So enjoyable for which I thank you. I too am toying with the idea of taking my first trip off the Isle, possibly France or Spain. You are inspiring me to try it on my new Yamaha Tracer 9 GT.
@merson812, I’m exactly the same, I’ve just my new bike and I’d love to do this trip but a bit nervous to go on my own, this is really a good inspiration to go for it 👍👍👍👍
Looking forward to following your adventures in France. Brave on your own but I also want to do what you’re achieving. Be safe and keep the videos coming
Nice start to your inaugural blog - a nice mix of commentary and not too over the top music - you hit the right tone. I have toured most of the best biking routes / countries in Europe, both solo and with other like minded biker mates. You will not regret this experience- enjoy. 👌👏🇫🇷
The first time i ever rode in France, i loaded my bike with camping gear, hopped on a ferry and spent a week travelling and camping around france, different stop every night, no sat navs then, and just getting a feel for the country, on my own, i had the best time, loved every second and really got the touring bug, nowadays i travel accross europe and still love exploring, my favourite is switzerland accross to Austria and i use hotels nowadays as its so much more convienient ! so don't be nervous there are so many amazing and scenic places to visit and i hope you get the bug as i have ! i have only just discovered your channel so good luck and i look forward to watching your progress ! great 1st vid !
Just come back from a long weekend in France and Belgium. First time I have ridden a bike on the continent since 1977. (Although I normally take my motorhome to France in the summer). Thoroughly enjoyed it and I look forward to the next trip
Looove Cherbourg. I stayed in a real fleabag. I should have stayed in The Ambassadeur Hotel right at the docks. Excellent place. Stop by the flagship store for Parapluies de Cherbourg a few yards down from the Ambassadeur on the docks and grab the Mrs. a genuine parapluie de Cherbourg. Excellent shopping center across the way from l'Ambassadeur - Centre Commercial Les Eléis.
Thank you 😊 yes… there’s mounting of the GoPro was a bit challenging - especially positioning the mic so the cable wouldn’t be cut when you closed the front! 😊
Looks awesome…..trying to get my stuff together to ride my R1300RT to Lake Tahoe from Scottsdale, AZ. That means riding through Death Valley with 132F temperatures 🥴🥴. Great video 👍
Looks like an amazing trip!!!! I'll definitely follow along. Canadian here but looking to move....or at least spend 6 months of every year in Europe on my bike. Currently scoping for places to buy in either Italy, Spain or perhaps Portugal. Cheers!!!
I came to biking later in life, well apart when I had a moped back in 76, just got myself an Adventure bike and getting it kitted up for a France tour next year, haven’t got the confidence to do it on my own though, so I will be following you on your journey and hopefully picking up some tips
Hi, lovely first road trip. I've just purchased a BMW 1250 RT after 35 years of Harley Davidson as I want to do more touring. I'm starting to plan my first over seas tour and very nervous!! Where are you based?
Sorry to be a killjoy, but you shouldn't be without gloves riding in France it's illegal, particularly as you were in a town, where police often are having their coffee lol But good video and enjoy the ride. It's been three years since I travelled your ferry route, brought back so many good memories thanks.
Good to see you have a good helmet . I had a very bad accident in 1979 I won’t give you details because it not good but please, please buy an air vest? , and good armer ? Knox are the best , I have there gloves which have there slider’s on which stops you breaking your wrist if you come off and put your hands down? Also don’t buy these fashion style boots to ride in they look nice but protection they are hopeless, there are two brands which are brilliant Sidi and Daytona. A lot of the time motorcycle riders hurt there legs in collisions so buy waterproof gortex trousers with built in armour for thighs, hips and carfs ? I know this sounds crazy but this is what I where , believe me it’s needed . It’s not your riding it’s those big metal things pulling out on you , also have your headlight on and spots all the time ? Sorry I just care about motorcyclists safety 👍🏍🤗
WOW… What an awesome post! Thanks so so much! ❤️ I confess I don’t know what an “Air Vest” is, but I’ll Google it now! Thank you. I also do need to get a new jacket AND gloves… my existing ones have had it. I genuinely appreciate your kind recommendations, thank you again 😃
@@laterrider if you buy Knox mesh armer it’s also good for summer as you can where it on its Owen then a good base layer is Mario wool , you can where it for days without washing it lol then as the cold weather sets in you can where the base layer , your Knox armer then if needed a down inner jacket or what you prefer and then a motorcycle gortex jacket without the need for armer . Oh I forgot to say only have gortex full laminated jacket not drop down Gortex as it wets out and you would become cold. And of course there is now heated gear which I herd is very good but I don’t have any yet. Oh have a look at motoledgens videos on gear very good?
Thanks to your last post I’ve just spent the past two hours in a bike clothing shop 😂 I get the impression you know a lot about this subject and following on from your suggestion I’m not considering an air vest… however… would you normally wear a FULL riding jacket with FULL D30 armour underneath an air vest? The guy in the shop couldn’t answer that. I’m guessing the answer is… the more (armour) the better?
Whilst here in the UK, people are OK with being human crayons. Causing unnecessary grief at A&E, helping to run down the NHS; something apparently we're ok with.
Hi gotta say a pretty good first vlog, well done! Tell me is this you first motorcycle trip abroad? I have a BMWF750 GS. I would quite like to go see the D-Day landing sites myself for my own part. I’ve never ridden abroad. How harrowing was the experience of riding on the wrong side of the road as it were!?? Phil

Leaving to do a similar trip on Sunday. Loved your series. Can I ask how you got on with the chin mount for GoPro on a flip lid?
Thank you 😊 yes… there’s mounting of the GoPro was a bit challenging - especially positioning the mic so the cable wouldn’t be cut when you closed the front! 😊

Great helmet. I was knocked off my bike in that exact same one. It performed fantastically. Highly recommended.
I’m sorry to hear you got knocked off, but good to hear the helmet saved you 😃

It is easy really isn't it this European adventuring. Keep a smily face be nice and it will all unfold before you.
👍
now youve tasted european motorcycling it will show you how 2nd rate UK is
Well… I’m not sure about that… I personally think there are some very beautiful parts to the UK (and I agree some NOT so beautiful parts) 😊
It is a legal requirement to wear CE approved gloves whilst riding in France.
