The K24 engine paired with the 6 speed transmision is a gem. With regular maintenance and avoiding unnecessary engine mods, it will last hundreds of thousands of miles.
Never owned one, but I’ve always admired these from a distance. Seems like one of those cars with a perfect blend of looks, performance and practicality.
I was looking for a TL-S or TSX 6 speed, ending up with a CL-S 6 speed. In the process of cleaning it up. Glad i found this channel. Now I have some inspiration to upload more videos as well
I’m the second owner of the same spec. Color, black leather, navi, 6spd. Mine came with the full A-Spec kit. Still own it today and will never get rid of it
These were great cars. My wife had a silver 2004 TSX with gray interior and it was really enjoyable to drive, with sharp steering and flat handling that reminded me of Hondas of the 90s. We kept that car for 11 years and it was hard to part with. I sort of feel like the first-gen TSX is one of Acura's hallmark models, since it replaced some lackluster models in years prior when Acura had lost direction, then the next-gen TSX got a little fat and eventually went away altogether. In retrospect, we were lucky to get the Euro Accord in America as the first-gen TSX. It was a nicer/smaller size than the American Accord of the same period, and had much better handling and way better styling.
I also just got my 2nd TSX recently. 1st one I regret getting rid of but the 2nd one I recently picked up in St George, UT as well. 2008 with 110k miles and automatic since it will be a daily driver. Hoping to keep it as long as I possibly could. I'm excited to see your other videos on the restoration process. Cheers!
I went car shopping recently and was going between a G35, 15' Accord, Audi S3 and an 08 TSX. I test drove them all and loved the TSX the most. Bought mine in Alabaster Silver, one owner, 47k miles with the auto. I drive it when I get tired of shifting in commute traffic and I love it so much out of all my cars :)
The first-gen TSX is easily one of my favorite Acuras of the past two decades - one of my few regrets is that I bought a Subaru instead of picking up a 2007 that I found for sale (silly me). Looking forward to seeing how you refresh the car and make it showroom ready once again. Hmmm... now if only we knew somebody who could prove that the TSX could stand up to high mileage usage... 🤣
Great find, Tyson!! I love that color on that car. I have that same Car and Driver magazine cover and article titled “5 Everyday Heroes” from 2/2006 that you have in your TSX binder. I bought a 2006 Accord V6 6MT sedan in Alabaster Silver from the original owner in February of 2021, and he had that article and some other original Honda literature along with it. I love cars that have period memorabilia to go along with it!
Welcome to the family 👍🏽 When I was actively looking for a 1st Gen TSX 6spd nothing plenty of clean automatic’s and when I did come across one they were either beat or over 200K & beat. Almost a decade later I’m at a Honda dealership looking at a used Accord sport 6spd it wasn’t really as advertised I asked what else is on the lot that’s a MT I really needed a new daily salesman mentions a recent trade-in 05 CGP TSX with black interior and navigation that’s getting a recall done on the Acura side they bring it back over it’s only 90k mi super clean inside and out test drove it and was sold. I’ve since done a full glass out repaint 07-08 hood JDM euro-R grill very mild drop with H&R springs and Koni Yellow’s and of course fully serviced. Still my daily driver (yes I actively choose a manual transmission vehicle to sit in heavy Bay Area traffic with 😂)
I have actually been looking for this exact color combo for years!!! I’ve only seen one and it was ratted out so I didn’t purchase it… Lucky you found this!!
Fantastic find! I loved my ‘07 artic blue TSX 6MT. This might be your favorite Acura yet! I had mine for 7 years and sold it at over 185,000 miles. Currently driving a new Integra 6MT (Apex Blue of course). The Integra is better in some ways but not the complete package that TSX gen was. Enjoy!!
Congrats fellow Phoenician! I also happen to own a 2006 TSX 6 speed manual in Phoenix AZ as well. Very glad for you for this project. Hopefully it will inspire me with some great restoration ideas as well. Mine is sitting under a car cover to protect it the best I can to keep it out of this brutal Phoenix sunshine without a garage. I actually took a trip to Texas to buy my fully stock 1 owner TSX several years ago. Mine has 120k on it at this time. I've just subscribed to see how this project comes along. Cheers
damn thats nice! just got mine 2 weeks ago. pearl white and 6 speed navi as well. 148k odo. the interior is almost perfect, like literally no rips at all. had to get this fine beautiful machine. just got so damn lucky
Had a 2006 tsx drove it about 2 and a half years before I traded it and at the time it had 224k miles and ran fantastic I had to replace the starter the rack and pinion and battery around the 200k mark other than that a perfect car I do miss it especially the features I stayed the the family I traded it for a 2011 civic si these small Honda/Acuras are the best daily’s
Oh wow, I haven't watched your content in awhile. I remember asking you if you were going to buy a TSX a few months ago and I see this vid nice! I miss my 04 TSX and regret trading it in for an RDX. Glad you will restore this because looks sad with the paint.
My next new car!!! Great find Tyson! If you want to add a GROM CarPlay unit to the OEM head unit, me or NeuronBob can walk you through it. All joking aside, I’m happy for you! Let me know when you’re ready to part ways with it!
Great car. My father had an '03 from new here in the UK. Had it for 15 years and it never missed a beat. It had the K20 mated to the five speed auto transmission but you could have the K24 also. As you mentioned, on this side of the pond these cars were badged as the Honda Accord as was the case in Japan where they were made.
i have the exact same car, just with grey interior and five speed auto. still a great driving car, has almost 234k miles (i started driving it with 225k) and my family has owned it since day one. i love the k24 it has.
Great car find I think you'll enjoy this one. Fun Fact, only 2 TSXs ever sold on BAT. First was a race prepared 1st Gen and the 2nd was a 2nd Gen sport wagon. So your window of opportunity to sell a rare 1 Gen street legal is still open 😄 Otherwise welcome to club. Looking forward to see this one brought back to respectability...
Amazing car!! I have the same exact color combo but it is automatic. My paint is starting to go unfortunately, I can’t wait to see it repainted! Im considering repainting mine and keeping it but only if the price is right. Can’t wait to see it restored
I've had a few of these both manual and a few auto's Never had the 06-08's (The refresh) always loved this color but never been able to find one.I had a newer 09 TSX Manual but I didn't care for it much. The interior is cheaply made and the engine had cam phaser (VTEC) issues. This 1st gen is really reliable. I miss mine! I'm sure you'll have it looking new in no time! Congrats and Happy New Year Tyson!!
Funny you say that a daily a 08 and my friend has a 09 and the interior is literally falling apart. The armrest and door panel leather torn and ripped up.
Nice! I’m only about 2 min in, but I bet you’re going to make this car look incredible like the rest of your fleet. (& Wow I can’t even imagine owning a car for 15 years. I’ll have had my license for 14 years this week. I’ve had so many vehicles for only 4-6 _months_ before selling or trading them. 2 out of the 6 Jeeps I’ve had, I managed to keep for 4 years each, and that was a miraculous feat.😂 so a decade and a half of ownership, the amount of memories he had in this car, just wow.)
I foresee raising the roof of your garage to make an upper level and installing a car lift so you can garage more cars as your collection continues to grow. I am not really a blue car fan, but this color is very nice!
@@TysonHugie , not sure. It had 75,000 miles. Traded it on my 09 TSX at Acura of Columbus (Ohio) in August of 08. It was in great condition, ran just like new. At the time I used my car for work, so I traded every 2-3 years.
Love your vids, Tyson! But, PLEASE when you rev out your cars bring them to redline! You’re not hurting them by revving them and I’m sure your audience would appreciate it a lot. Happy new year!
Haha, in this case, I was filming, driving, merging onto a freeway, and shifting. None of which should have been happening all at once! Next time I have a proper camera mounted, I may take you up on that :)
The design on this 1st gen TSX still holds up nicely for its age. Same with the blue color. Hopefully this'll also be another high mileage example like the other TSX with 601,754 miles (Or wherever it reads at currently).
I owned a 2006 TSX 6 speed manual (non-Navi) and it was by far my favorite car I ever owned. I put 20k miles on it in a year, and sold it with about 144k miles. I regret selling it!

Great video. Watched both now on this car as I just found a similar car, black on black with 120k miles that I am considering. Any major issues to be aware of at inspection?
That's a tough question to answer. I don't know about "forever," because I am a collector and part of the fun is trying new things from time to time. But I plan to enjoy it for a while and seeing where it takes me!
@TysonHugie it will take you here to Missouri lol. We will see because that's one of my favorite Acuras and tsx bodystyle I also own . My collection is smaller because I can't let mines go lol. Also I'm hoping you keep that rsx.
The K24 engine paired with the 6 speed transmision is a gem. With regular maintenance and avoiding unnecessary engine mods, it will last hundreds of thousands of miles.
Here's to hoping. Thanks!
Very true if well taken care of. My 08 6speed is still on the stock clutch at 186K. I have minimal mods on mine as well.
My TSX is going to reach 250,000 miles soon. Still a far way from Josh's 600,000 miles!
Never owned one, but I’ve always admired these from a distance. Seems like one of those cars with a perfect blend of looks, performance and practicality.

@Tyson Hugie thanks man. Will have more coming with updating the suspension.
Saw the new video posted and had to come back to watch this missed gem! What an absolute beauty!!! I miss my type s🥲
