- Join us for the second traditional hunting arrow build test featuring the 3Rivers Archery Traditional Only Barebow Arrows in a head to head bare shaft test!
Jeff,
To me it appeared both arrows were tail left in flight before impact which would be weak.
Also, it’s important to make sure the arrow is seated against the bow shelf each shot as that would give false readings.
Your videos are awesome!
Keep up the great work (or fun)!
Been working on different arrows past week ! And u sent this out perfect timeing it worked GREAT!! GOT TO WORK ON MY SHOOT LEFT HAND 40# I KEEP HITTING LEFT AND LOW 4" SAME SPOT AT 20 YARD! NEED SOME ADVICE! THREE FINGERS UNDER ALSO THANKS👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
Kind of fun to watch and I've had similar results using the factory inserts with both of these. In my experience, nock tuning for hunting is a must with both of these arrows.
Try doing this same experiment with different inserts. For instance, the Ethics outserts on the Barebow shafts changed the arrow spine a lot for me compared to the factory half-outs. It's a fun little comparison to get the arrows in the weight range you want to achieve. I had similar changes (not as drastic) with 100 gr brass inserts in the Trad Only's.
Jeff this series of videos may just be your best yet!
Thank you sir!
Once again another great video. You are truly blessed and god is definitely with you keep up the amazing work
Love the arrow test series 👌 Great stuff God bless
Thanks brother glad you’re enjoying them!
I’m trying to use a 25 pound recurve, I’ve got a shorter 25 inch draw length, but for some reason sometimes I’m perfectly accurate, take a 20 min break, and can’t hit anything, I’m talking hitting a bullseye at 20 yards, then after the break the arrows are going half a foot under! I don’t get it
Awesome video Jeff love it
Love your information brother keep it up 🦌🏹🦌
Good videos Jeff
Does each arrow need to be individually nock tuned after bare shaft tuning?
Thanks again for the great videos Jeff!
It greatly depends on the arrows, I’ve had several that didn’t need it and some that did especially Easton Legacy.
Great science!!! Now do the test with fingers? I shoot different bows from 44-46 pounds at my 29 inch draw. I use black eagle outlaw 500 spine 31 1/4 total arrow length and 200 grains up front l, works for me and pass through shots on deer!!!! 448 grains total weight of the arrow..
Hey Jeff, here is Jörg with a new question. : spine calc. Shows me for a LBow 40# 28.5" pull, arrow length 30" Only a 77 grain point for a 600er carbon arrow. Whats your opinion about such light non hunting arrows? Best regards
Hello Jeff, I am trying out some Easton Autumn Orange 2016s for my bow as a heavier hunting set up, is there a trick to getting these nocks out so I can put in Luminoks? they won't budge and I don't want to chance breaking one.
I’ve used the lumenok signature “S” on my uni bushing 2117’s
They’re just really tight.
on these arrows , the inserts were too light, I am having a problem looking for the right inserts for these Autumn Orange arrows, I looked on 3 rivers but all the different types are confusing.
Thank you for all the great content! How can I get in contact with you in private?
when you say a 250gr point is that including a standard alum insert?
With the Barebow arrows I used the 25 grain factory aluminum outserts and 225 grain field tips, the first arrows were the Traditional Only regular carbon standard shafts and I used a 250 grain field point with the factory inserts which ranged from 8-10 grains 👍🏻
What about if you use a rest that has no burger button?
It’s pretty much the same as shooting off the shelf.
Hello Jeff, could u help me with arrow spine please? Im torn between 600 and 700 spine for my bodnik Mohawk hybrid 35@28 with my 28,5 draw lenght. Im in Europe so I can't load arrows heavy up front and also I dont want to as It is 3D setup. Also i would like to keep them short 29-30 inches. Greetings
I’d definitely go with 700’s👍🏻
@@instinctiveaddictionarcher8998 Thanks Jeff, i did order these gold tip warriors, my only concern is they gonna make only 8.0 gpp at this setup. Will it be safe for modern recurve like Bodnik?
@@emilskowronski5296 you will want to run some point weight on them, depending on the bow poundage you need at least 10 grains per pound which usually means around 200 grains of point weight but they are great shooting arrows!
The nock tune is frustrating. Basically you would have to test each arrow to get the tune..
I totally agree with you and with some arrows yes but not most and it really is a quick process and one I usually only do with broadheads.
Watched the last video and this one. I love the concept and what your are trying to show. I think at the angle you’re shooting you’re not able to see the kicks. Several that you said were perfect or slightly weak we’re severely kicking.
I would love to see you do some over the shoulder show mo shots so we can actually see the difference. The results I’m seeing are misleading, but I also don’t blame you because it’s hard to see without slow mo.
For example just using an iPhone:

Hello from Madison, keep up the great work.
How many yards are you????
15 yards
Jeff last couple of videos have been great. Have you seen the idea of bend testing arrows to determine the best nock postion. Thought you may find it interesting. Would love to hear your thoughts on it compared to nock tuning.
Heres a link to a video where it is explained.>>>>>ua-cam.com/video/z9_-_dW6D90/v-deo.htmlsi=3Np50M7t6GrpTn3k
