put it over the top
i did all the steps but my controller wont turn on its just flashing blue
Have you made sure it's synced to the console? Try using a USB cable
Craig I bought the new camo ps5 controller when I try to put the extremerate back paddle kit in. The ribbon cables on the new controllers are different so it won’t fit. Any suggestions?
Is it a 30 controller? Sounds like you might have an uncompatible one
@@CraigsChannel on the circuit board and the triggers it looks like a Bdm 20 version. I the the newest version of the ps5 controllers are different.
If its the new gray kind of camo controller I'm thinking it's going to be a 30, there is a picture extremerate have added on Amazon showing you how to spot the versions by looking at the L2 or R2 triggers, they all look slightly different.

Hey Craig, um my controller led lights are flickering and I can’t stop it the shape buttons and r1 and l1 aren’t working, couldu do a tutorial on how to fix it pls?
It just sound like you haven't fitted something correctly, maybe open the pad and double, triple check everything to make sure it's pushed in properly

You've definitely fitted something wrong somewhere, you'll need to open the pad and double check everything. It'll be something simple but shouldn't cause any drift or anything
I switched the buttons to the white controller the r1 and l1 buttons work but the lights keep blinking and I can’t switch it
hey i was wondering about the face clicky v2 + tactile trigger click + rise back buttons combo. a few have mentioned the microphone not working after. are these user errors or something i should be worried about? thanks!
Yeah 100% user error, the mic should work no matter what you install.
Tbh I never use the mic on the controller, always use my headset

If you're going to fit everything I'd fit the triggers first, make sure they work, then do the other two. Just if you so all three at once and something doesn't work, you'll be puzzled.
My personal preference is triggers and back buttons, the front clicky didn't interest me same with the LED kit
@@CraigsChannel yeah the led kid isn’t for me and doesn’t seem optimal for battery life. have you gotten your hands on the light bar customization above the built in speaker? pretty subtle and cool idk ab the price though.

@Craig's Channel yes, they are red and always on. The up right square doesn't do anything no matter how long I hold it

You might have possibly fitted something a little wrong. If you're definitely pressing up and right together with square but nothing is happening it must be something inside
Hey dude, was wondering what your current go-to controller set-up looks like? And which mods you are using? Great videos by the way.
Currently using the RISE4 with tactile triggers, but if I'm honest if of been happy with just the 2 back button kit, I never use the extra to or haven't learnt to use them, I only play CoD so X and O is more than enough

looks amazing. my only complaint is the ps button looking really cheesy. they should of added the same detail as the regular button.
