You need to be very lucky on using Spirit Dew if you want to unlock the full potential of Antasha, she needs more STARS in her STATS. And yes, no pet can defeat the Fire Lord.

Pet’s are still strong but not OP like they are now. Firelord is still good but not OP anymore. Pet’s die easier as they have limited scalability unlike player’s gears. I would recommend to focus on your character and not Pets.

samurai is trigger dependent
while antasha is stats star dependent.

If pet were not strong, there would not have been so much complains about “Petnarok”. Cards, refinements, feathers, statue and pets all play a role.

I use Wind Spirit for my smith. But some use Milly or Tank pet

Pet’s effectiveness are job dependent. You can disregard my findings if you don’t agree.

As a general rule, AOE dps will not be as high as single attack dps. Otherwise, it would be overpowered.
