I don't know much about the whole drama part but I feel like Jess is like come on guys can we just get along and play gym like we used to the good old days
Their music isnt that bad now. They should definitely get back together and forget their egos for a change. Deron wont ever make a band that will sound like CKY. The stuff CKY put out a few years ago still sounded like CKY. Its just the guitar player thats singer now isnt a great frontman. He's a decent singer and a killer guitar player, but to be a front man you need that IT. Deron has it.
The Songs from Infiltrate Destroy Rebuild, Vol 1 and Answer Can Be Found are Fucking FOUNDATIONAL to me and thousands of other kids who grew up with those absolute bangers.
Looking at that Bam Margera breakdown video, Deron Miller not getting the CKY name was a blessing in disguise. Bam Margera needs to spend that money he gets in CKY Royalites in a Therapist.
I saw CKY 4 times. Deron and Jess (Vern and then Matt) came out everytime after the concert and talked to people and were so cool and down to earth and Chad was no where each time.
Friends here! This was a great interview. You did an awesome job engaging with him. You asked great questions too. I liked what he said about spending more time with the fans. We really liked this. Thank you so much for sharing this. We are definitely looking forward to hearing more!
Great interview, Chris. As always you bring a hot dish to your channel! This video/ interview brings back a lot of memories. From 1993-1997 I was the leader (composer, arranger and piano player) of the second oldest band in Cuba (13 musicians), and as we were desperately trying to leave the country for obvious reasons, the amount of discrepancies, arguments, you name it, were daily increasing. I guess it comes with fame. In November 1997 I went to Canada. Shortly after that the band got apart and everyone went their way. It’s a complex situation, I guess it’s something that has to do with human ego. I’m happy this good singer and guitar player found his way. Thanks for sharing Chris. Keep rocking my friend 👊🔥👊
It’s unfortunate how drama is so prevalent among bands, but I imagine that comes with having very passionate people. Very interesting to hear from his perspective.
Ive never actually listened to them before. Great interview. I like what he said about needing “permission” to be confident. It’s so true. Thanks for sharing
Sometimes when bad things happen, it's to lead us down the path of the good things to come. If people have to bring you down in an attempt to bring themselves up, their inability will eventually come to light. It sounds like they were threatened by his abilities so he is better off without them. When people try to bring someone down or sabotage others, I just smile knowing that there is always KARMA. They are determining there own future fate. Awesome interview.
Hello Chris, sitting here and enjoying your effortless conversation...this interview... and other than probably most listeners ;)) trying to learn from your skills. You are a really good listener. It shows big time.. I like that you jump right into it here with " I never wanted to quit that band"... and then you get the best out of him right away... where Deron is talking all free and in most honesty about Australia. Also like the ending and him saying how much he loves to give it loads. :) Best, Sunshine
I saw CKY in Dallas a good while back. This was actually right around the time Michael Jackson passed. I remember two things specifically about that show: 1. Ape and Phil showed up in a Blue Taxi and sat in the balcony by themselves and watched the entire show. Deron even tried getting Ape on stage for Close Yet Far. 2. Deron belted out one of the most badass rock covers of Beat It in an incredible nod to the King of Pop. It was, to this day, one of my top 3 best concerts / most rememberable shows that I've been to. I was always a fan, but as a musician myself, that show was when I realized the pipes and musical talent that Deron has. Dude is amazing, and I would agree, that band is NOTHING without him.
Thanis for the great interview Chris!!! Finding the right mates is crucial to longevity for a band . . .hard to do!!! . .. thanks for digging in there like you always do . . all the best. . . jeff
Chis another stellar interview with the former member of that band. It sounds like he's got new things going on with great potential! He said he didn't appreciate things when he should have...we've all done that! Sounds like he has different goals now, and wants to reach out more to his fans. As I said before you are a Great interviewer and listener! Rock on!! Like
It's sad how good bands implode, but good to hear that he's got a new musical venture going on. Also, I can't state enough how I enjoy your interviewing style, in obtaining lovely nuggets of information, as well as making your guests the stars of the show unlike some interviewers. Stay safe my dude and keep on doing what you're doing 🎶🎼☺🎸📻
Another beautifully intimate interview Chris! Very inspiring to hear Deron share his own story of personal growth❤️😊😊. Wishing you a wonderful weekend!😊
Hi Chris 👋 It is so nice to meet you. This was a great interview 🎉 He really is passionate about this and he will do well in the next stage in his life. We go through many phases in our lives and he is ready for the next. Thanks for sharing 🎉
Another professional interview Chris. I always appreciate your style, you seem to have one of those personalities that makes a person want to open up to. 😊
"Most of the times you weren't even in the mix and you didn't even know it" - haha! I remember having to re-record some other members' parts in my old band -- sometimes it was for the entire song, lol. Writing all of the material and doing almost all the work is just crushing -- and then to have people go behind your band and steal what you built -- that's too toxic. I'm happy Deron moved on and found an amazing team to work with! Thanks for the great interview -- and I hope he'll keep things rolling!
Chris , Wow killer interview man nice to hear his side of the story and future plans . Thank you for sharing this interview with us well done big like 189 as always hope you have a Great week. 👍😎
It's nice that people are funding their records. I'm glad he feels it's the best thing he's ever done. He has such a great attitude and seems like he cares more about the art then the fame. Great interview... you always have a way for them to open up. Very interesting indeed. 👍LIKE #245
Man I fucking miss Deron. But he’s wrong about something, it’s definitely not 300 people want a real Cky reunion, it’s more like 3 million. If not more. I would kill to get those days back, the days of the real Alliance. I miss all of you crazy fucks.
Really cool interview! I joined your channel 🤘🏼 “you helped change my life” is an awesome thing for a musician to realize and take seriously that they have done for a fan. Keep up the great work!
Deron was a huge part of CKY the band AND the movies. It amazes me that Bam or Frantz or whoever would just take that away from him. I just watched all the CKY's the other day and I never realized before how many times he's shown being the cameraman, doing stunts, etc.
I was under the impression that his substance abuse issues were part of why he left, I thought I remember reading that years and years ago. If so I wouldn't be ashamed of that and try to down play it. I'm an alcoholic though I've been sober for 9 years, and have a lot of respect and compassion for other addicts who can turn it around. If that wasn't the case for him leaving, well, guess I misunderstood the situation.
excellent interview Chris, you hear it all the time how bands break up, screw each other over, cheat one out of something, just move on and show the world what you can do, always have in writing the rights to YOUR music! wish you the best Deron,
Those last two albums "CKY" put out with "CiG" as a front man are absolute shit. Trying to use their old fan base to try his own bullshit out. 😏 Looking forward to 96 Bitter Beings!
As always Chris... another great interview! Interesting to hear the real person perspective coming from the band members themselves. I learn something new in all music groups from your channel. Sometimes I admit, I do have to GOOGLE a few! ;O) Great share my friend! Keep em coming. ~blessings~
I was at the final CkY show with Deron as the frontman. I still had a great time but you knew it was the end. Especially when me and my friend approached him after the show and while he was signing my friends shirt he said idk why I’m even doing this anymore. I originally thought it was about his guitar being sold. I told Chad I have the same guitar and with the same vinyl sticker on it in the same place and I’d let Deron use it for the shows. He said I should’ve brought it with me that night. So I guess that was both of them saying it’s over
Deron Miller the legend of the 4 string guitar riffs
I just want a Deron and Jess reunion.
I don't know much about the whole drama part but I feel like Jess is like come on guys can we just get along and play gym like we used to the good old days
Same 😞
I agree. CKY is dead pretty much, without Deron.
100%
It’s like Sublime.

@@JanoyCresva Derons Current Band 96BB sounds more like CKY than actual CKY now.
Deron was the sound and soul of CKY.
Deron Miller is CKY. Have always said it. So glad to have met this man, along with Ken, Shaun, and Tim in January
This guy is a underated song writer...
The Songs from Infiltrate Destroy Rebuild, Vol 1 and Answer Can Be Found are Fucking FOUNDATIONAL to me and thousands of other kids who grew up with those absolute bangers.
Deron Miller's the shit! Love his music!!
Awesome interview Chris. I wish Deron best of luck on his new band❤👍😊
Deron you are the best !!! CKY is not the same without you and never will be 🙏🏻
Loved cky in my teenage years skateboarding around ah man good times

Never saw them live but you can tell Chad has this stereotypical Rockstar persona. You can see it. -_-
First album i ever bought was CKY-IDR and to this day probably the most important album i ever bought. Il always be team Deron!

Hi, Chris! Great interview! Thanks for sharing :)
Good interview!
But in 2011 Deron clearly posted on both Facebook and AskCKY that he was quitting 😂
He also burned one of the CKY albums and posted it online.
Very cool interview Chris Deron sounded like he wanted to get this off his chest the right way. Excellent to listen too.
