Thank you!! Some how I have turned on the door lock test mode twice. I do it when I decide to cancel my current load settings and chose another. I think holding the start button to cancel for too long sets it to diagnose. Every time I push start it locks and unlocks but that's it. Holding the start button again to get out of the trouble shooting mode is all it takes to fix. Thank you!!
best video in the internet on how to understand the diagnostic mode. i finally understood how to test each function individually . i noticed when testing the spin cycle the lid lock light flashes, is this a error message telling me the motor has issues or is this blatently telling me lid lock is no good? i just put a new lid lock in last night
I've had issues with installing new lid locks and sometimes the old ones aren't bad just not making good connection. Unplug the unit and wait about 3 minutes for any capacitors to discharge. Unplug the lid lock from the control board and from the front of the machine you need to take a pick or small screw driver and bend the terminals inside the plug on the control board very slightly to the right. Once you plug it back in your lid lock should have made a good connection with the plug and should work normally. I have seen this issue more than I care to remember! Thanks for watching!
Chip, another great repair video. I agree with you that for a basic washer these GE machines are better than the Whirlpools. The biggest problem I've seen on the GE machines, and I don't see it often, is when the tub seal fails and the water leak ruins the gear case bearings.
Love this so much ❤. The fact that you let animals come hang out ❤. Any idea on a whirlpool standard model That shakes in spin ? Have a shock absorber video❤?
If its an old style direct drive Whirlpool (where you pull the knob out to start it) then check the stabilizer spring at back left side of tub. If a newer model where you have a large knob over six LED lights then its probably the suspension rods or a worn out tub hub. Hey chip, are the GE commercial washers worthwhile, or are they the same as the standard GE shown in this video? I heard they have a very similar design.
I couldn’t say. I really haven’t seen any GE commercial washers of the newest models but I’d suspect they are similar to the Maytag’s in this regard. Same design but tougher components! Thanks for watching!
