Agreed - thank you. I watch some videos with 3rd person view and the racing line assist on and I think "Really?? You call that gamer channel entertainment?"
DG GAMING TIPS l do forks view am l cheating ? I tell myself l have my face right up to the faring lol if l put on the view you use, l can even take the first corner! Terrible.
Funny - that front fork view is mad and weird at the same time. I had a quick go on it and the pendulum turning effect when you can't see the handles and wing mirrors is borderline nauseous. I can't see that anybody seriously uses that view. Maybe one with the front tyre in view is partly interesting, but too low down to the ground to see the corners coming up
DG GAMING TIPS People are really passionate about this game, try posting a fast time in any other view than fairing pov and watch the sparks fly!!! The correct answer would be ride how you like! its just a game, I did go to the standard view last night and came very close to my best forks time, milli seconds in fact, tip for new riders, if you want to see the fine detail of the course and you like the forks pov use it, until you get use to the corners and the track, go your own way, take it steady and soon you will like me beat the word record, Good Biking !!! above all have fun!
It has a cult following for sure. But then they've done such a good job of the bike physics and crash physics (IMHO) that I think TT gamers consider themselves to be close to the real ability. I know I do (hah!)
The problem is finishing a whole lap without coming off once. I average 2 topples each lap. Though i have managed a lap with just one fall. Once you come off it takes AGES to get up to speed again
Removing the race line and other visual aids definitely helps. The only visual aid I turn on anymore is the speedometer, but that’s just when a friend is over.
Haa! Good to hear. I'm working on the 15min club now, but it's tough. Might have to up it to the 2/3rds power technique to shave a few more seconds off
I've had this game for ages but I just can't do it,I'm using a pad and when I brake I career into a hedge etc, or when I going down a straight as I approach a slight bend I seem to go wide and crash. I'm trying manual gears like you said but I'm just coming off all the time
Did you watch my other vid about 'tips for avoiding crashing?' Sounds like you may be braking hard while turning, or something that is unbalamcing the bike. Try changing your brake ratio setting as well to more like half and half front and back. That helped a bit for me.
My next video is going to be covering tips on how to get 15 - 16 min full lap, but inevitably, tips are going to include 'learn sections and bad corners' and most importantly, 'avoid crashes'. Time attack is good to remove the other riders from the course who get in your way
Good set of tips, cheers for the video !! Tell me you don't sit THAT close to your T.V when playing (as we see you turn around to play at the start of this video and you've nearly got your nose touching the screen)
Yeah - I do sit back a bit. I find I have to be really particular about screen distance, chair leg angle, chair height and everything about the surroundings to properly concentrate. Gets easier once you master it, but I'm still not there yet
@@DGGAMINGTIPS Touché mate, I have to have my seating set right as well, I'm actually in the middle of re-vamping my man-cave gaming den, just have the lighting to sort out which is almost as important to me as my seating !! Anyway, I digress, glad to hear you don't play that close mate, Thanks again for the video and keep up the great work !!
Unfortunately for me I am never going to be able to do the gears manually because I was born with a disability called cerebral palsy it effected my right side I enjoy the challenge of the game I will admit I do race with line on I can almost take Brayhill flat
I've had this game ages but I've hardly ever played it. I'm even struggling with the tutorial lol.id love to be able to get into this and use manual gears plus breaking is hard when using both front and rear brakes..basically I'm seriously struggling
Dawie Van Emmenes Agreed. The skills and concentration needed on the twitchier superbikes in helmet cam view makes car simulation games seem tame by comparison
Great Tips, Nice and In-Depth for a Great Game !! Have you played 'Ride 4' and if so, how do you rate it when compared to this ?? I know that 'Ride 4' wasn't out at the time you made this video but it is now !! Keep the Tips Coming Mate.....Cheers !!
Putting the easiest settings on the game makes you win more? Or is it the same? I found that if you put the AI on easy, it is still pretty challenging.
I think it is exactly the same in terms of bike handling. I can't feel any difference between bike handling in Easy versus Expert. That setting only seems to affect the speed of the competing computer riders. Correct me if I am wrong
It's a good question actually - I don't use it. I'd kind of forgotten it was there on one of the buttons. I can appreciate how it is used, and some times beneficial in real life, but not sure I've got the time to be switching between brakes in the game. Might have a play with it though. Anybody else using it?
Well I have all of the assists off because the Superbikes behaves more real on the edge, but: "Brake method: Combined" so the game uses rear brake for me and "Anti-stoppie: Low" otherwise it is very difficult to brake effectively (ABS off). I Like Ride2 more in terms of "riding mechanics" but when you get used to TT steering it is a great experience too. Actually it oftenly feels like the real thing except you can´t die :)
Yeah - sorry about that. I'm a bit of stickler when it comes to simulation game experience. I enjoy the game more from rider helmet pov. I don't mind road view for some car games. But I like to see the fairing as a point of reference for the corners
Maybe its because I have raced dirt bikes and only ridden road bikes without a fairing .. but fairdinkum I cant make two corners in fairing veiw I must try and learn it as the fastest guys are using that veiw . I also noticed the Magee yamaha is the best handling bike for me to learn on maybe you could cover these topics for the newbies Im only a week old in this game just into low 20 mins
It's the first of the SuperBike Honda CBR1000RR liveries for me, although I do remember them offering that as a pre-order perk, but I have it based on buying the game on day 1, so maybe they extended the deal to include day of release purchase too?
Its so hard a lap without a crash.i did a 15.50 min with three crashes in a high speed section.i try to attack the top 10.i have to do a lap without crash and i think my time is between 15.25 and 15.30 min.i hope in a few days i have it😋
Well, good luck to you with that. I haven't had the time as yet to do enough practice to take on a solid full lap, but I will after another couple of gaming video projects and then make a video of that somehow. I doubt I'm operating in the Top 10 space. The only videos I ever see of gamers doing fast full laps is in the external (behind) camera mode, and it always looks so much easier from that view - but I'm thinking (and hoping) that the difficulty is still the same as helmet view?
DG GAMING TIPS I think its harder the drivers view.behind the bike is easyer to handle.i play racing games since 20 years, and allways the view behind the car/motobike.so im not trained in the drivers view, but i think its harder to handle
I think the developer has done a great job of it, and I know they had to postpone its release once already as they weren't happy with the riding physics / feel, and I'm glad they did. It DEFINITELY gets across the sense of speed, especially in the helmet cam mode, but even the finer points like bumps / jumps in the road are very realistic, and then the physics of bike and rider crashes has clearly taken a lot of programming effort to get that in place. How the rider can continue racing after some of these crashes is the only question. In DiRT4 it would be a DNF (Did Not Finish) and possibly IH (In Hospital), or worse. Will keep an eye out for your PSN ID and Top 5 place!
Matt Jones I just got this game last week. I’ve been learning a section at a time after running the whole track a few times and not getting under 20. There’s a few section now I’m in the top 5000 people on time. As a whole though I ran a 19:53. Do not much better but better. First six sections I kill. About 8:35. That last half I struggle as of now. I’ll get it though
Thank you for not using 3rd person view.

Thanks man. Check out my latest 'Avoid Crashes' video, and let's see if we can take that extra half off the time :)
Just play more and all this mentioned will get in your muscle memory and you'll probably finish with 1 or no crashes at all
TT 2 in two days!!! Woohoo!
Ty for your tips.
It's so hard to get back on a controller after 20 years on keyboard + mouse.
If find driving first view no handle bars better, also watch live commentary from actual TT riders doing a lap they will tell you great tips.
Extra: change the "shift up" button to r1 and the "shift down" to L1
