So the entire reason I watched this is because I’m interested in the LS7 valve issue. Not one mention of the LS7 valve issue, great video guys!!!
Just saved me 10 minutes thank you.
He’s here wrapping the fenders to keep from scratching or bugging the clear and yet the ford dealer who replaced my engine left my perfect black fenders looking like the floor of a Walmart
well they probably get paid very well, compared to the lube tech they got working on your Ford
All problems trace back to being a Ford owner
@@baby-sharkgto4902 bro, Pontiac is discontinued for a reason let's not even get into it
@@Rexamillion16 Coming from a longtime Ford fan, I’d rather have a 6.0 6 speed GTO than a Gen 3 10 speed yote. Easy on the shit talk bud.
@@smallfry0764 lmfao, I like to win races..
THANK YOU for showing data during the dyno. Every other shop thinks we just want to see a car making noise.
NEVER leave the torque tube cover uninstalled. The reason it has so many screws is because it is part of the structure and adds to torsional rigidity of the body/frame component. It also keeps lots of heat out of the console and passenger compartment. Why half a$$ it?
Loving these videos!
How often do you guys find broken transmission/diff to subframe mounts on these cars??
Not often
Do you guys measure preload and pushrod length? I would be interested with these various combo's how these things measure for valve clearance and rod length.
They all get our exact same package. So unless the block has been decked all the top end is exactly the same
My 07Z is headed that way in about three weeks, thanks Bill!
@@number36420 stage 3 with clutch
It can handle it for a period of time but all depends how you drive and milage. If you never want to worry about it it’s best to do it at the same time.
13800 miles but don’t want to worry about it later. One and done
Great show guy’s 😎👍🤙🏻
The LS7 has valve issues because of the exact allowances the engine has. Any more air to the mixture doesn’t match with the designed valves causing much more stress than they’re build to handle
Just got the LS7 hotcam version crate motor. I have no idea if it has any valve issues, but I am looking into Fixed heads options. What is the best option? Porting stock heads with new stonger guides and valves or aftermarket set? Which has the lowest failure rate?
Our heads are on our website
I'll answer you-AFTERMARKET!! I've owned an LS7 for almost 9 years. The OEM heads have the reliability of an ex wife testifying at a custody hearing.....
@@milojanis4901 which ones are reliable? How many miles on yours? Have they been rechecked? I have seen many still had issues
@@milojanis4901 killed me lol
Replace them with aftermarket...preserve your investment, good luck on the build!
I've had virtually every type of fluid found in an automotive shop in my eyes. Brake fluid is my favorite ............. smooth and creamy.
the creamy is your retina dissolving 😅😅
@@faxxzc Where's my white cane at?
Did you ever look into why the old clutch on the black one was the way it was? I ask cause I have a mcleod twin on mine and it's the same exact thing. Like a light switch and at the very top of the pedal travel. Sort of ruins the driving experience for me. Curious on your thoughts.
The clutch was just a pile of shit. Nothing more to look into haha
I was waiting for the video
Fran going to need a smaller size sweater soon, looking good brother keep up the great work!
I've noticed a trend. He is definitely dropping some lbs. Good Job Fran.
What’s with the clickbait title? I have to disagree. My ‘07 Z06 was built in December of ‘06 by D. N. Eastlick. It has 139,000 miles and is as strong as ever ( However, my last dyno was at 64,000 miles). I must also admit that I do my own maintenance, have never raced the car and always drive the speed limit (At least that’s my story and I’m sticking to it).
Finally got sick of the fat jokes 🤣
Have not watched a video in awhile and almost didn't recognize him. Driver mods actually do exist.
Because your ancedotal experience doesn't trump GM admitting that the ls7 valve guide was poorly manufactured ?
Nothing more satisfying than getting a fresh clutch put in. I just went to the Mantic triple disk after blowing through 2 McLeod 1200’s. I couldn’t be more happy with it.
How the hell u blow through 2😭😂 im still on my first
Hi I'm looking to buy someone's front cats from a c6 grandsport to get my car through connecticut emmisions.
I
My $0.02 got to say it, but I wouldn't take a cam out of the bag and put it right in the motor. Your work reputation now rests on how good of a job the person who put the cam in the bag did cleaning it. Don't trust anyone to do a job as well as you would do yourself.
Why does it sound like everybody’s on helium? I feel like I’m watching the lollipop kids. 🤣
Do you Dial in Cams on these installs with Degree Wheel not ever see you guys dialing in cams great video Fran
Wondering that too.
No and no one that works on these cars will either. Unless you have an adjustable timing set there is no way to adjust how the cam is installed besides dot to dot
☹️😟😢 but I want one so badly. Guess I'll have to settle for a CTS-V coupe or R35.
I failed to understand the title of the video relative to the content of the video
I’ve seen a couple of videos from these guys recently and I’ve either missed the part that relates to the title, or the titles literally have no connection to the content in the video 🤷🏻♂️
Why no safety glasses ?
Damn Fran 😍
somebody please fix that ballast hum ! sheeeeeeeeeesh
Man, they just SMOKE thru the various steps, but unless I'm seeing things.......Did this guy just drive in the throwout bearing using a drift on the INNER race????!!! If he did, I wouldn't want him within 10 feet of my car, fender guard or not
Pilot bearing, but I get your concern. No way to know. The video isn’t detailed enough to see.
Sorry for the typo. I meant pilot bearing. After watching this several times, I believe he drove in the pilot bearing in place by hammering on the inner race!!! THAT is a no-no on ANY bearing. One of the most insulting things that we journeyman say to the young guys is make sure you have a BFH (Big Fuckeing Hammer!) in your toolbox. Amateurs at work. SMH....
Not true said a Rick Hendrick's Lead Corvette Mechanic who is also World Certified. If it is being raced or modified for increase horsepower then the heads should be upgraded...
Well I guess that’s why rick hendrick had us build his C6Z……
👍👍👍👍👍
They ain’t ever gonna listen at this point 🤦🏻♂️😔
About the thumbnail : Being 7-8 years newer, did GM fix the LS7 valve issue in the Z28`s
No. They still have the issue.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Stage 5 C6 Z06🤷🏾♂️

Micro flex “Black Dragon” latex gloves size Large-13.99 per box online. I think I’d tell the Snap-On guy to use a little lube next time, at least give him a kiss on the cheek for the 43 bucks. 😂
Texas speed heads and cam
Huh?
Yup with the Ls7 its not if.... but when. Ive been researchign this a ton and every post i see reputable builders are saying theyve never seen or heard of a GM built ls7 of ANY YEAR not having a few guides out of spec, and most are GROSSLY out of spec. GM screwed up bad
Jesus so much whining in the comments. The fuck.
Looking good Fran 👌🏻
So many internet experts
Because it’s a GMAC
Haven't watched a video in some time from this channel.. Gotta say the shop is looking trashed, disorganized and a messy shop is an indication of unfocused or undisciplined workers. I suggest if you plan to continue with video's, that you take 5 min at the end of each day and clean up a little, after a week everything will be back in shape. Even if you don't make another video. Do it anyway.
To each there own, you can have a spotless shop and do shit work or you can have a working mans shop and do great work. There’s very little in between, I mean I counted at least 20 cars in the shop right now I would expect shit to be a little crazy especially just coming back from a holiday. Show me a spotless shop that does great work while also having over 20 cars in the waiting’s bay I’ll wait too don’t worry.
GM.
You keep talking about Camera Boys car can we at least see it for reference
We did an episode on it.

Engine mapping is a too rich at 12.9:1. 14.0:1 is ideal and my Z06 with similar mods turns 640hp.
I can promise you 14.0 is NOT ideal on your car.
