I can totally relate to what you said about not giving it 110%. "Most of my TT gaming life has been spent playing those first 2 or 3 sections". I FEEL YOU ON THAT!!! LOL. I always find myself being much more careful later in the track because you just have so much more to lose. You slip up on section 12 and you just threw away a perfectly good lap. But then sections 1-3 I push it to the absolute limit. Now I'm probably a wizard at sections 1-3 but only just pretty good at the later sections because I've just spent so much more time playing the early sections. Man this game requires some discipline. You have access to so much power but have to force yourself to not use it. I love that quote that comes up in the load screen sometimes, it's something like "If you want to finish first, first you have to finish."
Hah! What you describe there is EXACTLY me too. I must have ridden section 1 about a thousand times. Restart button is about worn out. Whereas sections 6-12, maybe 50. It's got to the point where I have to lecture myself 3mins in with lines from this tips video
For people who play the game on Pc with maxed out graphics, go to the game's ini settings and change frametime from 32 to 16 ms. It makes the game look and feel butter smooth @ 60 Fps. Even at 300 + Kph. And make sure sharpening is set to normal . Ride on the edge 2 on PC is an awesome game, But you have to optimize it yourself to get the best out of it .
Love the videos, I found your channel looking at the new TT game as I loved the old one and I'm always looking for new tips on bettering my riding in game. Keep up the videos dude! Also, Tip 3: Dodge Lean in: isn't just a game mechanic, it's what happens when you ride a bike irl too, you tilt the bike right which pushes the wheels to the left before the bike will start to move the way you're leaning (right). Looking up motorbike mechanics irl applies and helps with this game imo
So after watching this video yesterday I went for a ride and tried out the lean to dodge thing, I guess I already knew it does in fact work but I think I figured out why, see the bike doesn't pivot at the point where the tires meet the road, it actually pivots at the center of gravity, so when I lean the bike left below the center of gravity will pivot to the right, so the game is actually very accurate.
the lean thing is due to countersteering, on bike you steer by pushing the inside handlebar away from you so initially the bike moves away untill you get on the carving line as the tyre contact moves away from centre
Nice to see you playing in first-person-view, cause that's the only way to play this game :) And useful tips. (Most videos on UA-cam show third-person-view, which unfortunately is still crap in TT2.)
By the way: are you preferring helmet cam or head cam? (I find the dirt on the visor in the helmet view a bit too much, also the color/low contrast in helmet view isn't that nice)
@@keijioba6279 Same here, helmet cam is the way to go and they got the feel (leaning and angle of view while hanging off) quite right, but the sight through visor and windshield, as they are getting dirty, is very distracting.
It's like I've gone back to the early learning days. Forgotten some of the track and some parts look different now they've changed the scenery. Struggling to get back to a crash free lap to put in a 16min time, but I'm putting in the hours and do want to head towards a 15min time. Whether I'll ever get there remains to be seen.
@@DGGAMINGTIPS Oh you will mate! I noticed straight away that the track was different in a few places OR the scenery had changed, still can't work out which. I got it today and after trying to set it up asked for my money back. My Hardware 'Thrustmaster HOTAS controls are impossible to use. Very dissapointed.

Gamepad (PS4) for me. Positioning on the bike? Blimey. First I've heard of it. My rider is usually in the 'hanging on for dear life, hair on fire' position, lol
I can confirm it's happening even in non-career quick mode. It's weird and unrealistic imo. Even when you upgraded the bike a little, you're almost always get surpassed by others when starting from pole. It would mean that the AI got way more advanced bikes, even in Quickmode. No idea why they implemented it like this. But I saw this feedback already in the TT2 FB group.
@@DGGAMINGTIPS It's still weird, because ALL AI riders pass you, which means, even at a career start, all other AI riders would already have more advanced bikes upfront, which doesn't make sense (unless you argue, you're the only rookie rider new in the season with a brand new default bike).
@@keijioba6279 I think they're trying to encourage you to upgrade your bike to be more competitive. So yes, you are classed as the only rookie rider. After I upgraded my bike in the team career races, I no longer get overtaken by everybody
the other good bike is the zx6 that has been very competitive for me I even use it to learn new tracks or just train to get better before I get to the big boys

@@DGGAMINGTIPS did you change the settings again in the end? I'm also hoping this will change how fast you can lean from side to side cause at the moment, it's just a bit too slow...
I did change them after I put out the initial handling video. Seems better. Sharper. But I think it gets to a point where it's governed by each bike handling characteristic rather than the controller sensitivity (i.e. Norton = slow no matter what)
