This is sad. And also very frustrating for people who want to play music but don't know any one to actually play with. These guys were lucky enough to basically grow up with each other but still can't get along? Honestly, their music was overshadowed by Bam and all his nonsense, but these guys really made some good shit. They need to all sit down, drop some acid and cry together or something..
i couldn't have said it better myself
You fucking nailed it dude no only is it hard to get people together, but the energy and momentum needed to achieve even a modicum of what these guys have, is already uphill battle. That's not the reason to play music you enjoy, but it's a hard reminder of "What the fuck is life?" lol.
They never would have gone anywhere if bam didn't put them in the Tony Hawk game. That's just objectivey true
His friendship valo is gone too
Holy shit they were so burned out. Just completely exhausted with the business, the process and each other.
You can tell Jess is Bam's brother
I was windowed out and heard it thinking it was Bam.
Oh and I'm from the future, don't go to china in the 2019 or 2020. And buy stock in anything that sells hand sanitizer.
Damn, I remember when all this was new and happening back in 2012.......I can't believe it's been 9 years already
It's so obvious in this video that Deron hated being in the band by this time. Or maybe he just hated his band mates? Also Jess seems pretty exhausted and bitter. Why does recording an album have to be like building a Rolls-Royce? Hasn't Chad had his own full studio for over a decade? And didn't he produce everything? So why the fuck was it so hard to record? Seems to me that they're making excuses for personal problems with each other. Anyway... looking forward to Chad's new project. I don't keep up with what Deron's doing anymore. R.I.P. CKY.
Because what chad always says is that he doesn't want to put out half-ass music. He wants every band member to have their head in the music. And I quote chad on this "I know what cky fans want to listen to and I won't put out any music if there is something missing"
Right, but I don't think Chad being a difficult producer or a perfectionist has anything to do with the problems hinted at in this video. Again, it shouldn't be so hard to make albums if you're in a band full of great musicians who can produce their own stuff. I think the real issues were all based in dumb personal shit and ego. Deron seemed to think he was the only person who should write songs for CKY, and he also seemed to be losing his ability/motivation to do so at this point. "There's no demand for that." he says about a new CKY album... Yet there's demand for 4 half-assed solo albums? ... Probably the most idiotic thing the guy ever said.
Valentin Allogeno the 4 individual album thing was just Deron’s idea to expose the limited ability of the other 3. He knows they weren’t capable. He was done carrying them.
I think deron is way more talented than chad
Deron seems impossible
Damn, man, this interview makes me feel so guilty for pirating their music back when I was like 13. I mean, they're saying "we hate making our product to have it stolen", so I personally contributed to a portion of their collapse lmao.
If you couldn't have afforded it in the first place then it still would've had the same effect
Everything was taken for granted at this time. Its a real shame.
R.I.P. good cKy. cKy wont be the same will never be the same without deron
Yea it's called 96 bitter beings now and it's better than anything Chad's doin w the stolen cKy name
@@deangelobayley7079 who or where is cKy name stolen from?
@@2dopesick deron never copyrighted the name so bam went n grabbed it before he could . i feel its stolen cuz the music part of cky is derons work not bam
@@deangelobayley7079 good to know, thanks!
@@deangelobayley7079 Yeah, Bam is kind of a shit bag for that.
''Jess doesnt really write..or sing...or play guitar, so...idk what hes gonna do w his record..."
-Deron 'cold as ice' Miller
i hate to agree but chad is the only one that has the guts to face the painful truth here. i totally get jess and deron on how they are exhausted having to undertake a painful process of creating a record and then it turns out it is not worth it, or it does not turn out how they'd imagined it would. i think those guys, except chad, eventually had to go on separate ways and go experiment with stuff, i get it. we now have 96 bitter beings and cky both. and the preview of 96 bitter beings single 'slither away' sounds so promising which gets me excited. but honestly, in my heart i wish they had never had to go on separate ways, i would really be willing to hear some stuff like infiltrate.destroy.rebuild.
Then listen to i.d.r
I'd say Chad was the problem. The rest of the band was happy to go away and work on stuff where they each take the lead on their project in their own style and release it as part of a cky package, which would have been brilliant and could even refresh cky as a band because they could then use their strengths and positives from their own stuff and weave it into cky future projects. Only wanting to do things one way or only wanting to make 'cky' songs can be incredibly restrictive creatively and can kill the drive and desire the other band mates have.
Look at SOAD. Their halting came about in a similar way. Serj wanted to do things differently, Darren just wanted to continue on as they were, so, they went on a long hiatus which was the best thing for them. This seems like a cky split was the best thing that could come for the band too.
Chad refusing to do anything other than cky is the thing that created the split cos he's not willing to try anything new for the band to grow.
Chad's the only level-headed one here.
Lmfao
Because Chad doesn’t have to suffer thru the task of having to work with Chad.
Deron was clearly sick of him, and wanted to leave. That’s his prerogative. Sucks that the band is no more, but can’t blame him.
Yeah, Chad ... the guy that didn't want to record a solo album and label it CKY ... who did exactly that when he squatted on the band name after Deron left. Super level headed
When your idea is a 4 cd set ala the KISS solo albums , call it a day
Correct. You can tell Deron's idea is more units = more sales, etc. Deron is amazing at songwriting but has a shit attitude in general if things aren't exactly as he wants, and Chad is amazing engineer but lackluster songwriter vocalist, etc. They need each other or neither is anything. Current Cky is just like Chad's solo shit which is ironic considering what he said at the start of this video. He's correct about everything else he says here, though. Chad and Jess were always very cool with me personally I've been lucky enough to hang after shows (even on the bus ONCE) several times! I grew up with Cky.
@@FreneticZetetic did you indulge in any cannabis or...other stuff, friend?

So sad. This is the disillusion artists are faced with these days. I have made record with bands too, and they get downloaded and are seen as free work to the general public who don't realize how painstaking it is to make it.
Seem's like the band became a bit heartbroken and then it all fell apart in the aftermath (Derron was an ass too)
The hours jamming, the money on gear, the fights, the TIME.....people don't get it
@@DrMurdercock Yep- the endless mixing, the tone quest, the tendonitis, the technical breakdowns, the noise complaints, the poverty. And then people act like they're doing you a favor by listening to something you're giving them for free. And they have the gall to wonder why music sucks now- when only an idiot would make it under these circumstances.
I love deron's guitar work, but he really does seem burnt out here I guess you can't blame him.
Dang, how have I never seen this. Quite an insight into what was happening in the band at the time. I love LOVE Deron and without him, there's no CKY in my eyes, but he really seems like the problem here...obviously done with the whole "band thing" 😩 and now he's singing for Malevolent Creation, a band with an extremely checkered past, that I do not really feel comfortable supporting. Maybe if the racist asshole in the band weren't still in it, but idk man...sucks because Deron is probably my favorite songwriter/guitarist, or is at least up there with the best ever.
Chad is the only one making sense. Deron is delusional wtf is he talking about here?
You would think they could put their egos aside, which is basically what Chad is saying in this video, and make a new album for the sake of touring. Which is where the real money is these days in music. Touring. CKY without Deron isn't the same, but it's clear Deron wanted out of CKY based on this video. He looked mentally checked out from the whole project.
@Romagical I feel IDR was also the best, the first is good, but too "raw". IDR from VOL 1 is a huge differance, both good, but IDR has more work involved, I believe.
I Love this band. Always have. Its unlike any music out there, It is very well written and very well performed, all they need as a band is great P.R. look at all the shit acts making millions. Off of what? Some fat-ass in a booth writing lyrics, most acts don't write their material. this band does. I'm sorry CKY, the sheeple would rather listen to the same 25 songs played on the radio for a year straight, than open their ears and take in anything new. Hit the Studio One last Time, write your lives, the way you lived . Hard. ThM
Jess' analyzation of writing records (the rollsroyce reference) is fucking genius , and so true.
Let Deron & Jess work together on Something
And Matty & Chad on something else
See who comes out victorious!
I hated Chad for that whole Afterworld video, but I'm totally with him on this one.. they are a band none of this individual shit
The true beginning of the end of this line-up. Thankfully CKY are still here. Go see them.
I grew up listening to this band since I was 13. I'm 27 now. I have Vol 1, Vol 2, IDR, Answer can be found, and carver city. I even have their dvds cky, cky2k cky3, IDR video album, etc. I remember going on "ask cky" on their website everyday back when I was in high school. They had the talent, the music, and a loyal fanbase. Unfortunately, they were mis-marketed by their record labels and depended their entire exposure/advertising/existance on Bam Margera. They also had a big ego, took themselves too seriously. Mix that with drugs and alcohol, you got a morale problem. That Christmas show they did in 2011 was horrible.
hellofajr drugs? I don’t think that any CKY members where on drugs
Chad experimented with drugs before CKY probably during CKY, according to the askCKY sections in their defunct website. But when it comes Alcohol, you betcha especially with Deron.
dezmounts Chad was addicted to Valium and openly said he can’t remember the majority of the IDR tour. Deron was addicted to alcohol at one point too.
@@lordboltok2354 Your never addicted to alcohol at one point, sadly an alcoholic is always an alcoholic, whether they drink, take breaks or go cold turkey.
And we all know how that went. Love me some Rock n Roll Alibis!
I hope you realize that CKY will never be the same even WITH Deron.
I get it. Its difficult continuing such a legacy in a positive direction. Its much more pressure and a heavier ball to push up a steeper hill than starting as a "nobody" with the freedom to expand. The friendships and brotherhood which seemed so close knit is being stretched or unravelled. Further, the earler sequel albums probably had a 'pink cloud' element which inevitably wore-off. Im someone who wrote to cKy asking them to get back together at all costs 2 years ago. Here, somehow I feel like the band heard all of us and is now sitting here in front of us because of their dedication to the cKy Alliance. They dont know what to do or how to do it. But they're answering the call. Its sad because it was never meant to get like this. Just wanna speak for myself but personally if this isn't the year to put back the pieces then I think it would be better if the band just kept trying to put the friendships back. Though As eager as my ears are, We can all be patient for the correct material rather than a forced poisoned piece done incorrectly. CC was well worth the long wait, and in deed it delivered, with nothing else left to be desired. A masterpiece and the perfect direction. "On Steroids". as Jess pergectly put it. Took the words out of my mouth. So, my thoughts to cKy as follows: i hope they tolerate each other with good intention and hope to do something someday if the right time comes. Keep an open ear and I guess just do unto each other ...you get the point. You'll know if/when the time comes. Glad to see this recent footage. Like seeing an old friend at a reunion.
Ryan M There's no way in hell they'll go back to being how they used to be.
Honestly, Carver City bored me. Just sounds like cheesy death rock with the octave thing again. They really need to expand their sound.
Either way, it doesn't matter. They won't get back together. Deron and Chad tried last year, and it failed so badly. Now this stupid ass talk about Deron talking about CKY without the other members, it's just sad.
What's going to happen, he's going to just right more octave riffs with cheesy death metal lyrics again?
Tried not to make up my mind too quick about CC because it sounded shallow to me at first. Given enough listen I was able to see what they were going for and that he was passionate about creating the best as possible (he, the writer, deron). I have no problem with the direction it is headed, and we all know they do the octave thing but it doesn't make or break the band, its just their personal preference. Its accepted like overdrive or reverb. CC did expand in respect to synthesizer/electronic color up. I try to imagine the steps along building each song while mid listen and I gain respect for it, especially when I focus on changes and breaks in tempo. Fantastic
Chad is not a must have. He's just decor if you ask me. Anyone can do his bit
Ryan M It must be a personal thing. I just can't really dig Carver City that much.
I liked how they tried to layer guitars more, and how there were guitar harmonies, but ultimately, I just couldn't dig the album too much.
I think a lot of the lyrics turned me off the album, because most of it felt like a bunch of cheesy horror stories. It might be stupid, but lyrics give a subversive theme, and when it's stuff like, some angsty kid being violent in a skating contest, or an entire song dedicated to seeing a dead body, I just can't really dig it.
A lot of the songs also were rehashes of old unofficially released songs. It's cool that they reworked it, but it gives the allusion they're running out of material to write.
Another problem is this annoying shit with Deron writing music he can't play and sing live.
Chad told him to not do that in the 2014 meetup and Deron got all pissed off about it, but he's right.
Ryan M I really do think Chad is a must have. I think he's essential, way more than Jess.
Now, the problem with Chad is that he wanted to make cock rock at the end of CKY, that's the problem, but Chad definitely is a part of CKY to me.
He's the one that made Disengage The Simulator the way it is. He does a lot of the leads, and is an excellent guitarist.
Willing to bet 90 percent of you haven't a clue about what it's like to be in a high-functioning band. That shit can really drain you.
I'm 100 percent sure that you don't have a clue what it's like to be in a high-functioning band either.
@MrMarkphillips132 yea man, it sucks i just hope they keep playing and do what they do..but Deron has been fucked up recently, when I saw him play here in LI his voice went and the singer/guitarist from my friends band got up on stage and helped Deron sing the rest of the set. It was cool but he's gotta take care of his voice more.
If you go back to the very beginning of CKY you'd never think that Chad would end up being the sensible, positive, social one... Deron has a serious chip on his shoulder, which is a major shame - he's such a talented musician. Pull it the fuck together, I've never seen Jess's face that persistently miserable for that long...
Most people on this board talk like they know these guys after watching this little 8 minute movie. Why not be satisfied with the awesome music they made? and quit bitching about 'aww man! Jess and Deron are BUZZKILLS....' They made music unlike any that I had heard before.
@magicadd I'm pretty sure Jess seems stoked and agrees with Deron. Why is everyone attacking Deron?
Tell me your band is breaking up without telling me your band is breaking up.
@ 5:53-6:03 Hey Deron, welcome to Dave Mustaines life for the last 30+ years. The problem Cky could have, is the same problem PanterA ran into. Its hard to keep writing the same great song over and over. Great bands can do it, but its hard to do it for 20 years. I cant remember the last time Megadeth or Slayer has put out a decent song. And those are 2 of my favorite bands.I just heard Metallicas new album, it is really really good. And Ive been dogging those guys since the Black Album.
Great fucking video!!!
i would kill for that 4cd deal but i would live for a new cky album
Now I see why deron left the band.
Spectacular video piece! The most raw presentation of the guys I've ever seen. I'll take this over 20,000 cell phone videos of live shows any day of the week. One of the biggest draws to CKY has always been their personalities, and that's something that's been missing these past 7-8 years - the ability to connect with them as people. Everything's been random whispering behind other band members' backs (over Ask CKY) and second-hand accounts of fights or disagreements they had. THIS is what's up.
Deron is too worried about World Under Blood (which is going to bed amazing by the way) and Jess is to worried about The Company Band and his new band. I can understand that they don’t want to spend a year and make a record and have it stolen on the internet I. I think they should have a preorder and who ever preorders should get a copy of the album, so they aren’t over printing albums.
The whole Roles Royce analogy really hit home for me.
Yes.
I love Chads attitude. He seems to be the only member to really care about CKY.
I get what you mean only to a very small extent. But it sounds like Deron was tired of being the main creative brain behind CKY, which he absolutely was.
Chad:"why would it suck if its us doing it?"
You can tell here Deron was wanting to go into a different direction. Jess seems like he would’ve been down for whatever was the least amount of stress, and it is so encouraging to see how Chad is just wanting to make it happen. Can you imagine he was a producer and had his own stuff going on when he came across Oil and believed in them so much he joined. He still believes in them. You can tell Deron has the type of writing style where he needs to drag an idea to the cave and be alone with it to craft it before he is ready to present. It’s like he doesn’t trust the other guys musical abilities. Such a damn shame. But the Phoenix is pretty dope, maybe eventually they’ll patch it up Deron can jump back in and they’ll pick up where they left off from.
I love CKY with all of my heart. But I hate the fucking sense of entitlement they have. NEWSFLASH: Every band is trying to succeed in the same industry. There's plenty of bands who have never had half of the exposure that these guys have, and they don't constantly piss and moan about people stealing the records online. It's part of life now. Adapt or die.
Right and it's only gotten worse making my comment even more relevant today!
codeezie The way to make it now is constant touring, get songs in movies and tv shows, play on shows like letterman etc. and release singles over a whole album, way less cost and way less time but i can understand why they aren't happy with the situation
Well they were apart of the age of record sales. Now that record sales are in the toilet bands have to figure out other ways to make money. Touring and Merch is huge, but you also have to have a web presence. Unfortunately CKY just hasn't been able to adapt to the new music industry.
CJ Hill And selling the fuck out of merch. I've been playing music since 1992 and I only do because I love it. I still go record and I know it will never sell, and I'm gonna lose money. But I still fuckin love hearing it myself so it's worth it.
Back in the 90s we would press 1000 records on vinyl and sell 300 but I didn't care. We were on a fuckin record. We got a label in 1998 and got advances and the labels got all nazi about bootlegs or anything they didn't approve. I couldn't put out a record on my own anymore and so I gave them 4 shit records and finished our contract and went back to DIY. And btw, if you're not top dog on a label they won't take care of you at all. No promo nothing. You're basically still on your own and making less money. 3 cents a CD! Vs the 3$ a cd we all split.
CKY had a lot of potential but their name carried a lot of weight because of Bam. Bam was funny, but he was not original at all. He literally copied everything or just stole it. Maybe you can say he's highly impressionable n shit. But still. He took band logos n names and made them his. I can see why the band might be bitter. But they should keep going and quit moaning. I always get irritated when bands complain that have done well when there better unknown bands busting their ass to play shows for real people - not people there for drink specials or friends who come to support them. To put out a record and all that work that goes into to. And really just any band for that matter.
It's why I was so drawn to punk rock and was in a punk band for so long. Now I'm playing punk but it's far more advanced I guess you could say. And it's still fun. The scene sucks and it isn't the same but i love it just the same - but do miss the 90s man. That was the peak times and it was a fuckin blast.
Hi, Phil. I would like to request permission to use video-only clips from this video, CKY in the UK July 2009, and the Deron Miller chronicles for a retrospective video on Carver City and beyond that I am currently writing and editing. Your videos will be credited and linked in the description of my video. Didn't know a better means of contacting you, so I figured this might work best.
This is a few years old by now but it's still a pretty depressing set of interviews. It really hits home where things were turning at that point. Hopefully, the things I've read about a cKy mend are true. cKy alliance for life.
You can tell Chad doesn't give a fuck about how much money he gets from making music.
This sums the vibe of this video up perfectly:
02:50 - hit this repeatedly
@rkisf90 cKy seems like a decent newspaper in the tabloid obsession going on now - it doesn't sell nearly as well, but when it's gone, it'll be remembered for having been one of the heroes of true music. Who they are and what they do, they might not ever become the Rolling Stones in sales or tickets sold, but they sure as hell deserve every inch of cred they form. The Alliance won't ignore them.
cont. Letting people download your music freely is the best way to get your music out and promote yourself. If your music is truly good, people will buy your merchandise, tell friends about your band and go see you perform. Basically if you like what you download, then support it. Look at the band Nylithia, they are realeasing their album completely free. Its not the fault of the artist asking for money, or people sharing what they enjoy. The true underlying problem is the monetary system itself
@jamesfmurphy I'm pretty sure 4 albums would cost more than one. I don't think anyone besides the CKY alliance (including myself) would purchase that anyway. They should tough it out and do another CKY album, not just for the fans, but for their sake as well.
I can see the pain in Jess' eyes, they're all coping with the loss of Dunn and it's just piled on top of their problems.
Come on guys, support this band, I've looked upto them since I was a young, young lad myself.
Support cKy.

And now Chad is putting out half assed butt rock under the CKY name while Deron is releasing amazing new cky songs in 96 Bitter Beings. I used to like Chad quite a bit back in the day, now not so much.
I also agree with Chad.
Maybe they should talk to Clutch, I know they're good friends with them. Clutch have been around since the early 90s and they still pump out albums and still have that love of being together and just jamming.
yo call up dico to sing for you chad or jess that would be sick, wooodoo
@metallica5252 fyi, Deron had lost his voice due to allergies, he mentioned it to me at that show. He couldn't even talk when he woke up that morning and he was really nervous about the show. His vocals are fine, given the way he sings. He's actually gotten a lot better in my opinion.
I understand both parties ideas and fully support them while understanding where each member is coming from. I don't feel that deron is being whimpy I feel that he feels that he shouldn't have to have the responsibility of creating the skeleton as he calls it of an album it truly can be very stressful while the others sit around and wait. Now I'm not saying that's what Chad and jess (I exclude Matty j due to him not being on any of the previous albums) does but it can really ware ya down when
Hey, what Chad said, go into a room, stay there, & write some songs. The solo stuff might work, it might not, but Chad's making sense in this whole thing, they need to just get into a room, deal with each other, & make another album. Solo stuff would be great, but don't make an album out of solo material, just experiment, for a few weeks, then meet up to see what each person's come up with.
I don't understand how a band could not be in a room and write together. Isn't that they way it should be? Why is Deron acting like it's such a crazy idea. What happened between all of them anyway that they're so set against not really working together? Chad's fucking amazing and needs to find something that will utilize his talents. I say Cky without Deron and start getting shit done.
Cky without Derron.
But theres a lil problem with that idea. You see, Derron is cky.
I don't know if another album would be right. When I look from the beginning right up to Carver City/B-sides and Rarities, they are all genius albums with some of the best music around in my opinion, and I think B-sides and Rarities is a good end to an awesome career of making such amazing and ground-breaking music. I would personally love to see solo work from Deron and Chad, and remember CKY as the awesome music right from Camp/Vol. 1, to IDR, up to B-sides and Rarities and everything between
Should of just kicked Chad out of the band. CKY sucks now.
You do realize that Chad is the mastermind behind all the production right? Deron is a riff machine but has/had no idea how to produce. This is evident in the 96 Bitter Beings recordings.
Kerry McCall Deron wrote every song on the four albums
Yes there is demand Deron! I love you guys, CKY is probably one of the best bands I've ever discovered, but we want new music because we know we'll love it. Don't let CKY become one of those bands that keeps on touring for another decade or two playing the same old songs over and over.
Wow, talk about jaded.
What the fuck are they talking about
@badassmckeving I'm pretty sure they tour'd and recently finished touring. Why would it take so long to upload this video? I'm sure this was filmed after one of their last gigs, hence all the noise in the background.
Anyway, why do you care about these facts so much? support the band, not the satisfaction of feeling correct. I've not followed cKy for a long time, but I did a few years back.
Some dates may be wrong, or whatever... support the damn band.
Support cKy.
Ryan Dunn... R.I.P.
Really interesting. Thanks for this. I gotta say the 4 solo albums idea is really lame. CIG has the right idea here. I know they all seem not to like each other haha, but he's right.
I remember having a feeling they weren’t going to be a band much longer, but hoping I was wrong. The first time I saw this video, I knew they were dead.
30 minute drum solo... That's what Jess would do.
Maybe Deron should quit bitching about the ownership of the CKY name and join Chad, Jess, and Matt again. idk what the BIG prolem with them is to him but i think it's ridiculous because all i heard was according to Chad's Instagram, Deron left CKY because Chad's jewish. I could be wrong though.
thats so fucking wrong man, i wont sit here and tell you why Deron wont play with Chad,Jess and Deis anymore cause its gonna take forever, you can listen to the " sinners ball" podcast cause they interview Deron and he pretty much tells the whole story of the situation
could you somehow at least give us a summary, 'cause i'm curios about it and lazy to sit through the whole podcast. would be appreciated.
It’s important to remember that major record labels are far more guilty of ripping bands off than any file sharing fan is or ever will be.
Yeah, hopefully Chad succeeds in revitalizing them. They're confused and discouraged, and I can see why after all these years of difficulties.
Chad was the 3rd person to come along and join the original 2 (Margera and Miller) to form this incredible band. Ginsburg seems way more vested in this band than either Jess or Deron.
“Vested” as in needs the paycheck the most
I know that. Chad "Individual" Ginsburg. Deron is fucked up.
He's been given a chance if not many to get his shit together. You realize he's changed into a drunk rockstar wannabe now right?
Deron isn't compatible with the rest of CKY anymore. It's just a fact.
What do you want him to do, force him to stay with CKY and write CKY songs mediocre at best for now on? CKY hasn't been the same since their little hiatus shit. He's lost his steam.
They would definitely be more pumped if they're records didn't get swiped.
+TheSoaDShreds THe music is in the tours now, not the albums. These idiots are talking about pressing CDs still too. Just release the album for $5 on their website so more people can afford it and then tour. I have pirated many albums in my day but a $5 album wouldnt even be worth stealing. I'd buy it in an instant.
They are the last remaining REAL 4 part band
The Band splitting up right here! Sad :(

Chad, I see exactly where you're coming from!
This video is a little hard to watch. I really don't blame them. Especially Jess' side. It's not him "wanting money", it's the fact that they all try so damn hard at what they create and people don't appreciate it enough to buy it and support them. I totally get that. Deron seems... weary, worn. Not surprising in the climate of music today. Chad seems motivated which is a good thing to see, glad to see Chad is still firing full cylinders for Cky, his idea I like the most, not to (1/2)
Don’t even know this bassist, but holy shit were Deron and Jess burnt out at this time.
I'm With Chad, He Know's What's Right. End Of
He killed CKY
Jess sounds ...just like Bam
More like bam sounds like Jess
@MrMarkphillips132 i guess but that doesn't mean CKY isn't making money, i'm sure they all made millions..think of how much additional money they make for their songs being in video games too
@CyborgEugenics Im in the same boat. Never cared much for chad till now, I guess I never gave him a chance. I definitely would like to see a more jam oriented album from them! Fuck the side project bullshit. If you cant make music together MOVE ON!
@sjgamble as much as i think Chan is giving up, and Jess is just worried about money, i think they still care inside. and i dont know, maybe if they made solo albums they could take a little break for CKY they when they got back together they could have a better idea where each other is coming from by seeing the music they make on their own and use it so they can work together and make music with equal resposibilities. but as of right now things arent looking good. and im sad to say but its over
@1stghostshadow I just think it sucks because Deron is the one who wrote the songs and riffs and his voice is one of the defining features and if he were to leave or somehting and somebody else, Chad, or anyobdy for that matter, it would never sound like it does. and its a shame because it seems like Chad, Jess, and Matty are really into cKy and with Deron the combined talent is so great but without Deron, itd be ehhhh. i think theyd still be great, but not cKy great.
It's obvious that Deron and Jess have no interest in moving forward with the band, which is sad to see being a fan the past 11 years. The lackluster sales of CC and B-Sides must have really hurt Jess judging by his comments. Matty is just trying to play mediator which is expected, and Chad is just holding onto whatever might be left. I knew that something was coming the moment I heard Deron wasn't singing on Afterworld. Sucks for everyone that they are going to go out like this.
i would've never thought a death metal dude could act like such a wimpy chick.. you're fucking rock dudes wtf is the problem - sit down and make the brilliant music you make..
jess always goes to that insane rant about 'illegal' downloading - it's music, you get paid to tour and play gigs and shit, it's been like that for atleast 15 years, get over it, you should be happy that anyone ever even downloaded your stuff.
Also I know Jess really hates downloading music illegally, and im not gunna defend the people who do, but thats just how it goes these days. It shouldnt stop you from making and releasing music. I would hope that the music means more to you than the money.
I think if everyone wants to write solo stuff, then go back on hiatus and make solo albums, dont force each other into writing six songs for a deadline then making CKY fans pay for all four albums together when one might suck
This new idea sounds retarted. Didn't they already do side projects like Jess's TCB and Deron's WUB. Chad & Matt have yet to make anything. Also, sharing is not stealing! Copying an album creates something, not steals it. And if people who download never had the money to buy the album in the first place, then the artist isn't losing something they were never going to get. A true artist motivation is making great art and letting as many people enjoy it as possible, not making lots of money.
the live intro they do for hellveiw..... that came from jamming right? anyone in a band knows music gets produced from jamming! deron is so negative... cky need to be more positive bout stuff, yeah music gets stolen but doing 4 diff cd's.... isnt gonna work, how will jess's cd get made, itll take agess, how will they tour that? for bands these days, touring is the main source of income.. not a project tha'll take so long to make
Dont blame Deron about "ruining" the band. I dont like the idea at all but you cant blame him for wanting to try new things. I agree 100% with Chad I need a new CKY album I love them all. And dont blame Jess and Deron for getting mad at stealing music it is a shame that people do it because I like there music and it hurts them because they arent one of the most famous bands ever. But in the end CKY needs a new album maybe they need a break for a little bit but please CKY make a new album!!
You guys need to remember why you wanted to make music together in the first place, deron is a bit overly pessimistic but rightfully so, chad is on the right track but isn't really taking in some stuff. 4 albums is a clusterfuck idea, a new album is non essential. Focus on the core of the band, no bad ever comes from you guys jamming more. Start small, write a 4/5 track EP, write it during a few weeks of jamming, fresh, new, low risk, what could be better.
I hate to be bitching on my faveriout band but fuck sake CkY is a band if Deron and Jess's hearts are not in making a CKY album dont call 4 solo ep's CKY I understand the point about people stealing music but I have every album I bought Carver CIty and An Answer Can Be Found when the first came out Deron and Jess should be happy that they have a select few fans who sitll buy the albums I totally agree with Chad what is the worst that could happen if the 4 of them got together and tried to write?
@fudgehead333 I don't think it's fair to attack either, but you have to really wonder why the hell he would think like this. I mean is it a CKY album if they're all doing separate stuff? Chad's trying to take it back and strip it down to the basics, get with your best friends and jam the fuck out. I think this is exactly what they need after all the troubles producing Carver City and it taking a long time. Whatever they do though, I can't wait.
I can't agree more with Chad. They need to just get over it and make a good record. If it's good then people will pay attention to it. I will always love CKY but seeing them divided like this is hard to hear. Chad and Matty J seem like they're down to really smash out a new album for the Alliance, and this 4 album thing sounds too disjointed to even be a CKY effort. I hope they can just get over it all, and get together and make a real record together. As a band. GO CHAD!!!!!!!!!
If Deron doesn't want to go into the studio and record new songs for HIS band because "it's not worth it", then he can leave. We want CKY music, not "solo records." I don't think Jess and Matty are completely behind him on this, and Chad is definitley not. However, I'm with Chad 100%. If you guys are scared to sit in a room together and write music because you're scared it will suck, then don't make it suck. You guys know what sounds good. Gosh, why isn't the rest of the band as smart as Chad?
Ok, this is the day I officially give up on CKY. It's blatantly obvious they don't want to be in a band together anymore so why bother?
Why force 4 "solo albums" and make out its a band effort?
Why blame the industry and fans for priacy when they were a band that said "fuck the industry"?
They sound like a bunch of lazy whiny gits right now, so they should just quit while they're ahead. Albums take logn to write, so they sound perfect! Jesus... ¬.¬
