This is what I want to do! 1 Get out all the blown in fiberglass 2 air seal 3 add faced fiberglass batts between depth of ceiling joists (R13) 4 plywood cat walk over batts 5 secure wire runs out of the way in attic, add j boxes where necessary to extend wire lengths 6 add more unfaced batts (R36) perpendicular to first layer to get to R48 Very impractical to turn our attic into a finished space. Attic joists are 2x4 trusses pressed with gusset plates and not meant to support much weight. Roof pitch is shallow. But I do want to be able to crawl around up there comfortably to work on air handler, duct runs, and install bathroom exhausts.
Good luck with that it sounds like a pretty good plan!! I 😊 would always try to use OSB board. It's durable but also more resistant to temporary moisture.
