Tbh, Leclerc left too much space for him on the inside. If we see Oscar's defense once he was ahead of Charles, he would simply cover the inside line to turn one and Charles had no chance of overtaking him. If we see the replay, Leclerc did not close the gap one bit to keep Oscar behind. Not sure why he left so much space. But brilliant drive from Oscar once he took the lead, it was incredible to watch.
Charles said in an interview that he didn't want to defend, because his tires were cold. He said he wanted to hone them in over the next two laps and then pass Oscar.
Im not saying if that was smart or a poor decision from him, I'm just saying what I heard him say in an interview.
@@karlloovali4531people say a lot of things
@@yassver state the obvious
So he was just lucky to get ahead?
@@karlloovali4531I heard that, but it makes no sense. Why can’t he cover the inside on cold tires? I think he was just looking for a reason for his error.
Thanks for having me - this was a great chat!
Really interesting insight you gained a subscriber. Keep doing your thing 👊
This guy "Marty Vee from LLT" is bloody on it. Talk about insight. He has it. I just love listening to him. The way he unpacks this is on another level. Kudos.
He said 75-80% to make decision to back one driver, then goes on to low key criticise Mclaren for not doing that. 75% is Singapore. The fact that they haven't made press statement as to what they will do, doesn't mean all those concerned don't know what they will do.
Why do people feel so entitled to be kept informed what a teams strategy will be.
The reality is that it is Red Bull and Max's to lose, and its been that way for a long time
Loved this guest. Perhaps the most insight I've heard on this podcast. More of this please. I hope he's a recurring guest.
He's very very good @lowerlaptime, is
Barcelona 2016 Max holding off Kimi in a new car anyone?
Max has lost 1 race in Mexico since 2017 btw I really doubt checo will even get close to him around that track.
Lol ya. The ability to ignore evidence is astounding
I just came in to comment the same, lol. Max has always been great around Mexico
If Lando cannot finish in front of Oscar in Singapore he is scarred for life
Nah it’s not that deep. He’s still been the quicker guy at the vast majority of weekends, not that I’m really invested in either driver I probably prefer Oscar
@@joshd171294 isnt the qualifying head to head like 13 - 3 in Lando's favor or something? If it wasnt for him being a serial race start bottler, he'd be dogwalking Oscar as he generally has more race pace.
That being said, Norris has created this Oscar monster himself though, by not being more decisive and taking the opportunities when on offer.
@@joshd171294he’s still been quicker, but Oscar has stepped his level enough that the errors/misfortune are costing Lando (T1 Hungary, T4 Monza, T1 Spa, yellow flag Baku). Reminds me of young Max being much better in races than quali relative to Ricciardo
Just watch… McLaren will make Oscar move over and Lando will put it in the bin… interesting how nobody’s talking about how McLaren has already favoured Lando this year…. He gets the upgrades first…Oscar gets screwed with strategy while in the lead… etc
When has Oscar been screwed on strategy? Lando bins it as rarely as anyone. Super clean driver.
@@michaeldellorso889 silverstone. hungary.
@@michaeldellorso889 British Grand Prix, McLaren’s failure to double stack the pit stops and give first out to Lando absolutely screwed Oscar’s race… which he was In the lead
@@RobThompson-y9s Lando was ahead when they didn’t double stack.
Yes my bad… but the failure to double stack lost Oscar almost a full lap… Lando was caught up to him by the time he pitted in next lap… they hung him out to dry… not to mention he is always 2nd in line for upgrades
Thanks Cameron. I like this lad. This was much more enjoyable than those lectures you get from mr Windsor.
We need a modern "international Race of Champions"
@@geomission I remember I was a day 1 Vettel fan and when he started dominating people would say the usual "it's the car" then he would go on to win this race EVERY YEAR it was so validating as a fan... I agree bring it back
Amazing guest! He was so knowledgeable, great pod Cam
The fact is, Oscar is a generational driver. If McLaren lose him through mismanagement, as Alpine did, they will lose him to one of their arch enemies. I don't think they want to do that.
How am i sooo early??? This sounds like a great conversation, ready with my tea for thr f1 tea 😂
this is really
omg great vdeo, great insight and dialogue, Martin was great
Interesting note on the current quickest drivers I’d probably agree. Both at their best / in their prime I’d still put Verstappen and Hamilton ahead of anyone on the grid though by some margin
that's just your "feels" though
Yes Cameron making moves! Was watching this chap explain short corners knowledge through the roof love the collab
Great insightful video Cameron as always. You’re dedication for pumping out videos daily is something us subscribers always appreciate
Ah you're a legend Lukas. Thank you. I can't take any credit though, it's all due to @lowerlaptime 🍻
Lando slater of sir lewis will never be a world champion screenshot this, chump maybe 😅🍺
Cam asking all the right questions again! Keep it up and I'll keep watching religiously 👍
You're too kind.
Gotta give all the credit to my guy @lowerlaptime on this one though. 🍻
Oscar is fortunate to have such a great manager that can coach and mentor him. Max and Carlos also have a similar setup through their dads. I have noticed that Oscar builds up to qualifying and races with his free practices. Oscar hardly ever crashes in free practices and he gradually gets quicker and quicker over the weekend.
Wow. You boys have christened Piastri as superior...another Senna!
If Oscar doesn't dominate the sport and become a 4 times world champion, he'll be the Tim Tebow of F1. 9:12
Well, drivers are paid so much......and you want to live it up! You get to F1......and then you've got to be even more rigorous. And self-disciplined!
Great chat 👍, watched and enjoyed every minute, and went away with a greater understanding. Thanks for the insight
Charles is not faster than Max or even Lando. Ppl acting like this kid has Senna speed in the face of all evidence 😂
WHAT IF FIA HAD A RULE TO WERE THERE ARE NO TEAM ORDERS UNTIL SAID AMOUNT OF ROUNDS?? JUST LIKE THEY HAVE A SAY IN WHEN THE 26 REGS ARE WORKED ON.
SHUT THIS SHIT ABOUT LANDO HE'S IMPOTENT, PIASTRI HAS BETTER CHANCES OF BECOMING WORLD 🏆
'To save a dying puppy' 😅😂I love Cameron's expressions 😄
Oscar is quietly brilliant. It’s a very interesting characteristic in F1.
This was a great conversation. Thanks. After clicking on your UA-cam handle, in the first video that plays automatically, I see you are a man of culture, having Heusinkveld brake pedals. ;)
Oscar will ruin Lando’s career… mclarens’ focus on the manufacturers trophy and not managing their drivers will ultimately be their downfall. Lando will be gone for 2026… prob to red bull
I don't think Lando's a pushover as some of you make him look like
@@doriswembe4941his racing is weak, putting it on pole does not make you a WDC.. look at his dive bombs on Max and look how Oscar overtakes..

Big fan of your channel, great analysis.
Thank you
All credit due to @lowerlaptime. 🍻
Yes Piastri will win everything from now on!!!
Possible.
Like the champs do. Hard. No Mercy Racing
Get this man back on the channel!
Really enjoyed this show. Thank you for the insight and clarity.
Let’s not forget Charles .. without his drive we wouldn’t have been able to get that out of Oscar.
These two don't have a fair opinion of Charles so I wouldn't hold my breath for that
@@elianioriofarrell I like cam .. but if there’s one thing I don’t like, it’s his inability to be fair in his assessment of Charles , I’m not sure why , but he actually has some sort of distain for the man.
Maybe somebody should warn him that it’s not good for his channel lol
@stevepiccinnin1157 yeah it's absolutely ridiculous, if he has to keep asking "am I being too harsh" everytime he hates him, then he should realise by now that he is. And yes it's putting a lot of people off watching him, I like his videos but I can't keep watching them if in every single video he has a go at Charles, who hasn't even made any mistake in a quali or race this vs even his teammate who's had quite a few but gets all the plaudits from cam. Unwatchable atm.
@@elianioriofarrell I’m a Charles fan , and I wanna say , he does make mistakes, but they all do, especially when the car is on the absolute limit, I believe Charles’s biggest weakness is his assessing risk reward.
@stevepiccinnin1157 he definitely has made mistakes in the past but this year in quali and race, not at all
Verstappen Spanje
There needs to be more than eventualities splitting the two to justify team orders, especially when the “rookie” (as people who don’t know the definition of that word call him) is trending higher on points than anyone and the veteran has a bigger deficit to the leader than he did before the season supposedly turned around and is putting himself at risk of getting knocked out of Q1.
If I keep watching these videos.....I'm going to be a senior F1 expert!!
The reality is that everyone on the grid can be like Senna if they have the fastest and most stable car.
Firstly. Cameron thank you very much for orchestrating this beautiful exchange, these are the conversations that speaks to my F1 soul. I was so captivated it enabled me to complete a 45 minutes scenic ride on my peloton at 80 c/ 55r, never felt the burn until it was over. Big thanks to Martin as well. Looking towards the next episode.
This really makes happy. Glad you enjoyed 🍻
Max max max Aussie max max max Aussie max
Grow a pair?
Easy comparing Lando to Senna when he has the fastest and most stable car on the grid. What about Max or Lewis?
Lando to senna? Or Oscar to senna? I thought it was the latter. But I don't know nothing
@@Cameron-Cc I meant Oscar indeed. My apologies
Ferrari is replacing the wrong driver.
Carlos’ doesn’t have it
They both don't 🤣 @@yaadmanstyle
That was great!
Glad you enjoyed. @lowerlaptime is a truly a different gravy
Lando needs to be born again and restructure his fundamentals to maybeeeeee be able to beat max in a subpar car while he has a hand tied behind his back while lando drives a faster car. And even then oscar will still beat him🤷🏻♂️
Charles couldn’t pull it off since that McLaren had DRS for the entire race
I think Oscar is being praised too much based especially on the last race. Oscar his defensive drive was also possible because of the mini-drs rear wing that Charles who was faster in qualy couldn’t even overtake Oscar with drs. Oscar still has to prove it more consistent. I think Lando still beats Oscar on raw speed. Oscar makes less unneccesary mistakes for sure. We also have to wait what the FIA will decide on McLaren’s rear wing and what the consequence will be if they have to change it.
Stupid or what, doesn't Lando have the same wing 🤔🤔😧
@@5150TJTYes. The wing story was only to explain why Oscar could easily stay ahead of Charles. You don’t immediately have to use the term stupid do you? Doesn’t Lando have more points in the championship with the same wings?
Good god the leclerc slander based on one race is hilarious , look at the majority of his season for "consicentcy" and tell me the last time leclerc had an actual meaningful crash in a quali or race, not this year. This wasn't about Oscar, this was cam trying to push his leclerc agenda. Also the hards didn't fire up for ferrari at all, that was the difference, they didn't think it wouldn't fire up and it didnt for them, but mclaren had the temperature quickly whereas the Ferrari took a few laps to get the hards in.
Charles never makes mistakes. Ever.
@Cameron-Cc cop yourself on man I swear to everything, stop the forced criticism, Peter already put you in your place for it and he knows what he's talking about. And no, Charles hasn't made a mistake in a quali or race this year so, this year, no, he hasn't made major mistakes, you're still living in 2019 and crying because you've decided your favourites and want to use your platform to push a narrative going into next year with Leclerc alongside Hamilton. Again, cop yourself on.
@elianioriofarrell does Charles pay your mortgage or something damn son...
@CraigF1995 and does Charles overcharge Cam for his mortgage?
Have you ever followed a sport before if you're criticising someone for being a fan of someone.
