All payment gateways are required by the law to record every single identifying information about you for any purchase and most of them use some sort of authentication method before completing the purchase. Otherwise, hackers can steal so much by getting the card info only. Even the most complex hackers who have good OPSEC end up in jail. I'm pretty sure adapter is not that smart.
