Fascinating how so different the landscape, wildlife and lifestyle is to the UK and yet we share so much in common, Mars bars are British as are shortbread biscuits, Tim Tams are the same as our Penguin biscuits, we also have the same sense of humour and habit of swearing and taking the rise out of the people we care about, sarcasm is our second official language..lol...even our currency is very similar.... I have met many Aussies and each and every one has been a joy, we are def much more alike than you'd imagine, considering how far apart we are geographically..
Great live session Ryan...love the naturalness off it all...😀👍🇬🇧🇺🇸 🇦🇺

Interesting fact: The Uk actually introduced polymer notes 28 years after Australia. The Reserve Bank of Australia & CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific & Industrial Research Organisation-an Australian Government Agency) developed the polymer notes & CSIRO patented them in 1973. Australia started introducing the notes in 1988 & the UK in 2016, I believe.
I’m not much of a chocolate fan & I haven’t tried a Penguin, although it would be fun to compare 😁✌🏼

Dude, there’s nothing different between Australia & Britain. It literally still functions like a British colony, actively converting all its immigrants into the English culture.
Their “Australian” accents are literally a rip off from one of the British accents!! There literally is no “Australian” accent!!
Except some minor differences in lifestyle, especially politics related, all else is the same. Overdosing on bread, desserts, alcohol, Anglo culture, only those Christian festivals being public holidays, worshipping colonizers aka Elizabeth etc who they consider their family. Other immigrants who were colonized by the Brits are forced to worship their colonizers.
Australians literally think they are Brits, act like them, speak like them- same stiff upper lip, same brushing emotions under the rug, same sarcasm, same passive aggression to the hilt, same superficial social niceties, same constant swearing- culture is identical for the most part!
Except for a rare few different words- most don’t know any language other than English & convert immigrants into only English speakers who forget all their native languages.
They still give special privileges to the Brit families who migrate here. It’s the same tribalism going on. Some superficial things are different but 80% is the same. It is called a mini Britain by many immigrants!! Brit movies and TV shows are much better though. But Australians do not really consider Britain a different country except with some superficial sports rivalries & the like. They’ve literally gaslit non British immigrants too to think the Britain is their “motherland”! My foot!

Who told you these things about birthday cakes and fairy bread. What you described (buttered bread with sprinkles) is 'hundreds and thousands'. We call them that because that's what we call the sprinkles, too. These might be tiny round balls in rainbow colours or tiny long bits in rainbow colours. Fairy bread is something else. It's really Melba Toast. My Grandma made it in her wood fired oven. I've never had the same since. It was still white when it became crisp. It's basically a dried, crisped slice of bread.

One of the cool things was that you could scratch the queens head off with a coin. People started scratching of the head and re-drawing in her head with interesting faces. The note was swapped very fast.

Heard it outside my window every now and then, and couldn't work out where it was coming from, til I saw the bird singing it one day. Ryan, as you find your favourites and rejig your tier of “best/favourite” Aussie snacks and treats - you need to let us know when you are running low so more can be sent! No one should be without their favourite overseas foods!
And when the weather warms up, please commit to a video of doing a traditional Aussie Sausage Sizzle on your BBQ.
The Sausage Sizzle is one of the very few times we DON’T put butter (or margarine) on our bread! 😊
The traditional sausage riddle is done thing we can’t send itself, but we can send instructions!
I’ll try and capture some video and tips from the experts. Sausage sizzles are usually found outside Bunnings (I guess Home Depot would be your closest equivalent store to Bunnings), as fundraisers for all sorts of community groups, junior sporting teams, health aids for a member of the community, community centre fundraisers that help those in financial need etc etc. I’m heading there this week. I’ll see if some of the “cooks” have some tips.
Also - if you can, via vpn, access the “9 Now/nine now” app - Channel 9 is one of our nation wide free to air tv stations - see if you can find some episodes of a show called Snackmasters.
Professional chefs are tasked with recreating common and favourite Aussie snacks, biscuits, ice creams etc and then judged by other chefs and reps from the company who make them and know the secrets of how to make them.
You might find something there you’d like us to send you to try!
P.s How do you spell your wife’s name? I can think of at least 3 different ways. It’s a bit of an Aussie thing wanting to get name spelling and pronunciations correct. I guess it comes from having so many unusual names of places here!

There is an old assie song about finding a redback spider on the toilet seat. They like the dark so the song is probably about an outside toilet with primative wooden bench seat and a deep hole beneath it.

The formula for temperature conversion is °Cx9/5+32 = °F.
Multiplying by 9 and dividing by 5 is a bit tough to do without a pen and paper/calculator so the easy cheat for mental arithmetic is to double the number and take away ten percent of the result.
So 22°C becomes 44. Take away 4 (10% of 44, rounded) and you have 40. Add the 32 and you’ve got 22°C = 72°F. (I have relatives and friends in the US and often have to convert for them in mid conversation.)

yikes! For basic, everyday use, I think the easiest is just that 0=freezing, 100=boiling & comfortable temp is the same as when the human body peaked in age, so between 18&26, depending on gender & individual & just up or down it from there (the double you speak of is really useful to remember with that)

I have been adulting for a while now and I still love fairy bread. For those not from Aussieland though, you need a decent slathering of salted butter or margarine and you NEED to use "hundreds and thousands" sprinkles, not those crappy long ones cuz that's nasty. Would love to see a reaction. Loved this vid and your fam is lovely 😊 Greetings from Radelaide 🙃

Yes definitely a difference, I moved to the UK and didn't really like the coke. I thought my tastes hays just changed or something.
Went back on holiday and it was far better.
Never really drank coke again in UK, till I had a imported one from Poland and it was nice again.
I think they've changed the recipe again in the UK as it's not as bad as it used to be.
So can imagine the US Coke isn't as good.
PS: Fanta in the UK is yellow Vs the orange colour of Oz... But Brits think it's orange.

History of the shoey!! The first example of a racing driver doing a shoey was three time V8 Utes champion Ryal Harris, after winning at Barbagallo last year. This largely went unnoticed. When V8 Supercar driver David Reynolds did a shoey after winning the second Saturday race at Darwin’s Hidden Valley later that year, it was the first time that most Australians had seen one. Reynolds had just completed a 70 lap race in 35 degree heat outside the car, and he’d been racing in that shoe for the last 12 months. Then MotoGP rider Jack Miller took the shoey to an international audience after winning his first MotoGP race at Assen, Netherlands earlier this year. This inspired Daniel Ricciardo to do a shoey.

Currently, here (where it's AEST - daylight savings) it's 4:00PM.... and it says you broadcast 2 hours ago. Given that, and the fact it's Saturday in summer ..... and the rest of Australia is behind us in time, my guess is that there's a whole lot of people NOT at home when you started, so that may have impacted your numbers. I'm just at the start of the clip. so I dunno if the numbers grew significantly..... but just mentioning what may have impacted. HOPEFULLY, your numbers grew significantly as you progressed as you folk are really good value..... and I'm sure other Aussies have thanked you in the ast, but additional thanks from me.

The opening up of Aussie Post boxes seems to be confusing to you? To open top:- Lay box flat, take knife laid flat and cut top tape across both short sides in turn, go to centre front and do the same for the 3 to 4 inches at the centre then point the knife down to cut tape on the rest of the front. You will find it easier to lift to open after you pull out the centre tab. It is easier to see the contents, find notes and letters, re-pack and stack the boxes this way. Hope this is helpful? Have fun.
By the way you will have to explain yourself to the first australian nation, why their word for all emus should according to you, be said how you want it, rather than how they have said it for thousands of years. We say it how they taught us, out of respect. I'd rather not get them all annoyed.

If not that, I feel like he really shoudl get a basic box cutter knife, one that retracts when not in use so it's safe around Jace
