Really enjoying your channel ! I am 54 and have been riding for over 30 years and have ridden all sorts of bikes in that time. I bought a GS this year and have been thoroughly converted. I am sure you won’t be deterred by the haters, as you’ve chosen a great bike, and the perfect tool for the job. Your commentary is spot on and your filming and editing is also amazing !!! You’ve got a new subscriber and one who wants to see more.
My wife and I went to Mont St Michel in May this year on my Ducati Monster! So busy, so many steps and we left pretty sharpish. Got myself a 2019 R1250GS now, so much more comfortable and can't wait to get back to France, the roads and drivers are so much better than in England!
Personally, i always check the hotel has some private parking, or the area is very quiet such as in a small village. You might be a long way from home and find someone has damaged the bike, even accidentally dropping it while sitting on it. Google street view is your friend for checking out the area. I agree with a previous poster, if you have room for a thin bike cover, they're worth using.
My plan is to go to the landing beaches of D-Day June 24 and make that the goal of a trip through France. I appreciate your videos since we are about the same generation. I am 57. That makes a huge difference for me. You will soon gather your crowd of well-aged adventurers on your channel.
Really enjoying your trip, I use a clothes peg for storing car park tickets, toll tickets etc, and is useful for reminding me to ride on the right, I recommend the Biketrac system for peace of mind at night, that and a cover.
Stayed in Blois and Amboise - 22 miles / 36 km between the two. Riding along the River Loire is wonderful- so many scenic places to see this part of France. Nice commentary again 👌
I must say, if this is your first time out vlogging you´re a natural - I´ve seen far more experienced vloggers make far less interesting videos. Spot on my friend. Greetings from Denmark.
Really fun video's :) funny to see you having the same struggles as mee as a beginner biker-traveler. Finding a parking spot in a busy street, struggling with the tickets in the "payage" gates. (You have time enough though to put your ticket away when you are standing in front of the gate that opens, it won't shut before you passed it)
Love your pronounciation. Bl + wah = Blois. But it is not important just keep on enjoying your trips. Been there done that. Bonne jorunee.Sorry no accents QWERTY keyboard in France.

It’s certainly a beautiful part of the world 😃
"oooh look at the lights on the back of that truck" - your stream of consciousness is just what I would be thinking Tony! I love it

I like the phrase of “Well Aged”… I’m going to use that from now on! 😂

“Clothes peg”… brilliant idea! 😃

@@laterrider You are more than welcome! Come to Norway when you can, lots of good riding here! See you in the next one!
Ahh, Norway… we have been there on our motorhome. It was BY FAR the most beautiful country we’ve ever been to! 😃
@@mattdrat3087 Is it as expensive as some people say I am in N.I. We ride a r1250 tb .
@@laterrider It's even nicer on a bike (if the weather is ok)!

😃
Did you have any security issues with your bike while away? I would at least want some sort of motion alarm on my bike. 😱
Actually I bought a really good lock before I went away and so in all honesty I wasn’t too worried
It is a real fitness test Mont st Michel.
It really is
steady tony going a bit fast
Are you referring to my walk up those never ending steps? 😃
@@laterrider no I ment could see your speed on your bike
probably in KPH not MPH..@@andrewheaton6816
Yes indeedy 😃
Hi just noticed - are you using the BMW nav set up or phone -seeing you have both ?
Unfortunately my Navigator 6 died on me 😕
Next time take a bike cover with you. Covering up a bike parked on the street is recognised as a good extra security measure.
Very good point 🤔
