I'd consider moving the kitchen dresser up to the left and put a nice sitting chair by the back window where the kitchen dresser currently is. That would make a lovely cozy place to sit. I was thinking similar thing, i think the dresser would be nicer if it was centered and not in one of corners, you could still have the highchair on the left like it is now and move it closer to the table when needed 😊
I have depression and two physical illnesses that would possibly stop me from doing and end of tenancy clean but I would make sure I had the money put by to get a company in to clean the house if I moved out, no excuse 😳 The house is beautiful and I can’t wait to see what you do with it. I love that sideboard and the weeding tool is something I need in my life 😀 I had to laugh when your cat walked on the wet floor, mine can be fast asleep and not have moved for several hours but if I mop a floor they instantly wake up and walk all over it 😀

We moved into our 'new build' 4 years ago, as the second owners. We have slowly brought a cottage style in and have loved developing it slowly, a similar style to yours. I'm sure you will make your home cosy very quickly, and transformed into your style in time. Enjoy the process x

Having a virtually untouched garden can be a real boon! Many years ago I got the idea from gardener Bunny Guiness to make a path round the outside of a good-sized garden like you have - not only easier for you to get at the fences for maintenance but that energetic little boy will soon want to ride his cars, trike, scooter, bike and having a „track“ round the outside keeps things under control and you can make your actual garden with grass and flowers etc. inside those parameters - it doesn‘t need to be a very wide path. I think in the original plan there was a row of rose arches to make a tunnel over part of the path, too… Also good for people with dogs who need to stretch their legs or get zoomies 😂

Oh I love your personality and the slow down mindset! So impressed of your hand sewing! I saw the tour of your new home and was surprised about how messy the seller left it! In Sweden where I live it is the seller who is responsible for hiring someone to clean or doing the cleaning themself before the new owner moves in. It is called moving cleaning there need to clean every little inch of the home. Hi, I know you had a lot of cleaning to do, but the quality of the fittings etc, look really good 👍. I live in Spain, when you buy a property here quite often they remove the light fittings and kitchen units. You have to make sure that what you want needs to be included. I think you’ve got a lovely family home. Xx 😘

The house is really coming along. I called Echo 35:42 when he was on the table. He was surveying his kingdom. And you made me laugh about being 30. I just turned 60 two days ago. Everyone is different. You like homemaking and the things that go along with it. I have been on vacation this week. Home is my happy place. If I could, I would not work outside of it. Lovely video. ❤

Was fascinated to see Dom building your new Ikea round dining table...same as mine! 😂 Wanted to share a great tip I picked up from Emily Norris: invest in heavy duty tempered glass cover for the table! So easy to keep clean while protecting your table top. And as your babe grows up, you'll find the glass table top so easy to keep clean - food, paints, crayons, felts, etc. I think mine cost in the region of £250 - best money we spent in 2022!!!

Loved you bringing us along for more settling into the house! I've learned a lot in the way of sewing from Bernadette Banner, too! When we moved into our house a few years ago, it was pretty clean but I cleaned it anyway. It just felt more like "my home" when I did the cleaning myself!😊 And I made curtains for all the windows and took down the dirty blinds. What a difference! I think painting the kitchen cabinets would look very nice, and adding new handles/hardware. I'm so happy for you and know you will add much new character to this home. Frankly, those stairs in the other place scared me after you had your little boy!😮

The curtains are a good choice. That s the sort of curtains we still use in Portugal, in order to keep your privacy and still allow the sun to come in.❤

i like country modern minimal style and we live in a 1960ts bungalow which is a great size but needed lots of things changing we have done some of the rooms but its ongoing like your house will be it does take time to get what you really want x

I have downsized, and there is very little storage space! 😲😩 so consequently my daughter and I are still unpacking, and trying to find a space to put everything. I have a cupboard (quite a tall one) in the corner of my little sitting room, and I have the tv on top of it - it is on my far wall - and my sofa is on the other far wall, and I find it is just perfect for watching the tv, and the screen does not seem to take over the room at all, as it is high up. Love your sideboard, and as you said, that was a real bargain, and adds the character to the room that you are after. xxx

Hey Kay for the garden re: trees, look into tree like shrubs like Robina (Red Robin) - we have 2 and gorgeous changing colour all year around. Great height and awesome for privacy. We also have Salix (Flamingo) trees which are light and airy but provide lovely gentle privacy and look stunning all year around. If you can only have a few trees, it's worth getting ones that are more evergreen as they look great all year! Also great are Laurel as it provides awesome coverage and privacy as well. You can plant some stuff now while it's still autumn if you know where etc. Start with trees and big shrubs first which will anchor the garden and go from there. Enjoy! You have a great space!

i like country modern minimal style and we live in a 1960ts bungalow which is a great size but needed lots of things changing we have done some of the rooms but its ongoing like your house will be it does take time to get what you really want x

Your house is looking beautiful!! I moved into a bungalow, and it was just over a year ago, and you look so much more organised than me. I have downsized, and there is very little storage space! 😲😩 so consequently my daughter and I are still unpacking, and trying to find a space to put everything. So believe me, you have done brilliant,,, and you have two cats, and young baby. Good for you getting through what you have. Big hugs to you, I am so happy for you both. ❤❤

I have a cupboard (quite a tall one) in the corner of my little sitting room, and I have the tv on top of it - it is on my far wall - and my sofa is on the other far wall, and I find it is just perfect for watching the tv, and the screen does not seem to take over the room at all, as it is high up. Love your sideboard, and as you said, that was a real bargain, and adds the character to the room that you are after. xxx

Hey Kay for the garden re: trees, look into tree like shrubs like Robina (Red Robin) - we have 2 and gorgeous changing colour all year around. Great height and awesome for privacy. We also have Salix (Flamingo) trees which are light and airy but provide lovely gentle privacy and look stunning all year around. If you can only have a few trees, it's worth getting ones that are more evergreen as they look great all year! Also great are Laurel as it provides awesome coverage and privacy as well. You can plant some stuff now while it's still autumn if you know where etc. Start with trees and big shrubs first which will anchor the garden and go from there. Enjoy! You have a great space!
