The playing didn't really give me a Dimebag feel. This just kind of felt like a bag of Dimebag tricks tossed in a blender. It was a cool solo, I'm not hating. Dime played deep in the pocket.
If I’m being honest as a big fan of Marty Friedman and a bigger fan of Dimebag Darrell, this needs some work. Dime could have totally captured the sheer perfection of this solo like Marty did because despite all the whammy bar and shred he could play with so much emotion and I think this solo is missing that. Still amazing work

A few touchups here and there and this will be golden :) Keep up the work, do not get discouraged!!!!!!! Section on 0:15 is spot on how I imagine it could sound like!
Man quit fuckin arguing who was the bigger legend between dime and Marty. They're both legends. That is not the goal of a video like this. Dime WAS almost in Megadeth, The reason he wasn't is because Dave wouldn't take Vinnie Paul. So obviously Dime was in the same league as Marty. Another thing that muddys these waters is that most people only know dimes solos off of Cowboys from Hell and onwards. Go back and listen to his solos on albums like Metal magic, He's a lot closer in style to someone like Randy rhoads with the crazy fast technical melodic shredding. By the time he was doing stuff on Cowboys From Hell his style had simplified a LOT but remained extremely shreddy and bluesy.
Dime was actually offered to join megadeth but declined as Dave wanted to use the drummer they recently had hired and Dime wouldn't do it if vinny wasn't the drummer. This was all confirmed in an Interview Dave did.
The tone on the solo sounds soo similar to dime its crazy, I dont get why so many people out here saying this doesnt sound like him I mean we dont hear dime play in this key and use a lot of vocal phrases like marty does, I dont think you could do a cover of marty friedman playing walk and have it sound similar to dime’s solo, just my opinion
You talk like people playing only Tornado Of Souls in their life are good at guitar lol Being a decent guitar player isnt just copying Tabs, just so you know.
@@MetalGodOfLegend your right and wrong. copying tabs is good for just learning how to play and i would say your better than decent if you can shred. tabs or not
Dimebag is considered the best metal guitarist of all time, and was a master of both rythm and lead guitar playing. Marty is a beast and better than dime in terms of music theory, but in my opinion dime has been way more influential in metal and has better groove than marty.

Nicely done. The runway sliding was totally Dime.
I really expected there to be 90 dime squeals in this video since that's what he's known for haha
Dime actually very nearly joined Megadeth before they settled with Marty, so that actually could’ve been what we’d have got for real at one point

Dimebag could never touch Marty…. Marty is infinitely better in every way
