i’ve been following the channel since i was in 8th grade pre algebra class. now i’m 21 and a full time mechanic. juicebox has shaped my love for cars and pushed me to follow my dreams of becoming as deeply involved with the automotive community as i possibly can be. thank you
This might be a long one….. I’m a few years older than yourself but oddly the car community in Ireland has connected us in a strange way. I’m originally from Cork but now I live outside Seattle. In the early 2000’s I used to be part of a small group of friends who would organize the bulk of the cruises around Cork city ( think cruiseirl, racershaven etc. ) One night my friend Peden Nielsen asked if I wanted to head to Waterford for a few rings mid week. Three of us packed into a car and drove east for a while in the lashing rain. We got into Waterford and met up with Buttsy, Joe Coady and Davey for what was my first ever passenger spin in an 86 and my first time in a car drifting. To see two of those lads in your videos on occasion really brings back some of the best memories of my life. I subsequently bought a panda Levin that broke my heart and I sold it to a neighbor named Joe who turned it into likely one of the nicest pandas in Ireland. I fucked around with a rotten levin after that and quickly broke it for parts and lastly I had a pearl white, N2 arched levin on XR4’s that I ended up selling in 2014 (maybe the biggest regret of my life). To have a connection to my past and some of the most formative years of my life is amazing and every time I watch a video it brings me closer to home. I likely won’t be able to afford an 86 ever again, but I can live vicariously through you and your journey of misery. Best of luck and I can’t wait to see what you do.
with the death of hoonigan (rip) you are in a unique situation to fill the vacuum of that. you have a brand, and merch, and already do a lot of what they did: fucking around with your mates on a skid pad. also never underestimate the power of asking manufacturers for sponsors. sometimes all it takes it just asking. nothing but love here man. i really hope your dreams are realized and the channel takes off.
I remember i had made my communion when i saw that 86 in the overgrowth, the years have passed along as they do and now that im hitting 65 years old i can soon retire happy in the knowledge I'll see the 86 back on Irish roads again soon 🧓🏻 seriously though fair play going fulltime, keep doing your own thing and success will follow!
Neil, I’m sure I speak for most people when I say we are here for you and the lads while the 86 has been this central force/focus in the channel you and the lads passion for this stuff makes the content super authentic and real. So much automotive content isn’t about the car or car culture it’s about the “brand” or the bs they try and sell. “Clout car build in 15 minutes” “here is the 15,000$ part haul we bought on eBay or got free from our sponsors” I see so many people just buy a Supra or a type r because it gets them a million clicks. They couldn’t care less about it or actually enjoy the car. I think one of your best videos so far was the 86 history / production #’s video it really shows how much you enjoy and appreciate the car for the car and not the clout.
Neil i've been watching the 86 builds since Numero uno, I remember sharing it with all my mates who had any interest in cars because you lot at the shed were the most entertaining bunch on the planet to me! I love your passion for cars n the Irish and international scene, but the videos of you n the boys in the shed will remain to me the most valued aspects of your content. So if the 86 stuff will be coming to a close then please still film in the shed/get another bush find!! I think the stats show the type of content mixed with the consistency with the pre-pandemic 86 backlog was the best vids that you've ever made. As much as I love the build showcases and whatnot but the heart throbs in the masses for those types of clips!! Hoping this leap will let you get a footing with consistency and routine allowing you jump back into peoples feeds n see the return you want from this man :D (P.S one thing that always ever caused disruption in the garage vids was the audio, if you're gonna be doing the shed stuff with more vigor now you're full timing it, definitely say to mic everyone up or have some sort of audio set up that allows you to fiddle with voices>tools sounds etc as this imbalance made it hard to watch stuff on mobile because you cant hear to banter!)
What I’ve loved about this channel is ,it’s not like the other channels cause I can see the real struggle and friends, helping friends get to where you are beautiful thing about this channel! That can’t be faked ,with that being said put it on “DRIVE” and go for it !!! The first video of the AE86 is what brought me here, and what have been keeping me here since is the in depth, the reality of restoring a car with limited money, the humour, and the fantastic story telling skills with great videography. I saw a glimpse of you guys in my hometown when you were in Sweden for the ice drifting. This channel and everything you film just seem very real. Something I absolutely love is the videos of you checking out some car guys garage or warehouse with their personal cars, projects and items they've been collecting through time. I'll look forward to whatever future project that is waiting!

Alright so I have watched till the end and it kept me wondering why I love this channel so much. Well I'll tell you a couple things that are in mind. Honestly content is based upon the things that the creator presents but i think most of us are here because of you and what you do kind of resonates with all the people around the world and that is truly special to feel over the internet. Moreover, the passion for cars that you go to in depth with the history of the vehicle, the parts, the story its always amazing to hear that because I always thought that I was the nerdy one and who knew about all this stuff but you always bring something mind boggling to each video. Cool to hear how you got into cars, not too dissimilar to me. I've still got boxes of old Hot Wheels cars up the loft, along with stacks of magazines. Underground 2 was the game that got me hooked on Japanese cars. Love all the Juicebox content but the adventures abroad, especially Japan, have been a real highlight. That series was incredible!

I love all the content, especially the tedious misery detail work like literally years of welding and spraying (everything else has been pretty quick) It's great to get that inside view going through the car finding all the ugly bits, then having them fixed by top level gurus. Honestly you give off such a genuine guy vibe! Watched for absolutely years, still watching and that shows you're doing something right! Things I like are the usual nonsense at the shed as takes me back to when me and all my mates had a shed. Going and just documenting people's build/cars is a nice mix also and gives people the chance to show off their pride and joy but again has to be worthy and not each week in my eyes! Tha's cool news Neil, I've been following Juicebox since forever, for dare I say 10 years maybe? I typed something like "Initial d ae86" or "r32 tuning" into google images and one picture that came up was so much nicer than the others, nice lighting, shallow focus, and a touch of grain. I clicked through the whole page and I never stopped since. I think you already understand what makes this channel, it's the fact that it's not UA-camr-y, it's not a "content creator" (How I hate that word) channel. The best thing you can do is keep making videos that feel like they aren't made in order for people to watch them, they are just tossed out into the universe and those who get a kick out of it will find them. Basically, what I'm saying is don't overthink or plan and don't change anything which I guess is actually harder than it sounds. Speaking of merch, we once wrote on Instagram if i could design something and nothing came of it, but the next time you release something hit me up, or I'll hit you up sometime before that, I'd love to be a part of the journey
I can no longer recall when I first found yous, but it was well before the 86 for sure. But I think the 86 project is something I've always been keen to see as soon as they come out. And I'm still keen. Some may complain it's taken 7 years, I say you have possibly the most well documented restoration project on youtube, maybe of any car. I'm sure you've shown us so many details we'd never even think of when it comes to taking on a proper nugget project, and I'm equally sure it's inspired countless to take on their own projects! Juicebox is one, if the not the best car channel on UA-cam. Just a genuine group of people who aren't trying to be anything more than themselves. The recording of the incremental progress of projects that gets interrupted is also nice to see, not because I don't want to see the build finished, but because that's how life is. Honestly content is based upon the things that the creator presents but i think most of us are here because of you and what you do kind of resonates with all the people around the world and that is truly special to feel over the internet. Cool to hear how you got into cars, not too dissimilar to me. I've still got boxes of old Hot Wheels cars up the loft, along with stacks of magazines. Underground 2 was the game that got me hooked on Japanese cars. Love all the Juicebox content but the adventures abroad, especially Japan, have been a real highlight. That series was incredible!

Tha's cool news Neil, I've been following Juicebox since forever, for dare I say 10 years maybe? I typed something like "Initial d ae86" or "r32 tuning" into google images and one picture that came up was so much nicer than the others, nice lighting, shallow focus, and a touch of grain. I clicked through the whole page and I never stopped since. I think you already understand what makes this channel, it's the fact that it's not UA-camr-y, it's not a "content creator" (How I hate that word) channel. The best thing you can do is keep making videos that feel like they aren't made in order for people to watch them, they are just tossed out into the universe and those who get a kick out of it will find them. Basically, what I'm saying is don't overthink or plan and don't change anything which I guess is actually harder than it sounds. Speaking of merch, we once wrote on Instagram if i could design something and nothing came of it, but the next time you release something hit me up, or I'll hit you up sometime before that, I'd love to be a part of the journey
I can no longer recall when I first found yous, but it was well before the 86 for sure.
But I think the 86 project is something I've always been keen to see as soon as they come out. And I'm still keen.
Some may complain it's taken 7 years, I say you have possibly the most well documented restoration project on youtube, maybe of any car.
I'm sure you've shown us so many details we'd never even think of when it comes to taking on a proper nugget project, and I'm equally sure it's inspired countless to take on their own projects!

Juicebox is one, if the not the best car channel on UA-cam. Just a genuine group of people who aren't trying to be anything more than themselves. The recording of the incremental progress of projects that gets interrupted is also nice to see, not because I don't want to see the build finished, but because that's how life is.
