Love your packing skills! It felt very satisfying watching you store everything so neatly and not cramming your belongings. Have fun on your trip girl! Can't wait to hear about it 💕
Nice, simple and organized! Minimalism has definitely taught me to pack a lot lighter these my recent past travels. I use to be an overpacker and most of the time didn't wear/use most of the stuff going into my luggage. Great video as always!
I'm bookmarking this video because I travel a lot and I carry a heavy suitcase and this video was ACTUALLY helpful and I'm going to refer to it again while packing next time. I noticed one big difference which was that ur clothes are very thin n light. I'm going to try this one and not carry heavy jeans, but mostly leggings and lighter bottom-wear. Also no heavy jackets, or may be just one jacket. This was very insightful, Thanks so much for this super helpful video! :)
yes if you have heavy clothes, wear them onto the plane! I always wear my heaviest jacket, pants, and shoes on the plane :) also good because planes get cold
FAQ - I'm in Europe w/o a computer so I can't add this to the description, but here are some quick answers to your questions. Where I'm going in Europe: Iceland (layover), London, Nice, Rome, Milan, Berlin How I style: check my Instagram for my outfits! @lavendaire Am I vlogging? yes! And also snapchatting the trip everyday: lavendaire Where I got my suitcase: Shilin Night Market in Taipei (no brand) Where I got my backpack: Harajuku in Japan (no brand) Where I got my Vermeer journal: Frick Museum in NYC when Girl w a Pearl Earring was showing (Listen to my podcast: "There is Magic & Serendipity in the world" for that full story hehe) What isn't shown is what I wore to the plane: an additional outfit of sweats + jacket + sneakers. So in total I brought 2 shoes, not 1. Any other questions, leave them below. ^_^ thanks guys!!
This video is so cool, I love it, thank you. I really love your minimalistic style in the videos and in general. You inspire me so much. I just love your content. Have fun in Europe!
How timely! About to pack for a holiday as well for 2 weeks and this vid inspired me to pack minimally instead of my usual ~pack my whole closet~ thank you!
This seems so easy but when I pack, I start to get more and more stuff "just in case"! Plus my clothes are bigger since they have more fabric (plus size) so in the end it's bulkier :/ I'm trying to get better though! :)
U could safely say I've seen every packing video on the net but yours is the only one that doesn't require Us to get packing cubes, it is well edited and extremely helpful. I fly to Thailand and India this winter and I will use this video to pack. Thanks so much😄 also what size Is your suitcase, I might have missed it in the video so could somebody please tell me!😁😁
haha :D glad to hear that! i'm not sure if there's a name for the size, but it fits within all international carry-on requirements (even for cheap budget european airlines)
I'm replying to this super late so I don't even know if it's relevant, but as far as I'm aware 18 inches is the carry-on size that will get you everywhere, 20 inches is the next one up that will get you into most airlines but some of the budget ones don't accept them at that size!
Who else wants to travel more in 2020? 😍 Plan your adventures for the new year early! Check out this workbook I made to help you plan all of your goals & intentions for 2020: lavendaire.com/workbook ✨
Great video! Unfortunately, the toiletry part will not work in France (departing/transferring). They are very strict and will go through and make sure it fits in a quart baggie.
I am so happy about the timing of this video. I'm leaving for just a WEEK in California in two days and I am struggling to make all my belongings fit, whereas you're making it happen for a much longer trip with the same amount of space. I completely forgot about the Konmari vertical folding method so I'll definitely be repacking tonight.
I loved this video when I first watched it but I'm going to watch it again when I pack for my 8-day trip tomorrow. And I feel like having only a carry-on is going to show me how far I've gone into minimalist journey haha
even the content of your videos and editing style is minimalistic in nature--you get right to the point! love it. perfectly done. Going to Europe this summer for two months and will be doing A LOT of traveling but will have access to washer and dryer, so I'll go by your video when I pack! thank you!
That was so satisfying to watch! Everything was so neat. I'm honestly amazed at your ability pack so light. When I travel, I literally think of everything I could ever possibly need and end up with multiple bags and overweight luggage😓. You and LightbyCoco are really inspiring me to pack light though! 😊 Thanks for this video and I hope you have an amazing time in Europe!
This looks simple and minimal, but the problem with this is when getting to security, you have to unzip and open the whole suitcase to take the toiletries out plus the makeup if it's liquid. Would be better to keep liquid toiletries and makeup in a separate bag and put them in the backpack.
The 100 ml containers MUST fit into a 1 litre clear bag. The Medium size ziplock bag. I use those but still had trouble because it's a bit larger than the official bag used by Canadian screeners. AND I am a NEXXUS traveler (TSA pre check equivalent). The States is quite relaxed but anywhere else you can find airports where they don't have the pre screened lanes or their airport bumps you out of the screened zone and you go back through regular screening where you have to show your clear quart or litre size bag with the 3 oz or 100 ml containers! I sidestep the whole problem by keeping my liquid allowance bag packed always. Ready to pop out as needed.
Hey Aileen I want to say a huge Thank YOU for everything!!! Your seminar has really helped me tremendously. I downloaded the wunderlist and my Productivity Levels has shot up to 1000 %. For years I have struggled with rising up early but last Thursday I woke up at 5:30am …I was in shock. I was always looking for something like that but I was never able to find it. I was so in love with a to-do list notebook but they stopped selling them so I had to convert to (to-list pads which are messy and run out quickly). The to-list apps I downloaded I wasn’t feeling them as well. Although now I use the GTD system called nozbe because I think it has a better organisation structure it’s still has helped improved my life dramatically. I do have anxiety and everything has stopped and I am able to sleep better. I do plan in the day and night and now I have no need for 4 sets of notebooks so I have more space. You are literally a blessing to me. Thank YOU SO MUCH you are such a WONDERFUL PERSON. Your videos always make me so happy! Love Sharon. P.S when you come to London let me know because I would like to see you.
I was this close to getting a packing cube set after watching a bunch of these packing videos but after watching this, I'm just going to fold my stuff konmarie style. We're hitting 6 different overnight destinations, and that's a lot of unpacking/repacking, and the last thing I want to do is dig though a compressed packing cube and then have to shove everything back in when we check out. Super easy to pick out outfits too!
I can't wait till start traveling !! I'm saving money up to go on lots of trips when I'm 21 ( i am almost 20 years old). Love to see how organized you are! Now I know I should only try to bring 1 suitcase lol
Im moving to Florence, Italy for 5 months and I am filming the ENTIRE experience, but I needed so Ideas on how to record my "How I pack my suitcase" video! This helped sooooo much!
omg I'm going to Europe for two weeks with just a carry on as well, and I was in desperate need of a video like this! Thank you so much! Have a safe trip, and lots of fun!
For my hongkong 3 weeks trip I packed 2 dresses (one on me), pair of shoes(second is on me), flip flop and swimsuit, 3 pairs of underware, one sketchbook, one journal with 1 fountain pen and a pen, a watercolor, a convertible bag, a purse, a raincoat (from pu, collaptable), hygiene items, one pencil for eyes, one for lips, one blush with a brush, one mascara, and a denim jacket, and one hat is on me. And one soap and several cream samples, and a deodorant. Several pills from headache and food poisoning. And a cotton dress to wear to bed. I still feel like I have too much. I have it all in my rucksag. The foldable bag I will use for my baggage if I buy something there.
Thank you! I was looking for this type of minimalist packing video as inspiration as I pare down my travel bag to a single duffel for my 1.5 weeks in Australia.
This was a really great video. Very stylish yet practical and totally do-able. I'd only suggest that the cap holding your bras be placed at the top closer to the handle so they are less likely to be crushed or lose shape.
When it is summer in Europe and hot, you needed more shirts as you sweat the whole day. If you will visit Churches, short is not advisable. I travelled like a minimalist in Italy last week. I ended up buying extra shirts and a dress because it was terribly warm.
This was lovely to watch :). But you will be forced to put all those toiletries in a bag the size of your hand and close it in front of security lol. I would prob say bring rain jacket for London lol. Pair of slip on plimsoles can work for every day . I over pack all the time :(.
You just brought one pair of white tennis shoes? Wow I'm thoroughly impressed with your minimal approach to travel. I wish I could be content with only a few things. Shoes are the hardest thing for me to compromise with. Would love a follow up video on how you style yourself in Europe!
Couple suggestions: pack scarves, socks, bathing suit into shoes. Cut down on liquid: use face cleanser cloths that you wet (Olay); use shampoo/conditioner combo; pack liquid make-up into contact lens containers. Choose a base colour and only pack clothing that goes with every other piece of clothing. Then you can go to Europe for a year with just a carry-on!!
Yes I was taken aback too. Will all she be doing is sightseeing? Isn't part of traveling to also live as the locals do? I remember once going to the Opera in Prague, and most of the guests were wearing fancy clothes, but then you had a few tourists wearing their scuffed trainers, and it felt a bit in poor taste.
Hi Aileen, you are such an inspiration and influence when it comes to minimalism for me. I was just wondering how packing light for a trip was as an experience for you. Did you have to do laundry to wash your clothes during your stay? Or do you wear tops twice without washing them?
You nailed it! Well done. There are too many videos confusing travelling tight with travelling light. You avoided lots of duplication - multiple bras and pants etc. Anybody travelling outside the USA should check airline carry-on allowance so they are not caught out. North American airlines are some of the most generous. Airlines are converging at 7kg (15lb). It's better to be safe than sorry! Travelling with less really sparks joy
This looks amazing!! And I really liked your narration style rather than talking while you packed. But what about soap, shampoo, conditioner, hair brush? Laundry detergent to wash your clothes since you're bringing a week's worth for 2 weeks? And guessing you must have lovely straight hair, but with thick, naturally frizzy/curly hair, no hotel dryer is going to work, plus I'd need a curling and or flat iron to keep it under control.
we stayed at airbnbs & my friend's place so all toiletries like that were provided! same with laundry detergent - our hosts had that covered :) And yeah I don't do much to my hair but bring your curling/flat iron if it's essential! our places always had a hair dryer too.
I love this video - you packed amazing! The carry on suitcase looks so nice and really good for organization - I definitely need to keep my eyes peeled for something similar around here!
most useful video i have found! amazing this is going to help me i'm flying to italie for 1 month this summer alone and this was verry useful thanx you
Hi Lavendaire. I am buying luggage for me and my girlfriend and I was hoping if you could tell me what brand luggage did you use for your Europe trip. Love the one in the video!
my problem with this is that if u are taking carry on on the plane itself most airlines wont let u take another bag (handbag) on the plane. i got caught out on this during a trip to tenerife x only just saying so others dont get caught out xx
I love the idea of packing everything into a Carry On bag but here's my question? How does all that come under the weight limit for carry on Luggage? Like I'm pretty sure the weight limit is only like 7kg for a lot of airlines, that looks like more than 7 kg?
Im literally leaving to Europe this week for a month! When i saw the title, i was like “No Way” 😂 Cause i was looking at “How to pack efficiently” and saw this. I thought that was cool
This is so, so helpful! I'm going to South Africa in a week and will definitely use this. Your videos are so calming and beautiful! (Also, you have the same name as my sister!)
Tried this on my last holiday trip to aussie and my luggage has nv been that neat before, during, and after. It makes you find your clothes faster without ruining the organization. Thumbs up!! Anyway I am thinking of purchasing the travel 6-in-1 pouch. Do you suggest to put the clothes (of course still vertically) in those pouches or straight to the luggage?
I'm from Europe (Germany) and I was interested what you would pack for your 'tour' there!😊 By the way, didn't you brought towels because the hotels have them?
How do you deal with the liquids rule from TSA if this is how your bags are packed? They count a lot of makeup as liquids and you're supposed to have them in their own bag. Do you keep a bag with you to put them in? Or do they just not check your bags very thoroughly?
Maybe I missed it but um I didn't see any pants!?!!? Maybe the weather forecast didn't require any, but I hate to be cold on the plane, do you wear pants to the airport or buy some when u travel?

Love these type of videos! And how simple and professional your vids look!
not bad. you should get one of those smart carry on with tech features. maybe do one with a smart travel backpack?
Lavendaire wow, the suitcase has no brand. But extremely cute.
Where did you record your morning pages?
How timely! About to pack for a holiday as well for 2 weeks and this vid inspired me to pack minimally instead of my usual ~pack my whole closet~ thank you!

England is the same. Quite strict.
@@knittingdoula usa also..
It won't work for any European/ international flights as far as I know.

Loved your presentation. Others seem to rattle on and repeat themselves. Amazed how little you pack, envious of being able to pull it off.

This was an awesome, down-to-earth packing video with real travel items (instead of some vloggers staged pack videos). Thanks for making it.
Thanks!
I love your color aesthetic! You have that minimalistic style but with edge and playfulness. Loovveeeeee 👌🏻
This looks simple and minimal, but the problem with this is when getting to security, you have to unzip and open the whole suitcase to take the toiletries out plus the makeup if it's liquid. Would be better to keep liquid toiletries and makeup in a separate bag and put them in the backpack.
I've never had them do that. the only thing they want you to take out is your laptop.
I've never had to do that during my trip in Europe. Only electronics.
This. I’ve always had to separate the liquids for inspection. The liquids usually have to be in a clear 1L bag too.
Bonjour Berlin, right. This is the only thing that's not realistic.
The 100 ml containers MUST fit into a 1 litre clear bag. The Medium size ziplock bag. I use those but still had trouble because it's a bit larger than the official bag used by Canadian screeners. Aw thank you 💕

One of the best organizing videos I have seen so far, good job!
This is so satisfying, I've watched it like three times haha!
^_^ i have a new packing video for my vancouver trip coming out next wed!
Lavendaire Yay! Looking forward to it!
I am really impressed, particularly that you are only bringing one extra pair of shoes!! There looked like there was room left too!!!
yes there was because I wanted to go shopping :)

What is the size of your carry on??
I can't even comprehend that! I carried a 30kg luggage around Europe with me to 20 countries! Kudos to you gal!!
i used to pack a ton too!! this is the first time traveling so light :)
omg I'm going to Europe for two weeks with just a carry on as well, and I was in desperate need of a video like this! Thank you so much! Have a safe trip, and lots of fun!

Affter I watching this video, I repacked my suitcase the way you do. then found how amazing it is.
This was lovely to watch :). But you will be forced to put all those toiletries in a bag the size of your hand and close it in front of security lol. I would prob say bring rain jacket for
London lol. Pair of slip on plimsoles can work for every day . I over pack all the time :(.
Your way of packing is soooo satisfying! ❤️
^_^
This was so satisfying to watch haha I'm watching your videos on my breaks from studying for exams!
I love how everything has a place in your suitcase! So neat and organized. Goals!
Nice. I liked the tip about the bras in the cap.
This is amazing! everytime i travel i feel like i pack so much and i never have enough space!
You just brought one pair of white tennis shoes? Wow I'm thoroughly impressed with your minimal approach to travel. I wish I could be content with only a few things. Shoes are the hardest thing for me to compromise with. Would love a follow up video on how you style yourself in Europe!
Yes but I wore another pair of sneakers to the plane! Didn't show my plane outfit but yeah
Also for how I style, check my Instagram: @lavendaire
Couple suggestions: pack scarves, socks, bathing suit into shoes. Cut down on liquid: use face cleanser cloths that you wet (Olay); use shampoo/conditioner combo; pack liquid make-up into contact lens containers. Choose a base colour and only pack clothing that goes with every other piece of clothing. Then you can go to Europe for a year with just a carry-on!!
If the only pair of shoes I'd need for two weeks in "Europe" was a tiny pair of Keds I wouldn't need to watch a packing tips video.
mary turula, Wear rainboots/other boots on your trip as your other pair of shoes.
Yes I was taken aback too. Will all she be doing is sightseeing? Isn't part of traveling to also live as the locals do? I remember once going to the Opera in Prague, and most of the guests were wearing fancy clothes, but then you had a few tourists wearing their scuffed trainers, and it felt a bit in poor taste.
what'd she wear as footwear when she went to the airport then? did she go barefoot?
GOOSSSHHHH YOU'RE GOING TO EUROPE. I usually don't really pack like this, but of it do this is a good idea to keep in mind.
Hi Aileen, you are such an inspiration and influence when it comes to minimalism for me.
I was just wondering how packing light for a trip was as an experience for you. Did you have to do laundry to wash your clothes during your stay? Or do you wear tops twice without washing them?
i did do laundry during the trip! we stayed in airbnbs where they had washers. but I also did wear clothes twice without washing them
This video helped me so much when I moved to Spain for 3 months this year :) Thank you!!
Thanks for that beautiful, simple editing.
this was such a satisfying video to watch
Im crying at the remix of September
You nailed it! Well done. There are too many videos confusing travelling tight
with travelling light.
I'd love to hear about your reflection on the packing after this trip. Did it work out? How did you decide on what to bring? Hope you had fun!
So inspiring! I should probably pack less "stuff" the next time I travel! I tell myself I will, but end up with a tad too much in my suitcase.
woot love the Earth Wind and Fire remix!!
Oh! Cute organized packing, I enjoyed watching it so much ✨ Have fun on your trip! 💗
I love this video - you packed amazing! The carry on suitcase looks so nice and really good for organization - I definitely need to keep my eyes peeled for something similar around here!
Hope your going to southern Europe. Here in the North it would be too cold for only shorts and dresses. .Have a great trip!
Whoa! Super helpful! I'm planning a trip to Europe in February. Thanks!
Thanks! I always pack too much and only wear a few things really. This looks so simple and stress free.
I would love to see you dragging your carry on luggage through cobblestone streets and what not...
Have an awesome trip! 💜
Your videos are the best I have ever seen
Love your channel so so much
How much did your carry on weigh? TAP airlines only allows 17lbs for a carry on
most useful video i have found! amazing this is going to help me i'm flying to italie for 1 month this summer alone and this was verry useful thanx you
Hi Lavendaire. I am buying luggage for me and my girlfriend and I was hoping if you could tell me what brand luggage did you use for your Europe trip. Love the one in the video!
Can you do a video about what makeup you took on your trip? Love the music in the video, I am big fan of Earth Wind and Fire!
Where is your suitcase from?
I like that suitcase. Can anyone tell me what it is?
Oh, I love-love every dingle video of yours!!! So calming down, so sweet and interesting! Thank you for doing a great job!! ))
my problem with this is that if u are taking carry on on the plane itself most airlines wont let u take another bag (handbag) on the plane. i got caught out on this during a trip to tenerife x only just saying so others dont get caught out xx
angela kneller I had the same experience with Berlin Air. Only a carry on and not even a mini shoulder bag for my meds, IDs and currency.
putting your bras in a cap is such a good idea! I will be doing that for my next trip
I was waiting for this video for ages 😭 i havent gone on holiday in years so this video will help 😊 thankssss so much
so simple and the best packing video 💜
This is the first time I see your channel ... and I loved you so much ❤❤
Your packing is so neat and tidy this video is AMAZING!
love your videos, love all the organization.
Loved it! You definitely packed smart!
The video was short, simple and upto the point 😎 superlike 🤘🤘
Loved the video, and perfect timing for me! I'm going away on a trip tomorrow, have fun on yours!
Enjoy your trip!
Safe and fun travels!
I recently did this but with my closet.. And after doing so, it oddly felt so satisfying 😂
I didnt catch how long will you be away... I pack double of that for a week or less...lol learning lot from you ! Thanks!
That was really pleasing to the eye
Could you do a video on what you carry with you everyday, I think you might have one of those from before, but not a recent one.
Your so organized and I like that, other youtubers that I watched are not
How do you pack a soft suitcase with the konmari method? Everybody that uses this method seems to have a hard shell suitcase....
Thank you so much, I was struggling with my suitcase but now everything fits
Damn.... the way you pack....O_O
It looked so simple and satisfying lol loved it!
I agree. Definitely want to know... Which suitcase is this?
I'm from Europe (Germany) and I was interested what you would pack for your 'tour' there!😊
By the way, didn't you brought towels because the hotels have them?
Can I get some tips I’m an eleven year old traveling to Florida with my mom dad older and younger sister any tips at all will help thank you
How do you deal with the liquids rule from TSA if this is how your bags are packed? They count a lot of makeup as liquids and you're supposed to have them in their own bag. Do you keep a bag with you to put them in? Or do they just not check your bags very thoroughly?
Maybe I missed it but um I didn't see any pants!?!!? Maybe the weather forecast didn't require any, but I hate to be cold on the plane, do you wear pants to the airport or buy some when u travel?
i wore sweats onto the plane! therefore, didn't pack them. lol i think people forget that you don't have to pack plane wear
