    This truly is amazing! Made it yesterday and we are loving it! Best banana bread EVER!!! Had a small amount of batter left over after filling the flower bundtlette pan and so buttered the small 6"x2" Fat Daddio pan and spread the batter out in that, then baked it at 275 degrees F for 20 minutes, then at 250 degrees F for another 5 minutes in the Ninja Foodi. Spread the top with butter and a small amount of the praline topping that was left in the pan. My husband LOVED his banana bread "COOKIE"! Thank you so much for this and all of your delicious recipes. You rock!!

    OMGosh Louise, I just made this bread/cake and I am blown away. This is by far the best banana bread I have ever made in my 50 years of baking. I was skeptical about the outcome in the Ninja Foodie but holy cow..... so good. Thank you for sharing your recipe. I can't wait to make the next cake.

    I have some silicone muffin cups and used this recipe, except for the praline, and made wonderful muffins with them. I used the crisper basket without the trivet to put the silicone muffin cups in and they came out beautiful using the exact same recipe and time as the banana bread recipe. Thank you so much for taking the time to make your videos. I really enjoy watching them and learning to use the ninja foodi. Thank you again!

      I can't remember which one I used in this video, but if it was the black thermometer, I ended up having issues with the battery not lasting. It's still in my Amazon store because it is inexpensive, but I kept having to change the batteries. Here is my affiliate link to that one: amzn.to/2Ye3Cmj In all fairness, I might have gotten it wet, too. My husband ended up buying me a more expensive one and it works great, but it's almost $100. It's a thermapen MK4 and works great: www.thermoworks.com?tw=THESALTEDPEPPER or the other one I use is both a probe and an instant read from pampered chef: www.pamperedchef.com/pws/thesaltedpepper/shop/Cooking+Tools/Timers%2C+Thermometers+%26+Scales/Instant-Read+Food+Thermometer/100121

    hi Louise. I like this but I have a couple of questions if you don't mind.'
    I'm not a fan of banana; could I use oranges instead? I think the praline topping would be good with that too.
    You always seem to use brown eggs; is there a difference from white eggs?
    I've never understood sifting flour but you have opened my eyes.
    It looks wonderful when finished. I know they say patience is a virtue but I totally understand wanting to skip it in certain situations, like cooking and baking. LOL

    • @TheSaltedPepper

      Good catch on that dripping! I think it was from me washing the black cover that goes over the base of the blender just before filming. I haven't noticed anything dripping from the blender seals themselves, but I will keep an eye out for that! I hope you love the praline!

    Can't wait to try this! Shame that we can't get that flower tin in the UK. Am I right in thinking that the max size round pan that would fit in the foodi is 8"? Trying to find some nice bundt tins but they all seem to be around 22cm rather than 20cm

      You can go larger than the 8", but be careful about the lip around the pan.

    Hi Louise - the banana bread recipe I have call for 375 F for an hour in the oven and it always come out good. . Doing the same on the Foodi got the top burned. Is it normal? I should have done the same either cover the top or lower the temperature down to 275

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  5 років тому

      It depends a lot on the pan you are using, but as a general rule of thumb, you do want to lower your temp at least 50 degrees. I went a lot lower on this because of the height of the batter and I needed to cook it longer to make sure the center was done. If it's a shallow pan, you can probably get away with 325F. If it's browning too much, just turn the heat down.

    Well.....I don't know what to say. I used a spring form pan. (Dark 7"). Followed the recipe exactly as written. 275 degrees for 25 minutes and my batter never got to a bread consistency. It was risen but still very wet. Placed it back for another 10 minutes at 300 degrees. Still wet. I don't know what went wrong

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  2 роки тому

      Did you look at the written recipe post? I go over my suggestions for changing the time/temp for different pans. The issue is the pan is completely different than the one I used. The springform pan is larger and doesn't have the center like this. The bundt style pans act like a heating core so the bread bakes from the outside in and from the middle out through the transfer of heat from the metal in the center. thesaltedpepper.com/homemade-banana-bread/#What_type_of_Pan_can_I_use_to_make_this_recipe
