This is just what I was looking for. I acquired a bag full of panels and having never made a baby book I didn’t understand the directions on the panel. Thanks to you, now I do!
Thank you for making this video. My friend and I were determined to make a soft book for our friend who is having a baby. Neither of us are avid sewers. We have very basic machines, supplies, and skills. Your helpful commentary telling us that if everything doesn't line up exactly that it is okay saved us a ton of time and frustration. Hopefully the little one will like it!
Thank you so much for the very clear instructions and hints on assembling these children books. You made it simple and perfectly clear. Keep posting, I will keep looking for your videos. Bless you!
Thank you so much! I am trying to figure out how to make a photo book for my baby grandson. I found "photo fabric" on which I can print photos but had no idea what to do after that! You've given me great confidence, thank you!!
Great video! Detailed explaining as you go along! Nice, close photography to show what you are exactly doing! Love the spine you made for the book. Will be making my first soft book for my new granddaughter and I believe you just helped me make it a success!
Thank you so much. I am trying to make a panel book for my new granddaughter. You are video was very thorough and helped me so much. Hopefully I can make many more after my first one.
I appreciate you showing us how to do a book. I just got my first Grandson 15 months ago and I’m just learning to sew. Thank you so very much! ❤️. I need to find out what a walking foot is and buy some batting and I’m ready to make a book for him at Easter.
thanks so much for the tutorial. It's always helpful to have the visual along with written directions. I thought it was weird that the directions didn't have you top stitch the pages after you turned it right side out. Thanks for suggesting that and the double seam on the book binding. I'm sure that will make it sturdier in little hands.
Am in the process of making a cloth book now. It is harder than I thought! Although each page was easy to do, putting the book together is more difficult. The instructions are not really clear, and it is a “lift the flap” book. So sewing the edges accurately is hard. The extra layers on each page make it really thick, and the presser foot skips stitches in those areas. ThNks for the tutorial.
Hi, the opposites book sounds great, maybe your turn to do a tutorial??!! The scarf is silk, and no, I didn't make it although I have done silk painting in the past and made stuff! I have made other childrens' books, activity books which are great fun to make and play with!
Lovely idea! Too bad we don't get those pre-printed panels here! :( It would be great to make something like this in to a quilt! A bedtime story on your bedding! :)
My daughter is making one of these for my son. Everything went well until it came to the sewing the finished pages into a book. My machine will not sew them! I tried using a different needle, change the tension, different stitches, nothing seems to work! Any tips or idea what I'm doing wrong?
Hello, Thank you for doing this video. It answered my question about how to straighten the panels. They always seem to be crooked. Can you tell me the best way to wash these books?
Hi Claire, This was a Great Tute! Have a question though. Saw you're using the grip-handle scissors that I wanted you to have (which is delightful to see) BUT how was this possible since you Published this Tute on Apr 28, 2013 and only got the scissors in 2015?? Have you always had those type scissors and all my efforts were in vain! You quit using them in later videos b/c you didn't like that type scissor or what's happening here! It's a puzzle to me and i'm really feeling stupid for thinking you needed those handle-grip scissors......
Susan, I just did an "Opposites" book for my new nephew to be! I'm thinking next time i'm going to quilt it in diamonds and bind the pages with a matching fabric! P.S. I love the scarf! is it batik? home made? Tutorial??
