I asked the same question. There are only 4 available characters for story mode. Johnny cage is unlockable but only for vs. mode combat. All I can think is that the player is using some kind of moddable emulator or something. I did literally everything in story mode back when game was new and as far as I remember you can not play as Johnny cage in story mode. The only unlockable players for story mode is scorpion and sub-zero. So must be a cheat or modded play through.

U gotta watch their attacks n block n attack at the right time and make sure you have all of ur character moves so u can use them with combos against them

It's gotta be modded. I've seen other UA-camrs using different characters as well. In the original only Liu, Kung with Scorpion & Sub-Zero are playable.
Its actually where u can unlock a character in the game like if u beat the game in Co-OP, u unlock Scorpion and Sub-zero, if this was modded, then he would have all powers of Liu Kang or Kung Lao, whoever u play as
Not a mod. It's actually a code that allows you to play as other characters. A code that cannot be entered in the game using Action Replay Max or Codebreaker
