Great video, I am excited to see it after paint! I was also thrilled to see you went to the old Bell Acura! I remember shopping there with my mom in 2001 and test driving a brand new 2001 TL in Dark Emerald color, it was a beautiful car! It likely would have provided a much better ownership experience than the 2001 Cadillac Catera she ultimately purchased shortly after. Great post!!
You’re a huge part of the reason I’ve decided to continue to buy Acuras, Ty for all the amazing content. Finally landed a 6 speed PWP ‘06 in okay condition. Hyped to restore it to its former glory!
Probably these cars are the best cars ever made! Engines and gearboxes hold up for tons and tons of milages. In Europe these Acura TSX'ses were sold as Honda Accords. I had one. A 2005 2.0 Sport with manual 5 transmission. What a smooth and sporty car it was! I so much regret it having it sold at 300.000kms! I have seen these cars here in Holland reaching more than 500.000kms without any problems. Mine was super reliable too. Nothing broke during 8 years and 300.000kms. Only regular maintenance and tires. At the moment I am looking for a Honda Accord/Acura TSX again. No car is better than these!
The first-gen TSX is one of the best Accords ever made… discuss. Looking forward to seeing what this car looks like as the project progresses. No rust, and (at least from how the tailpipe looks), it’s not an oil burner. That’s a good place to start!
Chanc and I had a quick chat recently about the car restoration project -- which, more than funding, takes PATIENCE. You have more of both than I do. :)
This has definitely heightened my interest in getting one of these. I had a 2004 Accord with the K24A4 and 5MT. It was a blast to drive, but desperately needed a 6th gear. I’m sure the K24A2 with the 6 speed has to be a gem to drive.
@@MA-it3ps Yep, I actually have a 9th Gen Accord now. I would’ve loved to have found an EX model with the 6 speed, but there were none near me. Ended up with the EX-L V6 sedan.
@@KeysWithSoul26 Nice, I also have an EX-L V6. Got it brand new in February 2017 and it was damn near destroyed in a tornado 3 days later😂Entire car had to be repainted after extensive body work
@@TysonHugie definitely, dude! Feel free to come hang at the track this weekend. Me and CJ, the other guy that tracks his TSX out here, will be driving at Bondurant/Radford Racing School. You can even get a ride along with CJ (not me, only because I’m still lacking a passenger seat, lol)
This is my favorite color of the TSX line up. I've never owned a refresh TSX but I've had 3 2004's one I kept 4 years it was a silver 6sp manual. 2 gray auto's and 1 pearl white 05 auto. The manuals are hard to find. Also had one of the 2nd gen 2009 silver NH 743 manual. But only kept 2 years I wasn't real happy with the build quality of that one. Really looking forward to seeing this when it gets out of paint. What a beautiful car! (Jason in SC)
I have an Arctic Blue 2004 AT TSX that I’ve had for nearly 20 years. Was sad to replace it as my daily driver in December as the TSX’s quality has been terrific. Maybe it helped that it was one of the first 4,000 made in Japan.
Miss my 06 6 speed manual. Probably shoulda never sold it. I was looking for a TSX to buy after I got rear ended sitting at a stop light but every one I looked at was in rough shape mechanically with lists of problems.. I'd happily buy one and restore it but not at top dollar asking price like everyone wants out of them so I wound up with a 2006 Hyundai Azera beautiful car my first Hyundai and hopefully someday I'll have another TSX
I must admit all these TSX's are Beautiful! I have the same Artic blue & owned it for 10yrs now. I'd like to know where did you get that toy model TSX you had in your hand at the end of this video?
I had the 04 TSX with Navi which didn't have any aux port, but does the 06 refresh model have an Aux port and bluetooth audio? The first gen TSX still looks better than the second gen TSX.
I have an 06 tsx as well and recently purchased a replica aspec kit. I have the rear lip installed and the fitment isn't the greatest but nothing a little bodywork won't fix. I was wondering where you are able to pick up those foglight covers for the aspec kit? And I love watching your videos!
Sweet! I saw one of the fog lights was busted. I bought a set of Morimoto led whole units and they don’t fit on the 04-05 TSX pre-facelifts I found out. :/ Would you be interested in putting them in your TSX?
@@TysonHugie I do too with the exception of an older TL I had. It was abused but I restored it. It turned out nice but the tranny always had third gear pop out. One of my Honda buddy’s suggested GM synchromesh tranny fluid and I was shocked. It completely stopped the pop out. Anyway I really prefer Honda fluid but I may use GMs fluid for a bad situation 😜
I’ve been curious about Aeroworks. I’ve been searching for a front lip for my 03 Type S for so long. Wanted to stay OEM but may go with this company. How’s the quality and some feedback on the body shop installing? Did they have any trouble with fitment?
