I did enjoy Jim Cornette's brief reference to Chief Jay Strongbow's agent reports. I'll never forget the time in a shoot interview when Kevin Nash quoted one of Strongbow's reports on a match of his, which stated the following: "You could have had that match in an iron lung." Nash acknowledged that while he didn't know exactly what that meant at the time, he knew "it wasn't an accolade of any kind."
His tear into Peter Frampton towards the end was hilarious and unexpected. I've always heard he's a nice guy. Maybe someone has an opposing story. I may be a bit sensitive to the subject anyway, being bald myself. I had long hair as a teenager. I miss those days. "Don't look like Peter Frampton. Look like MEEE. With Keeps!"
Looking at cagematch, most of the top tier roster were in Germany for the European Championship tournament. Ahmed wasn't injured (surprisingly), he was in Germany that night of this card that was mentioned.
What's the big deal? That is nothing unusual for liberal men like Jim. Anyone can identify as whatever gender they what. They can identify as a cat and these mental patients expect you to play along.
My very first wrestling event was a live house show in Anaheim CA, back in 97, it was Shaw Michaels vs Stone Cold, Shawn lost and he actually mooned the crowd..
I attended a WWF "B" show in Muskegon, MI in about 1983. They sent none of the top talent and didn't even have an announce team in the building. IIRC they only charged $3 admission for adults and I think kids were free but most of the audience walked away disappointed and they never ran Muskegon again.
Ahmed vs. Crush as a main event, yikes. That German tour was the European Championship tournament, Davey beating Owen in the final during perhaps the worst shot Raw ever.
I love it when Jim refers to Blackjack Lanza he's always been one of my favorites living here in Chicago since I can remember him the Bruiser and Crusher and Mulligan and Heenan payroll first class.👍
Did Jim cut a sneaky promo on Peter Frampton real quick? Travis Heckle missed a golden opportunity to have us saying "Who TF is that", if he would have put him in the artwork.
Just checked, Aschaffenburg is currently the 124th (!!!) biggest city in Germany. Who came up with the idea of having a show there?! (Yes, kinda close enough for people from Frankfurt and Nuremberg , but still)
So it sounds like the final card left off Dogg, Savio, and the Godwinns. Why not have them wrestle a Fatal 4-Way? I was originally thinking they could've booked Dogg and Vega vs. The Godwinns, but I didn't think that made any sense having the Dogg and Vega in a tag against the Godwinns, but throwing them into a 4-Way would've been much more fun, and made more sense considering the characters involved. And book Dogg to win because...isn't he from Tennessee? __ Oh. Georgia. Well, book Dogg to win anyway, because Tennessee is close enough that he's a home-town boy, plus Dogg was awesome. Other than that, not a bad overhaul for a wrestling card, especially considering that nobody would pop for Pritchard (especially if he's injured), and 'Taker vs. Faarooq in a steel cage sounds pretty excellent. Plus, having only six matches instead of eight allowed them to tack more time onto the semi-main and the main, which doesn't hurt (and a cage match always benefits from more time).
Wow this was my first WWF show ever live in Knoxville i can only remember the cagematch mainevent and the sunny arm wrestling match it was along time ago i took pictures but due to me being young and dumb at the time lost those snapshots knowing what i know now wish i would of took better care of those things and WCW house shows in Knoxville i attended around the same time
